Tile Sticker | Best Bluetooth Tracker Review

- Reviewing the Tile Sticker, a fresh new Bluetooth tracker for 2019 that can be stuck to any item, to hunt it down if lost. Just pair up with the Tile app (for Android and iOS) and you can track the Stickers using BT tech, or rely on the community to find your missing gear pronto. I've been testing this new tech for a few days now and here's my thoughts, including a durability test, range, app features and how this version compares to the Pro etc.
The Tile Sticker has an adhesive bottom to attach to anything you wish to track over Bluetooth. The range is quoted at 45m, although it's less when walls and other obstacles are involved - but if your item comes within range of another user's app, the location will be updated. Here in the UK, you'll pay £35 for a twin pack.
You can also sign up for Tile Premium, a subscription service that offers bonus features including a 3-year warranty, smart alerts, location history and more. I've run through these extra bits here in my Tile Stickers review, so you know what to expect.

I use the Tile sticker on my tortoise! As you said, he burrows and goes walkabout in the garden in the summer, finding him at night in the bushes is easy with the Tile!
I'm worried about the strong adhesive of the sticker on the Tortoise's shell if you ever needed to remove the device
@@ignskeletons It's a bit unorthodox I guess to stick a Tile to a tortoise but I wouldn't worry too much. Tortoise's should shed and peel so at some point the tile will come off by itself.

At my new job I lost my master work keys in a snow covered parking lot and when reported it to security they informed me that it iwas going to cost thousands of dollars to re key every door in the resort. After spending an entire day searching for them and eventually finding them It has come to my attention that I am in desperate need of a serious key tracker.

Had the first generation of these tiles it never worked and my BBF’s would not shut up 🤐 it just made its noise randomly when ever it felt Like it! It became a house hold joke! This review helped massively with how to use and that they clearly have improved THANKS MATE!!

It’s a pity tile won’t ping off a normal Bluetooth signal .....rather than a tile app Bluetooth user,
If you loose something your really depending on it being found by another tile users phone which where I’m from is slim,
Plenty of Bluetooth users but not tile users
Is there a way for Alexa to disable the ringing once you find your device? I’m trying to figure out how to turn off the ringer on the tile sticker without having to press the physical title sticker button or the phone when it’s taken away from the property. Is there a way to turn off the ringer besides having to press the button?
Both the stickers I got in the essentials 4 - pack bundle stopped working within two months. The mate and slim still good at 9 months. Get the tile mate instead.
Cool review! I didn't know they made sticker like tiles. We have the Tile Mate ( the white ones) and love them! I have a tile attached to each pair of my son's glasses ( he's 6) no more lost glasses again!

Will it stick on the inside of a dog collar? I know they make air tags I just don’t like the look of it dangling I wanted to hide it just in case If my dog is lost they wouldn’t take the collar off

Was thinking to use a 2 part epoxy to fully embed this in objects. I don't care if the speaker works.
Like epoxy it to a pricier pair of earbuds or right into a surfboard or snowboard topsheet for travel purposes

As a tortoise owner I can attest to this. Lost my tortoise a few weeks ago. 😢 Bought the tile sticker so when I find the sneaky little scamp he doesn't escape again.

Hi I was wondering if someone stole my tablet will it still track if it's a good distance away?? I want to find something to hide in my kids tablet a family member stole one of my kids tablet .... Ricardo Cervera you can’t open the batteries sadly it’s hot wired to the motherboard you can’t change the batteries that’s why it comes with two so you can replace it later when the batteries die

Battery is sealed. It has a 3 year battery life. Tile will let you use reTile to get a new Tile Sticker cheaper when the battery is about to die on yours.

It seems to me thieves would pop these off first thing. How's that work? Unless you can get inside and hidden, it's useless for theft.
Hey! cool gadget. What if I stick it on to my keychain and I've left my keychain somewhere/lost it in a park. Would I be able to track it down and find it? How would that work?
When you set your Tile as lost in the app, the app on other Tiles users will anonymously find it for you just by passing nearby the Tile. Then it will alert the central Tile server which will relay the location information back to you. You just need to go to the location and use your app to find the Tile. You have the opportunity to anonymously thank the Tile user (who wasn't even aware that he/she helped). Very elegant solution. That said if you're using a keychain it's better to use a normal Tile or a Pro, they are designed for keychains, they have longer range and are louder than the Sticker.
One feature available in the premium is the smart alarm that gives you a reminder whenever your leave the Tile behind. As soon as the Tile looses bluetooth connection your app prompts you about it. I never used this premium feature on Tile. Earlier i used the brand Chipolo where this feature is available as standard, somehow their app did not work good enough with my Samsung phone so i switched to Tile. Chipolo worked better with my iPhone though.

I had a pair of the keyring trackers. I sent them back. Thought they were pointless as needed to be in range of Bluetooth on my phone. My fault for not checking before I bought them.

They utilize a list a found feature with other tile users. You can mark it as lost and when in range of other tile users it will update its location. It’s a bit wild you thought a full blown GPS device cost $15 with free location services.
How do you find the information for how many tile users in your area?
does it show on the other person's phone where it is?
Can someone please help me, can these be used if you've got no Bluetooth signal? Will the GPS still update on maps?

Ana Rodriguez you can buy new adhesives for it. you dont have to but tile recomends that every time you unstick it you apply a new adhesive for a stronger bond.these adhesives are sold on their websites
is this good for putting it on golf carts? or even a car?
What distance do you have to be between your device and your tracker in order for you to get signal?
I was interested in this too, as well as smart alerts. Obviously not enough time to cover these after the full and comprehensive examination of the tiles adhesive!

Yes if it would track down the item you wanted to keep from getting stolen it would be a great purchase at a higher price . It stuck really well and took a lot of abuse. We are looking for trackers like the CIA have that we can’t get to find our item and the thrift secondly. That’s what I want item that will track you through hell.

These stickers have 3 year batteries. As well as the new slim model. The original tile has a replaceable battery that will last based on the brand of it. I have had a tile over a year before needing to be replaced.

It only tracks within Bluetooth range as far as I know.

I bought a Tile to keep in my desk. It’s purpose is to find my cellphone, which I frequently misplace. Problem is it only rings the phone about 70% of the time ~ that’s not good enough. Then I bought a Mi Band 6 fitness band ( which I love ! ) It can ring my phone too, and does so every time, nice and loud.
My wifes tile rings her phone 99%. 1% o

If you actually watch the video you would have your answer if you see the guy using a pliers to rip it off etc and it won’t come off what would make you think you can take it off easily however if you do manage to take it off you can purchase adhesive to stick it on something else but it’s made to be set permanently on something
