Fascinating!
People are replacing having children with getting dogs instead
cos its cheaper
Yup
It's a disease
As long the ummah dont do it im fine with it. Let them get disappear. Anyway these people are doing what is looked as cool. Im really happy that they can not influence the next Generations with their stupidity of being a Blind consumers! The religios Peoples will multiply which is a good thing to gain world peace. This was much needed. Have had many folks of a certain liberal persuasion reach out and justify their ownership of dogs as pets by using the supposed Maliki position. They mostly quoted Dr. Yasir Qadhi for the false position. I believe there’s a video of his out there, quoting a minority Maliki position on this without clarifying.

Yep, Humans first, cats second. Most rationally and emotionally sound position.
It's one thing to love one's own dog, like for hunting or guarding - but just to love "dogs" in a general sense and to put them above man is strange. People should love their own kid but for one to just love "kids" and consider them more socially important than man is creepy and bizarre.
SubhanAllah the way the deen forbade this it’s almost as if the deen knew that dogs as a pet would be a huge part of life in the future. Even in the old days in the West, having dogs in your house was seen as dirty and most families had dog houses.

Dogs in the past either were trained for a specific purpose or they were killed. People nowadays don’t understand how dangerous untrained roaming packs of Dogs are. Most untrained Dogs are aggressive towards people and there were no rabies shots or animal control agencies back then.
I had a coworker ask me why I don't have any dogs and I said that I didn't really like them. I think they're really gross but I didn't say that. She proceeded to tell me that she thinks their sanitary and that she loves them and that she needed to get her dogs anal glands drained - repulsive.
Tell her that you believe that dogs should be have naturally live like in its natural habitat and that dogs only should be for hunting or guarding/service and you are against neuter them or give them processed dogs foods .. etc

Utter nonsense. Wasting time playing with a dog! How do we know everything in the hadith is true. Muslims can't get along with each other but have time to vilify dogs. What a joke
Salemailikom, I'm a revert and I'm living with my kaffir parents, and they have a few dogs and I can't do anything about it. Will the angels not come in my house and will I still lose hasanat from it? JZK
Take it easy with calling your parents “Kuffar” bro…
Allah knows best. May your circumstances get better insh'Allah.
Pray for your parents and be careful calling them that term. InshaAllah you'll get much more hasanat.
He answered someone's question not long ago. Said try to make your room like separate from the house and inshaAllah Allah takes mercy on you. I'm paraphrasing, but you can't change others house rules.
@@truthlover4581 I guess he/she meant they have not accepted Islam yet. But the question still remains, BRO.
I wonder if the people who keep their dogs outside because of the Hadith about Angel Jibril refusing to enter the house also remove all pictures inside their house, as that was also mentioned in the same Hadith.
It is not all angels that don't come in the house Sheikh, there are many types of angels, some of which record your deeds, and they are all there., except the angels of rahma, mercy.
Then how is it possible that dogs were allowed into the Masjid during the time of the prophet (SAW)? What about the angels then? Genuine question.
Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari 174. In-book reference: Book 4, Hadith 40.
Indeed. This guy also doesn't explain why its not allowed. He only says that its a bit dirty. But that depends on each dog. Cause you have some dogs that are much cleaner than the other. It depends on each breed. Even some cats are dirty too. If your train your dog that he pees and shits on the right place than there is no problem. Cats are even more unpredictable than dogs. Even if your dog licks your hand you still have wudu for example, in the (Maliki madhab). So why can't you having him in your house? Weird video imo. Moving angels away doesn't mean that it is haram too. He has too much personal taste in his reasoning too, rather than giving real arguments.
@@issi529 I personally have no problem with there being a lack of explanation on why specifically a dog is not allowed. I don't ask why I can't eat pork -- Allah commands me not to eat pork in the Quran so I don't eat it. But with the case of dogs being a deterrent to angels, it doesn't line up with the historical evidences and sahih hadiths that mention dogs in many instances. How can a dog be allowed into a masjid but in the same breath be banned from the house. All in the name of the comfort of angels. Does this mean the angels were not present in the house of Allah? It doesn't make sense. Furthermore, he says that the saliva of a hunting dog is not najis but the saliva of a regular dog is. This also defies logic. I hope that these questions can be answered soon.
