Video 12 of asking Kyle Reid to review Blood Visions by Jay Reatard
If you like Crumbling by Mid-Air Thief then I think you would like any album by The Books (especially Thought for Food). It’s a little les electronic but it’s still in that folktronica genre!
Edit: Didn’t realize you put The Way Out as one of your favourite albums
If you ever do this again, I suggest NF’s album hope, that’s the biggest thing I’ve ever disagreed with Fantano calling not good
The thing with angelic 2 the core is, yeah, it's pretty awful when you look at it. BUT when you listen to it, you are thoroughly entertained, not in that it's GOOD but it's definitely entertaining. Kinda like the room
Yes, this exactly
exactly, i love that album for how bad it is. something like imagine dragons is bad but in a way where there is nothing enjoyable at all and i want it turned off
Well you can tell that Corey is trying something. Much like The Room, with Tommy trying to tell a story. Both are poorly executed with baffling choices; but are better than souless cash grabs like Imagine Dragons.
this is how i've always thought of it. i dont hate it. its an experience.
i try to look at it that way but asking someone to sit down and listen to it in its entirety is a form of torture im pretty sure
Glad that you agreed with Total Xanarchy being one of the greatest acoustic techno albums of our millennium 🙏🙏
I agreed with fantano’s choice to give total xanarchy a 10/10.
Total Xanarchy is Atrocity Exhibition’s evil twin
retarded cousin
Wait how 😂😂😂
Thank you for acknowledging that Muse used to be good... I feel like because their new stuff is so corny that people forget that they had some really strong and innovative albums back in the day. Origin of Symmetry still is one of my favorites
The first four albums are great, although you can see the cracks starting to show on BH&R. Everything since then is at best meh.
Not Fantano content but I'd like a video where you find a dozen random absolutely unheard of albums - like
This is actually an interesting idea!
11:55 so basically all Dj Khaled does is that he finds the most popular producers and rappers, basically has them make a song and then slaps his name and puts all the corny catchphrases over it. And yeah, that's basically what he does and did for this album
That makes so much sense
@@KyleReidMuhe used to actually be a pretty sweet dj tho he didn’t just spawn out of nowhere
Really glad to hear you liked the Peep album to a certain degree! It’s prob my fav emo rap album ever and I like a lot of his other stuff to. This was a great vid tho and I’d love to see a part 2
I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
have you heard all of his projects?
@@user-um4ki5xj7y yep. Even the SoundCloud stuff and EPs
Luv is rage 2 is my favorite emo rap album
His other projects are honestly a whole lot better imo
i remember finishing my first listen of Angelic 2 The Core on Spotify
and right after the last song finished playing it showed those “recommended songs that sound like” this album and Marlene Dietrich by black midi came on LOL
They are the same
14:52 this one of the most respectable album of all time... i dont want to be living in a world where Angelic 2 the core doesnt exist, corey saved the music game
So true
@@KyleReidMu and I really believe it when u said, you'll be listening to the album again lmao
Great video, love this channel. love to see a part 2.
Great vid as always. It’d be cool if you reviewed the Fantano 10s (To Be Kind, You Won’t Get What You Want, etc.)
Definitely interested in doing that!
@@KyleReidMu also the ones he mentioned in the 'these albums are 10/10s (00s/90s/80s/70s)' videos
bro why are you on every music video i see
@@wuckdorth chronically online at any given moment (we both have good music taste as well)
WE NEED A PART 2
I actually really like this video. I really don't care about the subject matter I can't lie but the way that you talk and edit really hooked me. You've definitely earned a new sub! Keep on rockin' in the free world
The origins gameplay in the background when talking about the imagine dragons album was a nice touch
We need a review of every 0 he's given, I'd love to hear your opinions on them!
Aye dawg this the video I’ve seen of urs and ur gonna get big keep it up🚀
Listen to speedin bullet 2 heaven. Everyone says it’s cudi worst album including Fantano but idc what anyone says it slaps
I'm scared of this one
@@KyleReidMu it is long and the beevis and butthead sketches are a bit annoying and there’s a few bad songs but no unbearable songs. Most of the songs are good and there’s also some beautiful songs like the opening song.
@@Caelumreddingcap
@@Caelumreddingyb better
No
I can’t listen to Angelic 2 the Core without laughing 😭
You got other people's opinion about Angelic 2 the Core wrong.
People _hate_ it as people _hate_ The Room or YIIK. And by that i mean people adore these projects 'cause they're very interesting experiences as they're fundamentally broken yet you can actually enjoy these, you can find appeal on these, even if it seems you shouldn't on paper. It's the very rare (specially if unironic) "so bad it's good."
Ya that makes a lot of sense
I found your channel recently and I really love it, I was wandering if u have ever listened to any music by bright eyes
Thank you! I'm glad you like the channel. I don't listen to Bright Eyes unfortunately
was relieved that come over when your sober was the one that was spared
11:55 DJ Khaled is like a movie producer but for music, without being a music producer...
lol
@@KyleReidMu You should do a dive into DJ Khaled lore (music, beats, stage dive💀, viral moments, insta stories, TRIP LORES)... It's a topic I would usually think u can cover the best, no joke...
