This one probably the best episode NSP has ever released. The pacing was perfect and the final fight held a lot of weight. When Midas played the piano, you knew something big was about to go down.
The ending almost got me. After midas confronted oro for one last time, and jumped in to the water. Ngl I teared up a bit, it truly was a emotional ending. This is why I love NSP.
Also, I respect that they didn't use the whole event as filler.

Midas had probably the best story arc in the series tricking the audience into thinking he's evil, but instead sacrifices himself for his daughter back.

Midas playing the piano really put the emotion into the scene. Even though this isn't canon to the actual Fortnite lore, it's still the best series I have watches that creates it's own lore for Fortnite.

Even though it's their own take on the Fortnite Story, they always line everything up so perfectly with each Season. I seriously don't know how they do it but it's amazing lol. I was always in Midas side, it's good that his plan worked, but the fact that he wasn't able to see his daughter again after she came back to life made me Sad, i hope that now, in Season 3, we have a great history just like Season 2.

What i understood from this video:
Midas finally defeated Oro, and sacrificed himself shortly after, making so that all evidence of the golden power existing is no more.
After the golden power vanished all of the characters that were turned to gold were brought back to life, including Marigold.
Midas jumping into the ocean probably made the flood, which we will know more about next season.
And at last, Shadow is active and stronger than ever, they will likely be one of the main villains of season 3, depending on what Epic releases ;)

Midas could be ruthless and abrasive and manipulative, but he was also brilliant and very protective of those he cared about. He was both gifted and highly flawed. Gifted with great determination and intelligence, iron will, passion and selflessness, but also suffering from trust issues, paranoia and stubbornness. He was willing to go to any length, sacrifice anyone... including himself. He was not a psychopath, even if some who only saw his outside demeanor considered him insane or greedy. He had suffered so much that he had encased his own emotions in ice so he wouldn't shatter and break. Of such qualities, great villains and great heroes are made, and Midas was both.
He was lonely in life, and alone in death. He did what he had to to fix his mistakes and vanquish a great Evil from the world. _"Forgive me."_ shall be his epitaph as he will never have a grave stone. He passed from the world and into legend.

Midas was definitely one of the best written villains (if not the best) in Newscapepro's history. Even though he is a villain, you understand his motives and why he is doing the things he is. Honestly, he's not even really a villain. Just a man trying to get his daughter back and willing to do anything to do it. Newscapepro definitely outdid themselves in creating an extremely complex and understandable character
For a while, I thought this was the end of the series but as the series continued, I was relieved because these kind of stories are amazing to watch. Just watching the end credits seeing everything underwater makes me feel like it was actually the end of Fortnite.

Man, the effort that went into the older videos (everything pre chapter 3 pretty much) is absolutely mind blowing. The storytelling and overarching plot of Chapter 2 Season 2 was mind blowing with Midasâs revenge plot on Oro, his turn to near villainy and turning into a tyrant to get his daughter back was heartbreaking to watch. Overall, itâs sad to see how much NSP has devolved.

This story although just out of a video game was one of the most beautiful, heartbreaking, action packed, coolest and most well planned movie ever. The creator is something else than just a movie creator. The whole climax and resolution was great and midasâs backstory as well as his reason for villainy left a mark in my heart. Itâs amazing how NewScape turned a season of spies into one of my most favourite movies ever and credits to all the effort to make the movie.
I feel so bad for Midas. He was trying to kill oro to save his daughter and to prevent him from causing anything else, and in season 3 everyone thinks heâs the bad guy.

I watched this four months ago why is it already nostalgic? Midasâ is back btw.
The tragic thing is, Midas died all alone, knowing he would never know if his sacrifice managed to free his daughter and that even if he succeeded he would never be able to see her again. His plans to gather all the power, to get into Oro's domain and defeat Oro had succeeded, but at the end, all he could do was pray to any deity that might be listening to accept his sacrifice. He did not just sacrifice his powers, but his life, to set the Light free. There was nothing for him to come back to, really. He had lost his family, lost his Agency, lost the trust of his own agents, done unspeakable things, burned all his bridges. For a character like Midas who is obsessed with having control, learning that he had been manipulated and toyed with by Oro all his life, that Oro had destroyed all of Midas's chances for happiness, tipped him over the edge.
Charakters like Midas cannot hope for a _And They Lived Happily Ever After_ ending. All he could hope for was to succeed with his plans to fix his mistakes. At some point he realized that the train of his life inescapably hurtled towards that Terminus.
The sad thing is, there are so many things about Midas's tragic life and motivations that the other characters will never learn about. His daughter can tell them what happened to her, but she never knew the bitter man Midas had become after her "death". The only person who had the entire picture was Midas himself. Meowcles and the other will not even find a body to bury, unless Midas's physical body died in that Cyclo suit and only his soul arrived in Oro's domain. And even if that is what happened, his body was likely turned into energy as he fueled the orb with the energy he siphoned from the other carriers of the Light. Or the machine allowed him to physically enter Oro's domain. In any case, Midas will be gone without a trace.