@@dryhug5084 I know what you mean but in this specific case its very important to give a real explanation why dogs are haram. Cause eating pork is just a wrong example. There are enough explanations that it is forbidden. This is not the case for dogs. I didn't heard one real argument or proof about it. And on top of that your story is also true. There is a unanimous agreement about not eating pork but thats not the case with dogs in your house. Very strange.
@@issi529 what I mean is that even if the explanations for eating pork weren’t present it wouldn’t matter bcs the Quran strictly prohibits it. So if it turned out that eating pork was actually healthy for you to eat or something I wouldn’t touch it bcs there’s an explicit prohibition of it with no contradictions in the Quran. Moreover, in the case with the dogs. If the Quran strictly prohibited dogs then I wouldn’t need any explanations because the wisdom is coming from the almighty. The only reason why I question the validity of the dog-in-the-house prohibition is because it doesn’t align with other hadiths such as the dogs being allowed in the masjid, the saliva of a hunting dog being pure, and the many stories that put dogs in a positive light throughout Islamic tradition and history. May Allah forgive me if I am wrong and guide me to what is true. I’m no scholar but I am a skeptic and will ask questions when things don’t sound right to me. May Allah guide us Allah for He knows best.
@@dryhug5084 Ameen. But my point is that the quran doesn't say anything about having dogs in the home is haram. Cause thats not true. They only have some vague hadiths from the prophet but there are other hadiths like you mentioned too. In the quran it says eating pork is not allowed thats not the case with dogs. Its completely different. So my question was not only on the why but where does it say that it is haram. If it was in the quran he would have said that. This was definitely not a good video. There is no explicit thing about dogs, thats the whole problem.
Is the guard and service dog qiyas legitimate and how
They are allowed. Just not live in the house. Garage yes. Dog house yes.
I'm a huge animal lover and I love dogs a lot. But yet I'm never gonna allow them in my house for the sake of ALLAH. I feed them as much as I can but not allow them in the house. People who have pet dogs, keep them outside. I know it's hard. I have pet cats and I know how much I want them to have everything. But if I had to choose between ALLAH's command and them then undoubtedly I'll choose to follow ALLAH's command. We need to love ALLAH more than anything. The moment you will love ALLAH more, it will be easy for you to leave literally anything.
May we please have the link to the next question Shaykh answered?
Salam Dr. Shadee, what is the ruling of people that classify pets such as dogs and cats, "Fur babies"?
😂😂 dude chill out .
are we not allowed to call our husband/wife babe or baby now either?
It’s really not serious.
I understand what you are saying, unlike the other reply. A court ruling recently stated that a dog was not property (i.e., a pet). Instead, they ruled the dog was a member of the family and not property. Yes, people are now calling their "pets" their children, and soon in a literal sense.
@@CurrentAssistant So, believing your "pet" is your child is NOT an exaggeration?
@@toolate6971 nobody who calls a pet a fur baby believes they birthed that literal animal.
@@toolate6971 I didn’t know about the court ruling that is interesting and obviously not a rational court ruling. However, labelling something as something else out of adoration and due to the responsibility you have over it isn’t haram. Allah says in the Quran that adopted family members are not real family members and are only that by name. He does not forbid having exaggerating names for people, just reminding us that it does not change sharia. A Muslim can call their dog a fur baby and think of itself as a parent for the pet but that is different to applying sharia where it pertains to children to sharia where it pertains to a pet.
...how do Malikis explain
(?)Authentic hadith about having to clean plates licked by a dog with earth?🤔
How about kids who are paid to watch the neighbors' dog while they are away? It includes playing.
He said don't keep in the house. Washing before pray is a separate issue.
Dogs are for Hunting and protection, and now can be used as see eye Dogs. Dogs should be kept outside.
I love dogs but they’re very dirty they shouldn’t be kept in the house. You clearly see the cleanliness in a house with or without a dog.