This is a really cool video :)
BRO I JUST SAW MY OWN FACE
Yoooo Pinely appearance!
I agree with him on green day and muse. Haven’t listened to the rest of them
Fantastic video!
Underrated channel
the mac demarco and logic songs are fr just mac demarco song throwaways 😭😭
The one that really made me scratch my head was the Meshuggah Not Good review. The Violent Sleep of Reason is in their list of bests for most die hards of the band and is still a heavy af and super memorable metal record. I sometimes watch that review and think he definitely was either having a bad day or just was so not into the idea of trying to listen to a new metal record that he just took it out on that album. The comment section for it is mostly people calling him crazy for having such a negative response to what’s a super solid metal release for that year.
Yeah, that's the one that made the least sense to me. It's definitely one of my least favourite Meshuggah albums, but the "Not Good" label seems to imply some kind of technical incompetence or inability to execute a concept effectively, which are definitely not accusations that you can level at that album. Fair play if he didn't enjoy it, give it a 4 or something. But to call it "Not Good" makes zero sense to me, especially in the context of the other albums in that category.
Gotta love the origins gameplay during origins review
come over when you're sober is like genuinely a 10 imo, it's 7 perfect rock produced emo rap songs that all have stuck with me and there were meaningful real moments in my life involving them. U said, with the "sometimes life gets fucked up, that's why we get fucked up" specifically was the song i put on when i was going thru really difficult things, stressful moments, losing friends. i love that album and i understand why everything doesn't hit the same for all listeners but i really can't overstate how important peep is and that album is to a lot of ppl.
also like you said, it probably wasn't meant for Fantano. and songs like Save that Shit and Benz Truck are so fucking good, absolute fucking bangers, have a lotta good memories singing those in my car with friends
I agree, arguably one of my top five albums ever
Number 1? Romeos Regrets by Peep and Bexey
@@kratosdogg8152 100% i think it's one of peep's best, definitely the only one atm i can say i whole heartedly love every single track on. altho i probably listen to stuff on hellboy more
peep is aight but 10 is crazy
My favourite reid since riley
This one's is crazy haha
Kyle is for sure my favorite music content creator on CZcams... not to mention he has pretty good music too.
Thank you!!
Yeah for real xD
Didn't know he made music, where can I find it
@@hikikomori_3708 Any platform you stream. His most recent album is called From the Fifth floor.
Hard disagree on “Stoney”, but that’s because I have memories and emotional stuff attached to some songs on there. Couple of instrumentals are a huge vibe too. I can see why people think it’s not good, won’t argue about it. But I have a soft spot for some of the tracks on there, man…
Otherwise - liked and subscribed, your video style is awesome, keep it up!
I can totally see why some people would enjoy it. I'm glad you liked the video!
Fall apart, deja vu, go flex and white Iverson are really nice
I bet his opinion on Come Over When You’re Sober pt 1 has changed over time.
Me when citizen gets erased
Apparently a lot of muse die hard fans got butthurt about fantano's review
Great video
You really should do a part 2 will Avenged Sevenfold's "Life Is But A Dream..."
I love this album for how different it is
Never thought he’d do it but when I herd about it I knew we’d get a fantano coping masterclass
I was hoping he’d cover it here too but I’m guessing the script was done already/maybe isn’t a sevenfold guy so it wouldn’t be worth
I don’t understand how he gave futures hndrxx a not good
unbelievable tbh
I've checked out a couple tracks off of two of these; the Muse album, and Angelic 2 the Core. If I had to choose to listen to one of them again, I'd pick Angelic. At least it's kinda funny.
Angelic is probably the only album in this video that I would actually listen to again from front to back lol
@KyleReidMu It's the epitome of "He's confused, but he's got spirit." There's effort and ambition, just not sufficient skill to pull it off.
angelic 2 the core is definitely “bad” but its so entertaining, im so glad it exists. imagine dragons is bad but with no entertainment value in my opinion and it just annoys me
True
I’ve attempted to watch Fantano before but had a hard time. I’m a huge music fan and it was difficult watching him say Fiona Apples’a “Fetch The Bolt Cutters” was a great album while trashing each track as he was listening to each of them.
This video was very refreshing to say the least.
DJ Khaled assembles people together on tracks is the best explanation. And adds a shitton of his trademark adlibs to make it obvious its "his song" lol. But to be fair he has put together people that have made some great tracks over the years. But yeah its crazy you can do what he does and become a multimillionaire in our society
What are your thoughts on that Frank Ocean song that is basically a direct copy cover of Coldplay "Strawberry Swing" Kyle? Basically a direct copy but slightly different lyrics
I don't really listen to Frank or Coldplay
@KyleReidMu riiiiight but check it out if you get a chance. It's like what Rihanna did with that Tame Impala song where she basically did karaoke over the original song lol
The come over when your sober is a great album in my opinion
If you do a part 2 you should cover Life is But A Dream by Avenged Sevenfold.
