    I will definitely be throwing more of the C-Mac worm after that pool footage! Even when the bait was still the tail never stopped moving. Incredible action. I really appreciate your humility about just getting started with underwater footage and asking for the viewers patience. As a long time FTM subscriber, that’s something I can certainly do and that in my opinion, Jonny has earned through his dedication to his viewers. Welcome to the FTM team. Keep em coming. 😀👍🏼

    Small hops vs strokes. Dragging vs slow reeling. Twitching vs straight retrieve. All of these things on each lure video you do.

    been a while since one of these vids came out. A cool test i'd like to see is the actual difference between braid/flouro/and braid to flouro on depth and casting distance for cranking. Like if i use a 12lb flouro vs a braid with the equivalent diameter to 1lb mono (i have 12lb japanese braid with 0.06mm diameter), do i actually have my crankbait dive deeper or shallower? Would be awesome to see it on livescope. Rather then the same old quip for the last 10 years "dont use braid it floats" from the fishing industry. Because i'm betting thin braid casts further AND dives deeper. There's less resistance from the super thin line.

    • @ricksonora6656
      @ricksonora6656 Před 2 lety

      Buoyancy is a function of a material’s density compared to that of water. A thinner line has less resistance cutting through the water, so it gives more freedom to lures such as crankbaits. But making a solid material thinner does not influence its buoyancy.

    The most under rated worm out there is the 10" Big Bite Bait Kreit tail worm, I've done real well with the Tilapia color. If you want a big worm that the tail stands up try the Xcite bait Maximus which is a 10" straight tail that has caught me a lot of big fish.

    Y'all should look into that submersible fish finder drone and that way you can really follow a retrieve for buzz baits and stuff. That would be really cool, to follow a bait for a full retrieve and catch how fish react, the action, blow ups, the whole nine yards man.

    Great idea for a series!
    As you experiment, watch for common characteristics. Then design your tests to measure. For example, how long does it take the main body to lay down, and how long does the tail take?
    Showing the action is a great idea. I suggest adding a fish tank so you can show close-ups.

    These underwater comparison videos are great. If you do more color comparisons, it would be interesting to know details on water clarity and light intensity when you're shooting the videos. Something simple like a light meter app for your phone and a measurement of how far down you can see a 3" white lure or something for the water clarity. As far as other baits to test underwater action, I'd like to see how various skirt materials look (rubber vs hair vs ....).

    I think it is great that you guys are looking to do more with the underwater footage. It can be invaluable. You already have good content so I look forward to you guys building on that with the underwater footage. You don't need to be crazy like the hook & look channel just basic can be a lot. Seeing what different baits can do underwater I think is very important. Where i live there are not as many clear bodies of water so when I get to a body of water that is clear I use that as a chance to view some baits that I may not be familiar with. Definitely excited for thsi!

    Are there any ribbon tail worms that are advertised as floating? Zman does not make one. If there are those would be nice to see. Different jigs with different trailers. Football head, Round head, Arkie head and different trailers. That could be 3 episodes. Jonny did videos for Carolina rigs and Shaky heads. Maybe an update to those. I don't know if you need the lake water view. Not unless you can get clearer water. But if you do lake water views, how about giving the depth of the water you are throwing them in? That might be an episode in itself. What colors show best at different depths in different water conditions.

    You don’t mention the way you rig the worms. I have always rigged worms on the opposite side from what it looks like you have these rigged. There is a lot of people who rig worms differently. I would like to see a pool test on worms rigged on the top,bottom or the side too see which way has the most action. I use the hook on the side that the tail curls towards. It seems to get the most action. For an example I rig a curly tail grub with the curl downwards.

    Jimmi, hope I spelled it right! First, relax on camera. You look alittle nervous we won't laugh, some of us Yankees might poke some fun at the accent but it's all in fun. My German & Spanish I get the same reaction. The content is good as always, the visibility underwater is a tricky thing. Different waters have different effects on on colors. There's clear, green, and different levels of muddy and even a coffee color to. Do you run two bobber stops, it helps give the bait some freedom. One stop above the weight and one below to save the knot and give some freedom to swing or float. I knew I like red for a reason. Zoom use to make a color called "tomato" And I loved it. I've been fishing for 45+ years and I think I have just about every color made. You and Jonny have a good day and keep up the good work.

    I’d do away with the muddy water test because it’s hard to see the action. I wonder if doing the pool test early or late in the day would knock some of that surface ripple reflection down? The sun wouldn’t be overhead, or maybe shoot on the shady side of the pool when the suns low.