No they are not. Thats just your opinion. Many people have a clean house even with a dog. You must have had a horrible experience or something.
"Depression dogs. No". Interesting response that doesn't elaborate on a pretty notable issue.
اللهم صل على سيدنا محمد
And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger and fears Allah and is conscious of Him - it is those who are the attainers ~ Qur’an 24:52
What about cats?
He just said that he will *_“sleep like a baby”_* with a cat or kitten in his bed!!!
Cats are clean
He should rethink his position on cats. they can carry the same ticks and fleas that dogs carry. But that position would be a Fiqh issue and not a result of what prohibits angels from entering your dwelling. You wouldn't wash your hands in the litter box and then prepare a meal, but your cat will walk everywhere, literally.
@@0mar1948 No, they aren't. If you allow them outside, they typically catch rodents and bring them back into your home. They carry diseases just like dogs. They don't mind going to the litter box and then walking all of your kitchen counters. Cats are clean?! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Cats are constantly grooming themselves
I love dogs but for Allah sake I dont get one, Allah knows its not good for us , he knows better
Interesting how you cited qayrawaani even though you considered him to be a wahaabi
Excuse me. Then how did the dog sleep with Ashab al-Kahf in the cave? Jibril didn't come to the house because the puppy was dead, and then narrators must've assumed that angels don't like dogs in general, or they confounded the issue with the issue of dogs that suffer from rabies. That would mean that Jibril wouldn't appear above Jabal an-Nur, because there were dogs sleeping outside in Mecca.
The dog of Ashab al kahf was a guard dog. It even mentions that he slept at the entrance of the cave. So it comes under the exception that the sheikh mentioned. Also the sharia of that time could be different. Lastly, a cave is not comparable to a house.
Different era, different ruling. For example, alcohol is haram but during the time of the Prophet we have stories of the Sahaba drinking alcohol and the prohibition comes slowly and little by little.
@@Someguyonline001true but what is clean is clean and what is not is not.
@@Really_Biggah Bingo! Allah makes it very clear the position of the dog with respect to the young men.
@@Someguyonline001 different era, different behavior of angels? It doesn't make sense. What makes sense is that the Prophet ordered the killing of dogs with rabies and then people started to dislike dogs in general and then invented ahadith.
I love animals because they are not capable of evil like humans...... the rest is all just hot air.
In the past, there would be packs of dogs roaming the city streets. Most of the carry diseases as there were no veterinarians back then for dogs. They were a nuisance for women and children trying to walk around the city.
Saying Allah created us to dislike creatures (cockroach) seems wrong. Feels like a blame on Allah. Maybe there's a different way you could be saying it.

There are many holes in this statement.
(1) He insinuates that dog excrement is najis because dogs eat meat. In contrast excrement of ducks sheep, etc is not najis because they are herbivores. Mistake 1…dogs and ducks are both OMNIVORES.
(2) It makes absolutely no sense to put a guard dog in a garage or backyard. The valuables to be protected (Human life) are INSIDE the house. The dog had one job and you made it ineffective.
Instead of re-examining the ahadith to make sense of them (either they were for a specific time and purpose or not sahih) we’ve resorted to make nonsensical statements.
I mean there are holes in your statement too:
1. He did not make that statement though. That's what you have interpreted.
2. He never suggested garage for a guard dog. He said keep it outside (0:30) which makes total sense. They are used to deter intruders / detect potential threats and respond if someone approaches your property.
1. He specifically mentioned the excrements of dogs and contrasted its excrements to that of ducks, goats and sheep. He SPECIFICALLY pointed out that these animals are herbivores and is not like that iff a dog’s. There is not other reason to point out the diet of these animals unless he was using that information to make a point…that is why we use words after all. Otherwise stating that these animals are herbivores and their excrements not najis and contrasting that to a dog’s excrements was superfluous. My point still stands.
2. Not worth typing to explain
@@SomeofThisSomeofThat 1. Your point doesn't stand because original you claimed he said it's "because they are herbivores" when he didn't say that. You can call it superfluous but again he didn't say dog excrement is najis because they eat meat.
