    Excellent report Chris what a fantastic hotel. Your multi course dinner in the Indian restaurant looked amazing, speaking as a life long fan of Indian food.....well I am British after all haha. I really want to visit India, I can't believe I have never been ( not including a technical stop at Mumbai on Singapore airlines flight back in the 90's ). Thanks for another report up to your usual high standards !

      Thank you dear John! If my channel should ever get growing, I'll invite viewers to join in a flight out am excursion - that would be so fun! I don't need to gain money for myself from the channel, but I'd love to do those things.... Let's see.

    Thankyou Chris, what an absolutely stunning hotel, it truly was a feast for the eyes, pure elegance and your review made me extremely envious! I'm already dreaming of sipping champagne in the lounge and dining in the wonderful Indian restaurant.
    I remember many years ago in my life at LGW there was a huge surge in tourism to Goa with the 'bucket and spade' airlines flogging 'affordable' package deals. I watch with interest to see how tourism is growing in this part of the world.
    Thoroughly enjoyable review Chris and thanks for playing my fav Grieg xx

    Another great video! I personally love the Leela brand! They execute their service beautifully without being too pretentious. Each of their hotels/ resorts tells a story of the city/ state they are located. The next time you must definitely try the Leela Kovalam. It is by far one of my favorite resorts in India. Their club rooms directly overlook the Arabian Sea 🤩
    Great to see you had such a good experience at their Delhi property. I will try it for sure!😍

      Thank you very much for this beautiful feedback! As you said: they're not pretentious - but they're perfect. That's the best combination.
      I will come back to India after this first experience and I'm looking forward to experiencing more of it

    We stayed at The Leela Delhi on the Club Floor for a week 1 year ago and it was just heaven. The rooftop pool was lovely. My only grip would be a lack of garden space to explore. We have also stayed at the Imperial in Delhi which is nothing in comparison.

      The Cocktail Bar / lounge bar was interesting - we were hit on by two Indian fellas, who actually had the front to ask if they could check out our room!!!! My look of pure distain was their answer...Even in the best places one can be surprised.@@TravelSingFlyEnglishEdition

    A great video that makes me want to visit and eat Indian food. BTW there is good Indian food in Germany, at least in Haidhausen area of Munich when I lived there some years ago.

    • @TravelSingFlyEnglishEdition
      @TravelSingFlyEnglishEdition  Před rokem

      I need to try that next time I'm in Munich.
      I just know that's there's only 2 real Chinese restaurants in Germany where you get Chinese food as it's cooked in China, one in Cologne and one in Hamburg. So I can imagine it's as rare with Indian restaurants.....

    Hi Chris, stayed here a few years ago and my partner ended up with delhi belly after a dodgy snack by the pool. Found staff very uncaring and cold (unlike every other indian property we stayed at) so whilst the hard product was lovely we wouldn’t stay again. Was very disappointed.

      Hi Angus! I'm very sorry to read that. I can only talk about my own experiences as a fully paying guest (none of my reports are sponsored, btw), and I had a beautiful time and staff were exceptional - not just to me but also to the other guests around. I was amazed to see this high level throughout the hotel.
      However, regarding food, I didn't eat a single piece of fresh produce during my stay in India. Also no streetfood, both raw and cooked. I only had fruit juice on the last morning at the hotel - where they cut the fruits fresh in front of my eyes, with handgloves, after washing everything in water from their very own water-cleaning installation. A single "mistake" can ruin a whole vacation

    The Oberoi Delhi is also pretty great.

    • @TravelSingFlyEnglishEdition
      @TravelSingFlyEnglishEdition  Před rokem +1

      Thank you, that's good to know. Maybe another time. However, I didn't choose the Oberoi because of its design which is too close to regular, newer super-luxury hotels in the world. What makes Indian palace hotels so special is that they are really unique.

      Thank you for saying that! It's a great hotel and I think I captured quite some of the essence of it. Unfortunately the hotel, where I stayed as a regular paying guest of course, didn't even reply with a short thank you so far...