Unironically saying 'Average music listener' is wild, nice video.
4:13 i’m so stealing that
half of these it’s crazy it exists
4:18 Maggi noodles at the back ( o_o )
Any of the songs of these albums made it on your playlist?
"its not for me" and "i dont remember it" ...great review skills right there
Stoney is actually really fucking good: go flex, congratulations, white iverson, go flex, Deja vu, feeling Whitney, all of those are bangers
I just commented these songs
Good vid
You look like if Anthony Fantano and Logic had a baby
HAHA
I’ve found that this man sometimes lets his preferences get in the way of objective analysis. I get he doesn’t like a chunk of rap music just off the jump, but I cannot for the life of me understand how on a technical level (and even comparing an artist’s work to new releases) how he can dislike music like NF’s hope unless, as he said, he assumes things of the artist like “melodramatic” when Nate is an extremely honest artist!
you should review the albums with a 10 to see if they are overrated or not
I think you and Anthony Fontano are both awesome I'm a very different Anthony Tho lol.
Letssss goooooooo
Clicked for the peep rating left satisfied ❤
Mad respect for you to listen to all these "Not Good" albums, how did you not want to stop listening to it ? I think I would have lost my mind if I listened to Post Malone, Bieber, Khalid, and Drake albums, I often find it hard to listen to a single song by them, let alone a full album. Love your takes, keep it real man
yo let's go
clint stevens energy
This video made me find out that Sunflower is a Post Malone song
lol
Kyle Reid is my goat
Citizen erased let's goo
sniffing what im scratching lmao
🤯
Come over when you’re sober: 8/10 I absolutely love it, I have great memories with it but hos mixtapes were better. The production is a bit trashy but that’s what makes the album so raw
Honestly Nevermind ain’t entirely trash, it got 3-4 songs I really enjoy but the rest is beyond ass
7:57 why in god’s name is the origins cutscene playing in the background
you should review fantano 10/10s
Do part 2
That Lil Peep album was solid.
Facts
I always thought fantano was a bit hard on peep
Stoney is a solid album
imagine caring what The Fantano thinks lol
sticky on honestly nevermind is one of the hardest drake tracks
Considering that Lil Xan himself says he hates Total Xanarchy, I think it's safe to say it's bad
1:18 that's absolutely a reference to "life's a bitch" by nav
Post Malone Stoney is fucking goated wtf...
I called (I fall apart) being a hit way before it actually became a hit.
Angelic 2 the core is a masterpiece.
fr fr
the absolute FEAR i felt when i saw cowys on the thumbnail is indescribable (since i tend to unfollow people based on their ungrounded Lil Peep slander and i really did not want to unfollow Kyle), but ofcourse the man came through with a respectable take and opinion
good 👍
your videos and personality remind me of Nickisnotgreen a lot, earned a new sub
He gave For Those That Wish To Exist a not good? Thats actually insane lmao
i enjoy total xanarchy but to each there own
Awesome video and you are very Handsome.
Origins wasn’t too bad tbh. Loved Natural, West Coast, Birds, thought Cool Out, Boomerang & Bad Liar was decent. But yeah I can agree that it was pretty corny and kinda repetitive
11:55 DJ Khaled just reunite famous music ppl to make mildly catchy songs and yells "WE DA BEST MUSIC" sometimes
that's literally it, he doesn't do anything else
Makes sense
pretty sure everyone agrees angelic 2 the core is so bad its good- i dont think anyone actually HATES it with a passion or hates it bc others hate it like you said in the vid
I don’t like any drake album except Honestly Nevermind lol. My love of house music may have influenced that, but it was very fun to me
Life Is But a Dream by Avenged Sevenfold is actually really good. Love the production as well. Sounds like a real band unlike a lot of modern rock/metal
Cosmic is a beautiful song
pinely drop, nice
do miley cyrus & her dead petz. most misunderstood album of all time
Bang me box is one of my fav songs ngl but I'm also madly in love with Miley so that's probably why lol
DUDE not even fucking joking when i say the honestly, nevermind take was my exact take. i love the instrumentals on that project and thought they were really cool but holy shit drake's lyrics are actually terrible. if he just kept the instrumentals and no vocals it would've been at least a 7 for me.
I feel like the project would’ve been wayyy better if it was instrumental. Some parts still would’ve been boring but at least it would’ve been listenable
He gave Daydream Nation a fucking C tier. You should review that album.
review every fantano 10 or 0?
I like it
THE FIRST SONG IS NOT BAD OF ANGELIC OF 2 THE ECORE THAN KYOU
My experience with Muse was a lot like most peoples' experience with crypto.
Buy high, sell low.
Part 2