This was such a good ending. I can't believe Midas died, he was my favorite character! Compared to other Fortnite short channels, I think that Newscapepro puts their time and thought into how they want the story to unfold. When I look at the other channels that have Fortnite shorts, all I see for the titles are "This person broke up with that person!", "This person got together with this person!" At least with Newscapepro, they don't make the whole "love" aspect continuous. All of the dedication and determination that Midas had to bring his daughter back to life is truly amazing. Now that the other agents aren't gold anymore, they will probably feel very sorry for misunderstanding Midas. He sacrificed so much. They thought that he just wanted all the power so he can rule the world, but in reality, he just wanted to have all the power so he can kill Oro and bring his daughter back to life. My theory of Midas was true after all! All of his actions made him look bad, but he still pulled though all for his daughter. But I'm still left with one question: Why didn't Midas tell the agents that all of this was to bring his daughter back to life (or at least attempt to)? In one of the past videos, Skye literally mentioned that there was a rumor going around (she even said that tons of people heard the rumor!) that Midas turned his daughter to gold. He could have just admitted it and said that he wanted to bring his daughter back to life. For some reason, I feel as though this unanswered question will play some sort of role (perhaps a major one) in next season's Fortnite shorts. Since Midas has all of the power and he killed himself, (or did he...) where has the power gone now? Did he break the "cycle"? The power can't just be "gone"... I guess we'll have to find out next season! Amazing job Newscapepro. You guys have done such an awesome job of formulating this season's story, character's personalities, etc (and past seasons too!). Well done. Well, I think that this comment is even longer than one of the comments I posted in one of the past videos...(that one was pretty long too, lol).
Edit: I just did some research now about the whole "Greek Mythology" part, and a website states, "Midas did so: he ran to the river and was astonished to see gold flowing from his hands . . . When he turned home, everything Midas had touched had become normal again.Midas hugged his daughter in full happiness and decided to share his great fortune with his people. From now on, Midas became a better person, generous and grateful for all goods of his life." Since Newscapepro has based a lot of Midas off of this part of Greek Mythology, maybe Midas WILL come back to life again... This quote is so relatable to the story because when it says that Midas ran to the river", in this Fortnite short, Midas jumped into the water. So perhaps this is hinting at Midas coming back to life. But then again, the website states, "Despaired and fearful, he raised his arms and prayed to Dionyssus to take this curse from him . . . The god heard Midas and felt sorry for him." Newscapepro twisted this Greek Mythology myth a tiny bit, and made it so "the god" (Oro) didn't feel sorry for Midas. ALSO, the website that I am looking at now says that Midas (from Greek Mythology) was obsessed with money and sorta ungrateful. Before Midas accidentally turned his daughter to gold, (in the Fortnite short) Midas was still grateful and happy with what he had. They could honestly throw a curveball and not bring Midas back to life, but like I said before, I guess we'll have to find out next season... I just looked at all I wrote and realized how much this is...lol. I just really want to express my thoughts and see what people think XD.

The game is now in Chapter 2 Season 6, and today I rewatched this episode out of nostalgia (and to get my Midas fix) and it still gives me goosebumps. The story arc's conclusion, the voice acting, the top notch music choices.

That was actually so logical of midas...
In the original tale of midas when water touched what he turned to gold it was turned back to normal so midas made the device to cause a flood. He knew the agents would be free from the golden touch once they were touched by the water so it was fine when he turned them to gold. His ultimate goal was of course to free his daughter and just like the agents she was free.
Once the final step of his plan came along and he was face to face with Oro he had the golden power from the ones he turned to gold and he won

Midas story arch was amazing it showed the struggle of a man trying to Keep everything in order while fixing a mistake he made and needing to make the sacrifices needed to get his daughter back and making the ultimate sacrifice he was one of the best characters and I will miss him but the ending was perfection

This was beautiful, Midas playing the piano actually brought a lot of emotion to the scene. I have always been team Midas, but I really felt for a broken father during that. (Edit) Finished the episode. I understand they they had to cut out a lot of the event, but that palace was amazing. Oro is dead, Midas is MIA? And Marigold is alive! The ending with the music and credits hit me so hard in the chest. I was no joke crying for Midas and everyone else. But Mainly because the series was over and next season would have new characters and then we never see other characters ever again, most of the time.
