  • “I didn’t know Christians could be like you.” Marc Martel says this is the best compliment he can receive when his faith comes up in conversation. Hear more about that story, plus his experience singing in the Bohemian Rhapsody movie, and why projects like his Queen cover album (“Thunder Bolts and Lighting”) mean so much to who he is as a person.

Before the movie was released, before the publicity push and the Oscar Hype, the Producer of the film gave a down to earth interview about his 10 year journey in making the film: QUOTE:
The songs in the movie are performed by Freddie, Rami and a Freddie sound-alike named Marc Martel.
"Rami sings a little bit in the film, there's a lot of Freddie Mercury obviously, and a lot of Marc Martel. He sent a video to Brian May and Roger Taylor and he sounds exactly like Freddie Mercury. We knew that we had someone we could use for parts that maybe Rami couldn't do and obviously Freddie didn't do. So we were in Abbey Road recording studio for maybe *two and a half months* with Marc and with Rami, recording bits and pieces that we knew we needed. It's hard to find someone who can sing like Freddie Mercury *and I'm not sure the movie would have happened if we didn't have Marc* ." - Producer, Graham King of G.K. Films

But only one of whom Roger Taylor has repeatedly stated sounds exactly like Freddie. Get a real life "Jeannette"/Kitty/Black Dog/MiReLa/Victor Garcia/Xmas Bunny Scotland and all your other happy aliases. Everyone knows you are an Adam Lambert troll and that you are very sad. You seem to be the only one who takes you seriously. You have been trolling too long . Its kind of tragic really. Either go back to enjoying Adam or go away and get a hobby and leave everyone here alone , since they've done nothing to you. Its quite likely not one of the people you have harrrassed in the comments for Marc's videos in the last couple of years has been anywhere near Adam's videos. Trolls are everywhere. They are are all small, bitter people, prone to lies and chained to their keyboards trying to figure out how to bait people into pointless arguments. Much like you . The rest of us have lives to deal with and the last thing we need is you soiling everything just for your own lonely, sad entertainment.

@Jeanette Kejling You can't run into me everywhere. I only post in the comments of Marc's videos which I listen to frequently. oh and Rugby video not long ago, and an Unchained Melody one and one Jonathan Antoine video, that I can remember, just to be complete. . So you have just outted yourself trolling Marc's videos. You harp about your age, but your spiel is almost identical to at least 3 other trolls on here all of whom are probably you and most tellingly is almost identical to Great King Rat's , one of your heroes whom you aped as Black Dog for a while. And don't kid yourself that real Queen fans made that #1 . I congratulate Adam, whose fanbase enabled the Q of QAL to have a second life in the industry . But QAL is not Queen and its popularity is driven in the majority by the fanbase inherited along with Adam, not long term Queen fans. To be sure nothing is absolute and there genuinely are Queen fans who like QAL but they know it will never be "Queen" without Freddie.

@The Two Well that's one way to try to turn a discussion. Believe what you want. What you think doesn't matter to me. He knows what's in people's hearts and that's all that matters to me. You forgot that you forgot to turn the other cheek first btw.

    • @marcfan1822

@The Two Ok. Now you are seriously sounding confused and conficted. Of course most organised religion is corrupted. Where there are people in power or seeking power, there's always corruption. Its what's in people's hearts and who they are that matters. I am still going to pray for you because you seem unable to see yourself as others are seeing you.

we've had some pretty rarified spiritual conversations, and although I'm not a christian, as it turns out we have a lot of common ground. it's working in his life, and that, to me is more convincing than any amount of proselytizing.

    • @ToddandRaquiForrest
      @ToddandRaquiForrest Před 5 lety +11

The spiritual journey should never set out to proselytize, or convince, but simply should be sharing the story of your life. Like you said, this is more convincing, and in fact, hearing the stories of others alway has a way of becoming part of our own story. I'm sure your story has become part of Marc's in the past 7 years of sharing.

When Marc talked about the band’s identity in downHere, one of the things I loved about their band was how they traded off on lead vocals for different songs. To me, that was part of their identity. I loved that back and forth. For example, go listen to “Rest”, “All At War”, “Little is Much”, and “How Many Kings”. I love those songs, and they probably wouldn’t have the same impact without both Marc Martel & Jason Germain together.

You know I feel that when Freddie Mercury died his soul was transferred into marc because he was reincarnated into him because there's no way about it you can't tell me that's not true.
2 years ago I had a very horrific car accident where I died twice and my mom had a stroke on Christmas on the 25th Christmas on 2012 and died a month later and my fiance killed herself my other dog died and so on so on and after that accident I was in surgery for over 13 plus hours and I died twice and I saw my mom and my step dad and my fiance and everybody else and they told me it wasn't my time and they basically I felt that I was ripped out of heaven and brought back to hell.
And when I listen to Mark saying to me he is Freddie Mercury he will always be that person in my life because I really love Freddie Mercury's music I think he's one of the greatest singers on the planet you know he was a legend and icon and what he could do with his voice blew my mind

@2.38 - surely it’s a good thing to “ say the right thing - ie, The Gospel “ so that people get saved and go to heaven. We are not saved by our behaviour/performance but by what we believe, because without Faith it is impossible to please God. Come to think of it, when you share the truth with others, that faith alone in Christ alone without any works is what saves you, most of the world rejects you, as I know from experience and what the Bible tells me

    An answer to her question:
Massey, the film’s re-recording mixer/music mixer Paul Massey says “99.9%” of the singing in the film is Mercury. The rest is a blend of Malek’s voice with Mercury sound-alike Marc Martel. We only did that for vocals that didn’t exist, things like the audition scene in the parking lot, ‘Happy Birthday’ over lunch and writing ‘Love of My Life’ at the farm house,” Warhurst says.(Excerpt from Variety)
