この一帯で手に入る檜としてはなかなかの大きさです。
節のない美しい板が取れと嬉しいなぁ♪と期待しながら製材しました！

They should consider hiring an assistant to operate the mechanism which moves the log laterally for each cut. Having Papa-san climb over that log every time to make that adjustment scares the heck out of me!

The area where you live is famous for cypress. (*^_^*)
Is this Italian Cryprus it grows tall and straight here in the states has a great strong smell like Turpentine.
The Japanese have a cypress they call "hinoki." It grows slowly and get very large heights. Just as the bald cypress does.

I like how you go back over the fresh cut, to plane off some of the blade marks.

美しい美女なのに ただ一点の黒子とか痣があって残念なんて例はよくある話。
それが完全無欠となりゃぁ世が世なら殿様に見染められて大奥へ・・・・
田舎の素朴な娘と見えたのが・・・着替え、化粧すると・・・あっらぁ～ マイフェアレディ― ヘップバーン・・・・
まん丸で真っ直ぐな檜 十分に期待が持てますねぇ・・・・

檜はやはり香りは素晴らしいものがあります。
製材を生業にするものとしては、無節に出会えると嬉しいのですが、今はむしろそういった節や洞等が面白いと喜ばれる時代にもなりましたねぇ。(*^_^*)
