This was a song that Burch and his wife chose specifically for Alexis. Halestorm is one of their favorite bands and It's Not You is a song that they thought Alexis would find anthemic as well as identifying with the lyrics. In this video, he also explains roller derby which is one of the main backgrounds of the video. @HalestormRocks

Lovebites named their band after that Halestorm the Love Bites song. I hope you check out the band The Warning you mentioned. Lzzy donated a guitar to Danny of The Warning because she felt she found someone worthy of donating to.
That is why I mentioned them ( the warning) at the front, we were going to cut one from them but our time frame is so reduced. Going to try again this weekend if we can.

Halestorm ROCKS Lzzy Hale is amazing
Debut self titled album from 2009. If you have never seen them live, the energy they bring on stage is much more than comes through in the videos. Lzzy and her brother AreJay started in 1997, she was 13, he was 10. their Dad Roger played bass in the early days. Their first gig was a talent show at the county fair, they won 3rd place. That 3rd place trophy is still on Lzzy's mantle, right next to their Grammy. Guitarist Joe Hottinger joined in 2003, bassist Josh Smith in 2004.
Lzzy is the first female ambassador for Gibson guitars.

Love me some Halestorm. I saw them with The Warning in Detroit, MI a little while back.
Hey guys. That was a fun reaction! One other suggestion along these lines. I hope you can check out a group of three young sisters from Mexico making hard rock music called The Warning. Their music blends traditional genres - like classic rock, hard rock, pop and grunge and they are phenomenal live. I recommend a song called "Disciple" from Teatro Metropolitan ... or "Evolve" from the MTV VMAs. They also released a new song and music video just a week ago called "S!ck" which I think you'd really like as well. All are on their YT channel and won't be blocked. (As an added bonus, they opened for Halestorm throughout last summer and Lzzy Hale personally gifted a guitar to Daniela (lead singer/guitarist), telling her to rock on and pass on the kindness to someone who inspires her someday the way these sisters have inspired Lzzy and her band.) Hope you can check them out. They'd be right up your alley, especially if you like Halestorm.

I've had the pleasure of meeting the whole band on a number of occasions. I've even been able to watch a show from the side of the stage and have been in 2 of their music videos (3 if you count the one they filmed but didn't use). They're all very cool people. I had a great talk with Arjay during the "Amen" video shoot and Lzzy wa great, talking and taking photos with all of us who asked. She even let me film a little video message to my cousin's daughter who was a big fan ad was going through issues related to a brain tumor at the time. Great, great people as well as an awesome band.

Halestorm has recorded three EPs of cover songs you might want to check out. Some of my favorites are "Bad Romance" (Lady Gaga), "Hunger Strike" (Temple of the Dog), "Get Lucky" (Daft Punk), and "Still of the Night" (Whitesnake). Lizzy Hale also appears on the Lindsey Stirling song "Shatter Me". If you like violins and dubstep, check that song out.
Halestorm is my favorite band of the 2000s & it's not even close! Lzzy is a powerhouse!

Try Rollerball with James Caan, for movie night. 1970 something maybe 76, can't remember exactly. Use to watch roller derbies,both men and women back in the seventies. Love this song.
I enjoyed your reaction. And I am psyched you will be checking out my favorite band, The Warning. My suggestion is "Dust to Dust" live at Teatro Metropolitan. If not that song, then anything other than "More", which is not representative of most of their sound.

I have seen them live 3x now and they are great! And they are some of the nicest people you could meet.
Their first two albums are by far the best. I became a huge fan during this time, but I haven't really been into them as much since.
Steve Whiteman from KIX has worked with her as a vocal teacher / coach and one of her idols is Tom Keifer, can't go wrong with either of those two.

Lzzy is the only current female rock singer I like. I'm a 70's and 80's rocker and like that era the best but Lzzy's band is a breath of fresh air. I wish a lot more females in this era would rock like her. Ann Wilson has always been my favorite female rock singer.
Live she is even more amazing.
Love to watch her live performance with Eric Church at either the CMA or AMC awards show singing “that’s damn rock and roll”.
Play her Phantom Blue "Time to Run" she'll be blown away! They were the best all female band.

As a 50 plus 80s-90s rock/metal enthusiast. Lzzy’s vocals are amazing and even better live! Their cover of Slave to the Grind, Sioux Falls ,SD shot raw on a cellphone is probably her best vocal/performance I’ve seen. Seen them live 7-8 times well worth the ticket! Great reaction and channel
Alexis should also check out Halestorm's softer side that showcases Lzzy's emotive vocals on those. My favourite ballad from them is 'Break In'.

Saw Halestorm with A7F and Disturbed! Incredible show! Halestorm had these trash cans with drum heads on them....sounded so damned TRIBAL! The show was @ Nationwide arena in Columbus, Ohio. Great Venue. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Saw Halestorm at a little club in San Antonio. That was a shoulder to shoulder sweat fest. You should hear the live version of this from the Philly 2010 CD. They are from York, PA. Don't forget her brother is the drummer.
Roller Derby has been around in the background for many years. In song, you have Jim Croce's Roller Derby Queen. There is two big movies with Roller Derby type games that were pretty big in the 70's, Rollerball with James Caan and Kansas City Bomber with Raquel Welch.
You should have Alexis react to an actual roller derby match. Would be fun to see you response.

I first watched Halestorm in a small venue in Ft Wayne,In. They were the opening act before Seether and Shinedown. This was back in 05 they were pretty awesome back then. Got to meet Lzzy and she was just such a nice person

Lzzy Hale has some killer collaborations with Amy Lee, Daughtry, and her work with the Mongolian folk metal band The Hu on their Song of Women is killer. 🙌✌️
I think it was TNT. I forget, but roller derby used to be on tv Fridays/Saturday nights. I’d say late 90’s is when I saw it. I think the version I watched was staged as who the winner was going to be but it was good entertainment. I believe the show was called Roller Jam. Maybe TNN was the station. I don’t remember.
So funny that LZZY Hale and Taylor Swift were both teenage girls playing at the Iguana in Lancaster at different times. Americas biggest pop star and the girl carrying the classic metal flag forward.
First time I heard Lzzy Hale was a duet on a CMA awards show and OMFG she absolutely blew the guy off the stage. Even he looked at her like "Got damn she's good!"
I believe the duet with Sebastian was at a press conference for the Revolver Golden Gods Awards. I love this song, but when it comes to Halestorm there were a lot of other songs that would have been better choices to show off Lzzy's vocals. Personally just for showing off her talent, I'd have gone with "Love Bites (And So Do I)" as that's the one they won the Grammy for. Still the only female fronted band to win the Grammy in the heavy metal category. "I Miss the Misery" is also a good choice for showing off her vocals. And you forgot to let her know the drummer is Lzzy's little brother which is a fun fact for a lot of people. Oh, and you were right to bring up the "Separate Ways" cover with Daughtry. AMAZING cover of an already great song!
Miles Kennedy from Alter Bridge plays "Watch Over You" on acoustic live and Lzzy Joined him and made it an AWESOME duet. You really should react to that performance.

I've seen Halestorm twice live 2016 and 2019. They are so good and Lzzy is amazing. Roller Derby is cool a good roller derby movie is Whip It with Ellen Page before they became Elliott. Good Movie.
