      I noticed the lack of “Recovery” of some of these builds (like kraken) seems to leave you without much of a way to come back if your army doesn’t just decimate the opponent. What do you do if the opponent is able to successfully defend your push and you’re left with draining resources?

    • @baguetteDuGame
      @baguetteDuGame  Před rokem +1

      @@Alexjw1990 If he repells your push but has lost also his army + some villagers/tiles, then you won the trade and will probably recover faster.
      You should not let him time to recover and keep harrassing an army big enough to pass through villager defense (6/7 troops minimum).
      Or, you decide to turtle, scale by makings relics/upgrading camps/increasing recovery potential and chase passive victory.

      @@baguetteDuGame are you doing these builds on hard mode? Seems like when I do them on Extreme it doesn’t really go the way I thought. I typically need more food and other resources to sustain the population and building count of this size. Not to mention the constant battling NPCs. I have no problems in hard mode.

    First video I've seen from you and I gotta say I loved it! Awesome quality. However, for this build order, it feels like not having someone to scout for you will delay your attack, so for FFA it would be better to have at least one scout and upgrade the scout camp asap?

    • @baguetteDuGame
      @baguetteDuGame  Před rokem +1

      If you're alone, you'll have to upgrade your scout camp yes. What i recommend is call back your scouts like in the guide, and use winter to get 2 scouts out and at least scout the tiles surrounding your territory. In second winter, upgrade it and find the nearest townhalls and enemy base.

    It's good build but somethings doesn't make logic such as not having Scout camp. Your food also will be drain in minutes after the Convert. I feel like farming iron first and then making relic and grinding Wood/Food would be better cause you can have 2 Giants in like 803 i beleive. With Giant and Surtr you can farm for fame before getting attacked and clear camps easily that is around you.
    This way game takes longer but at least you will have stronger and more lasting army.

    • @baguetteDuGame
      @baguetteDuGame  Před rokem +3

      Destroying the scout camp (as explained in the video) is only for games where you have a scouter in your team. If you don't or playing solo, you will obviously keep it and even upgrade it.
      You can try to make the relic if you want.
      But Northgard is not about having the strongest army, it is about timing. If the opponent is not rushing in 801, you need to be prepared for early 802 (meaning have camps and all). 803, 95% of games are already finished. In 802 you will only have 1 giant or 2 at the end of the year. The price to get this giant is 2 villagers forging for 9 months, 2 villagers mining for 2 month, 100 krowns 50 wood.
      If you trade all that for more readiness in 802, you can surprise attack earlier or be able to defend slow rushes (early 802) and counter attack.
      As for food, i'm at -7 wihch is completely fine. The first fight will reduce that consumption and i can even call back sailors or woodcutter to not starve.

    • @dasnachtgespenst
      @dasnachtgespenst Před rokem

      I really like the build shown in this video. You can just build another food building + silo in the late game if you think that you need to keep your army for a very long time. Then you won't have any food issues at all.
      I also really like the relic but it feels a bit slow and if you lose a giant, you can only get it back after an eternity. However, clearing tiles with giants and having them in your army is fun. :D

    1st question: Has this changed until today, End of April 2024?
    2nd question, is Ox lategame military stronger? Is there another clan which is stronger than Dragon?
    Thanks :)

    • @baguetteDuGame
      @baguetteDuGame  Před 3 měsíci +2

      Dragon clan has been under some minor balancing patch but this build still works. There might be other findings now with better optimized builds but for average players its really ok.
      For the 2nd question, i think it really depends on a lot of things. Let's assume that it's 1v1, both clans have maxed military bonuses, warchiefs, weapons, spent same amount of gold for units... then its balanced.
      But Dragon will probably be better if its a a skirmish with a lot of units like 12vs12, because they do AOE.
      Against really good micro players, any clan that specify on ranged units like lynx will be better than dragon.

Since we sacrifice people and we can get unlimited thralls now wouldn't Baldr/Feeling safe with the Jar relic which feels like it was made for dragon be even more valuable? Could probably get population up to 25-30 with even more production easily no?
      or is skipping mining iron early, not forging a relic, and using jord blessing is the slight rush sacrifice we make to have so many in early/mid 02?

    brother, this is not the way you play dragon...
    1. never build breweries on dragon, the only happiness u need is provided by Feeling Safe lore.
    2. In lore you go Miners=>Shipbuilding/Coinage=>Carpentry=>Frenzy=>fur coats=>feeling safe=> Draconic Rage and then u can either take Legendary Heroes or Sharp axes.
    that way u have a lot of military tempo and can destroy everything in late 802-803
    feeling safe and draconic rage is absolutely essential for military strength. lores from the upper lane are not necessary at all
    3. One of the best dragon builds in the game is actually the early relic build. It provides you with incredible military abilities and does not lose much tempo if the spawn is good. and the classic non-relic dragon build is based on the clan's incredible tempo

      @@Tank-Dempsey It's not a bug. When you are in a game with teammates. If someone has built a relic, you cannot build the same.

    by half way through the first winter im nowhere near carpentry and iv got a longship dock early and one villager on a lore rock?

    • @baguetteDuGame
      @baguetteDuGame  Před 9 měsíci

      To get your 3rd lore during winter, you need an average production of 5.7 lore from beggining to December.
      You start below that, i'll give you that. But if you manage to get your loremaster quite early and your docks along the way, you end up being at +7/+8.
      Also, sometimes the essence bar will help you with lore.
      Not only having 3 lore in first winter is achievable, but with dragon it's even easier than other clans because he can clear himself early if the lore stone has a wolf on it.
