  • See our refreshed, revamped comparison video here! • ✧New✧ CELESTA vs KEYBO...
Hollywood film/TV composer, orchestrator, arranger, and keyboardist Geoff Stradling takes LA Percussion Rentals' Yamaha keyboard glock and Schiedmayer celesta for a spin. He demonstrates the timbres combined together, playing passages in unison, melody/harmony, in octaves, blocked chords, purely textures/sound effects, and more. The celesta and keyboard glock are similar instruments, but with very distinct timbres. However, the keyboard glock tends to be much harder to find than the celesta. Both keyboards shown here are professional, top-notch instruments from L.A. Percussion Rentals.

1:03 That's the Highest C on a Piano the Schiedmayer Celesta extends up to the F above that. Yamaha 56 Key Celestas and Keyboard Glockenspiels go to the G above that. Stuart and Sons 108 Key Pianos go up to the B above that G8.

Both are wonderful, but together, there's this distinct feeling of eating bread with potatoes. A bit too similar to fully work together...

Yes there’s some of that. Not sure this has been done before (and recorded) so we wanted to try it out!
