    Same windshield I have. I do leave it on when T tow. The vents make a good place to hold when installing or removing. Make sure it is as high as possible. So far I love mine and even in the deep south it doesn't get too hot. Looks great !!

    I have an OEM glass windshield and love it, ended up putting in rear OEM window due to dust swirling around after windshield install. So far no scratching or chipping. Undecided at this point if I'll be putting in a wiper kit.

    I bought the same one when I purchased my Ranger, after 1 week I told the dealer he was getting it back. At full speed the thing would deflect into the cab about 4" there is NO WAY I would ever trailer it with this windshield in. I returned it and the rear poly shield for glass. A little more money but 10X better. I have since bought the 1/2 windshield for the summer which addresses the heat issue but leave the rear shield in to stop the dust. The vents let some air in but not enough to make it comfortable with 1/2 doors. If you stay under 50 mph you"ll be fine, over that you'll feel like it's going to blow into the cab.

    • @UTVDIRT
      @UTVDIRT  Před 5 lety

      That's what I was worried about. I thought it would be thicker and not as flimsy. I am having second thoughts now. Thanks for the info.

      @@UTVDIRT Just purchased this windshield on my 2020 Polaris Ranger 1000. Installing it this weekend. Was wondering if you can give us an update on your thoughts of the pros and cons? FYI, I am only using mine at a hunting cabin and would never be going top speed. Only time it would be going that fast is on a trailer when taking it for service. Thanks!

    I have the Polaris Glass windshield. Had zero issues with rocks, tree branches, etc. It cracked when I was trailering and caught a bird at 70 or so mph. I have now contemplating replacing the glass or doing hard coat poly.

    • @UTVDIRT
      @UTVDIRT  Před 5 lety

      That's what I was worried about and went with poly. I might just keep it and see what happens. I know at least it wont crack or break and just need to see how it does when it's being trailered.

    • @jarrodrichardson1470
      @jarrodrichardson1470 Před 5 lety

      I also have the Polaris half windshield, but don’t use it. The wind catches me right at my glasses so it makes it rather uncomfortable at speed.

    I have a 900 and went with the hard coat poly windshield. No issues whatsoever. My only advice to you is to ceramic coat it! I think it made a huge difference in mine, I don’t have one scratch in it!
    Good luck!

    Hey Mike, I’m a new subscriber and really appreciate your videos. I just bought full doors and heater for my ‘18 XP 1000. Now, I realize that the Velcro that attaches my existing windshield will get in the way of my new doors. So, I’m shopping for a new windshield. A couple questions for you:
    1. Are the vents in your poly windshield useful?
    2. Would you spend the extra $200 for glass (no vents)? Also, glass will require an expensive wiper system (can’t drill a hole for a manual wiper). $$$
    Many thanks for your opinions.

    • @UTVDIRT
      @UTVDIRT  Před 4 lety

      Hi John, glad you like the videos. The vents are nice in the summer time to let air flow in and are useful. I bought the poly because I sometimes trail ride and didn't want to break the glass. If I was just using for working around the property I would of went glass. Hope this helps! Thanks for subscribing!

    We like our Polaris Ranger open so we got a half windshield for summer so we can see but need a full windshield for winter. I'm still trying to decide. I'm leaning to the Polycarbonate right now.

    @UTV DIRT I really like dat windshield, it looks good on Zeus, to bad the other people had bad luck with them. I love my glass on my North Star , never had any problems so far and the AC , Heat, and Defrost is very nice to have. Down South Louisiana it gets really hot 🥵, and it blows ice cold ❄️ air. Wish you luck getting what you want, the glass is very strong to. Thanks for another awesome video, please keep um coming Mr Mike!!

      @joeyhigginbotham8638 Před 5 lety +1

      UTV DIRT your very welcome, and yea that’s what I would do. Maybe it won’t flex to bad, especially if your not driving fast in your truck. But just so you know, I flexed my Ranger pretty hard on a levey in our crawfish pond, it didn’t hurt or crack anything. Your windshield looks very good tho, I really hope it works out for ya, maybe later try ah glass one for the winter 🥶 time up there!. There’s also a heater kit for your Ranger, would make ah very good video if you already don’t have one 😬🔥
