  • Farhad Moshiri: It's Time For Clarity On Everton's Future
    As 777's protracted takeover of Everton Football Club continues to hit bumps in the road, Barry Cass and Peter McPartland discuss whether or not current owner Farhad Moshiri needs to clarify the situation for Evertonians. Many media reports now claim it's unlikely that the USA group will be able to actually complete the process meaning now more than ever clarity is needed from Moshiri.

    Moshiri should hurry up finding anther buyer. Rediculous that 777 is lingering on with yet another extension?? Madness.

    777 have been patently unsuitable from the very beginning. credit to those who've called them out since day 1. specifically credit to those at josimar. they've done some more great work exposing what's going on with villa and burnley's betting sponsor recently. investigative journalism is something we should always appreciate--they're putting their necks out to shine a light on the nefarious behaviour of some very powerful people. kudos.
    re: the "extension" i think it's much more likely a final deadline than anything else. it really depends on how you frame it. i will be delighted to see the back of 777. delighted. and sympathy goes to the clubs still suffering under their ownership. i've seen on twitter several vasco fans reaching out to us, and even though it looks like we're dodging the 777 bullet, i hope we continue to possibly do what we can to support the other 777 clubs in their effort to free themselves from such dire ownership.

    IMO, the best outcome would be MSP taking over, increasing the value of the club, and then reselling in 18-24 months.

    • @John-ok8ts
      @John-ok8ts Před 13 dny

      Would be a terrible thing to happen. All that would mean is they would then want to make a profit when they sell us which increases the cost to someone else while keeping us fighting for survival every year. The best thing would be for Moshiri to cut his losses now.

    • @OswaldPHaygood
      @OswaldPHaygood Před 13 dny

      @@John-ok8ts nothing is more profitable than winning, my friend. Letting us end up in the Championship is not a strategy for financial success.

    • @John-ok8ts
      @John-ok8ts Před 11 dny

      @@OswaldPHaygood I'm not sure that is necessarily the case. It would take a lot more investment in the short term to get us safely in the top 10 than just keep us in the premier league so if your aim is to flip us within a season or two why would you put in that investment sine that will never then get reflected in the valuation.

    Moshiri could turn this right round if he had the balls but unfortunately people who've earnt money by default don't av any, he could end up being the hero cus he owes the fans big time. Stay in charge hire some top people to run the club and put Ur real money where Ur mouth is. Simple

  • @John-ok8ts
    @John-ok8ts Před 13 dny +2

    For all this massive amounts of money he has put in. I would love to see how our net spend over those years compares to the rest of the league because he sure didn't spend it on the stadium since we pretty much owe the money for the entire build.

  • @deanrwatson
    @deanrwatson Před 13 dny +2

    I believe MSP would grant an extension, as otherwise they box themselves into a corner as if they trigger the security they reportedly have (conjecture) then they either take a chunk of equity in the Stadium, which they would later have to liquidate to a new owner, new investor or back to the club to get the cash back, or they would take Moshiri's stake in the club, but again inherit the burden of finishing the stadium and then finding an owner. Remember at the outset, they were prepared to fund circa £100m plus, the burden they take on to complete the stadium, pay off debts etc would be many times that (If they don't want to or lack the funds to) . The reward is there if they have the equity in the stadium, but again it is reliant on their position to wait whilst they liquidate that asset.
    In simplified terms, they just need to fix some things on a house that is worth a lot of money, can they afford to keep paying the monthly payments, the bills, the credit cards etc whilst the house is put up for sale, sold, contracts exchanged etc etc.

    • @deanrwatson
      @deanrwatson Před 13 dny

      Right now, everyone in this sorry story (save us fans) are better served to drag this out, and hope someone wins the financial lottery. Moshiri so he gets full asking price (why he thinks this is still possible with 777 is up for debate), MSP because they have security but probably don't want the current burden of running the club. Rights and Media, are second in line to MSP so it doesn't suit them, to rock the boat. Metro bank are owed next to nothing so it wouldn't be worth it, for them either. Lastly 777, are last in line, with no guarantee's, a whole pile of issues elsewhere it appears in their businesses, and are up to, roughly £200m now, so they cannot just walk away either. Utter chaos.

    Why aint there like a protest against selling to 777 cos we will be in administration under them they are not fit to run our club maybe clubs in smaller leagues but not us in premiership they own i think 5 or 6 clubs and aint done much and not got kind of financial clout to take us anywere and will always be loans and borrow the premiership should not let these past that test they need to pass

  • @JayEFC1969
    @JayEFC1969 Před 13 dny +1

    So if FM calls time on 777 will 777 ask EFC for their £200m plus interest ? MSP seemingly aren't interested or do not have the funds to lend more and ideally woukd like their £150m back. The RMF O/D is secured against the Sky TV money so we are at their mercy in terms of renewing at the same level or else budgets will be shrunk further. The only way the stadium was ever going to be fully paid for was largely with USM funds to assist. The overall level of debt the club now faces was never ever intended to be able to be serviced from what the club & stadium can generate.

    I’m a Newcastle fan as a disclaimer, so have no horse in this race, but it’s never been more evident that Moshiri simply doesn’t have any cash. Look at his history and background, he’s basically only ever been Usmanov’s right hand man and chairman of his companies. He’s not an independently wealthy man. The reason 777 is funding it now is because Moshiri can’t. He’s effectively Usmanov’s mate who he brought along with him, and has now been left as the figure head of the football club, without the means to keep it afloat.
    He doesn’t care, doesn’t have the motivation, and doesn’t have the means to really change any of this. It’s why he’s still clinging onto 777 because they’ve likely promised him an easy solution. Yet, Vasco are in court in Brazil today seeking protection from 777 if they go under. It’s a horrific set of circumstances for you all, and hope you come out of the other side of it. ✌🏼

      They can't choose who buys the club, they have criteria that needs to be met and it's up to the owner and buyer to meet that criteria. 777 can't meet it so they are not allowed to buy the club, it's not up to the premier league to say they are banned from buying, it's 100 per cent on moshiri because he still wants to sell to them despite them being unable to meet the requirements.

    Ped's right about the club they basically hadn't evolved in to the PL era or the 21st century. You have to blame the likes of Kenwright for that but also Moshiri. What we need now is almost a repeat of when Moshiri came in. A wealthy owner who will clear the debts, and then turn the club around. As we know Moshiri didn't really make any changes. It's the custodians that have failed us. Kenwright. Barrett-Baxendale. Elstone. Moshiri. etc. It makes my blood boil to see us struggle year in year out. But actually get worse. Think of it this way. I use Forest as a good example but can say Luton as well. Think of all those years either team has been outside top flight. All those years we've been in the top league. TV money and so on. We've not progressed at all as a football club. Look at Newcastle, Villa. They go down. They come up again. Stronger. We're still languishing at the bottom. Same old same old.

    Why would other interest make noise now, when they can do it in a few months and pay much less for the club.
    How Moshiri has allowed the club to be run so badly that even with a new stadium, he-s not making money on his investment, makes me wonder how he reached billionaire status.
