That jeep has so many mods on it that the G has stock so im G all the way. I drive a G and i am apart of the mercedes Galendewagen club of South Africa and nothing can beat these brilliant machines.
The coil suspension can handle anything and it is different thicknesses all the way through for driving a loaded vs an unloaded vehicle.
The angles on the G are super hard to beat and with 3 differential locks and solid axels, the G is the best 4x4 i have ever seen

Let me give some perspective. The G-wagen is used by more than 63 Armies around the word. this includes US Marine corps, the British Army (because its more reliable than a Rover), The German Army, The UN, Canada, and even Russia. Not one of these groups uses a Cherokee. End of debate.
The UN just signed a deal to buy them well into 2025. As I remember the design of the cherokee like in the video (which I faithfully owned two of, and totaled both of) died off sometime back in the 90's. The Gwagen has been virtually unchanged for nearly 40 years.

Hazi I owned two gwagens. Have owned two range rovers, three Cherokee, two land cruisers, a four runner, a bronco, two Isuzu troopers, a Mitsubishi Monterey, two suburbans, and two suzuki samurais. The G tops them All. I don't speak from fanboy fantasy I speak from experience. Your stock Cherokee couldn't touch the terrain a stock gwagen can handle. Argue all you want, but your wrong.

Yes it is cheaper out of the box and to repair. The Gs RARELY break when beat on .
I don’t mind Jeeps if that’s all I could afford and wanted to be like everyone else.
Unfortunately most new G Wagen owners are total douche bags, but some of us make them earn their keep.
By the way I’ve wheeled in Moab and other places with some $120,000 Jeeps that worked well but just can’t hold a match to the G Wagen’s solid none rattletrap road manners.

I've had 2 Cherokees as work vehicles, one a 2.8, one a 4.0 liter, one after the other, for about 10 years. I also have had a G-glass for 20 years. They all go off road, for work as well as some fun. They are both good trucks, they both can get the job done, but honestly, and you just have to be honest, or why bother writing here, the G is the better vehicle, in virtually every way, other than how much the parts cost. The G is ready to go, right out of the box - no mods required, and, most importantly, the G doesn't break something on a regular basis. The jeeps are good, and they can be really good once you spend a bunch of time modding them, but in my experience, jeeps just tend to break more often than I'd like. With a G, they just don't break hardly ever, especially off road. You hardly ever need to buy parts for a G wagen, so who cares if they cost twice as much - they last four times as long. Top it off with the simple fact that G is much roomier, bigger doors, easier to get in and out of. For example, you can hop in and out with your rifle or shotgun, and a hat or helmet on, and not whack into the vehicle body in 5 places. Plus, the G is much more comfortable to drive, and with the 463 chassis G's, you get full-time 4x4, which is a huge advantage if you actually drive on mixture of gravel, dirt, mud, snow on a regular basis. In the end, what you'll find is that you are just cruising and enjoying yourself in a G-wagen, going where you want when you want, where if I were in one of the jeeps, I'd be working hard to drive the same roads and trails, I can't see out of it as easily, plus when I get in and out of the jeep, I feel like I'm in a sardine can, but then I'm a big guy. So I suppose if you enjoy working hard to drive, being cramped, having to mod the truck before it's really good, and don't mind the regular break-downs, then a cheap jeep is the way to do. Thankfully we have choices, and although both vehicles are great vehicles in their own way, you do get what you pay for.
