Very helpful. Thanks Erwin. FYI, King Crab as the locals call it is simply branding. Meaning, if it is King Crab then it must be big, heavy, and tasty. Growers may call their products however they want to emphasize distinction for marketing purposes...

The folks in the Island havent heard of the "King Crabs" that westerners know about, for them the large crabs that are found in their island that is amazingly big compared to all the over Mud Crabs that are found in the rest of Caraga Region or in the entire Mindanao is the biggest so they call them King Crab. Simple folks who are just not into the entrep and scientific nature of the name calling. Long before any NGO's started helping them on livelihood the mud crabs that are large in this part of Siargao had been called "King Crabs" :)

technically it was written since 2015 in the description box that it is mudcrabs but thank you for the comment...
It is quite obvious in the description since this was uploaded back on January 2015, written about the video that it is MUD CRAB ... The term KING CRAB is coined by the locals to describe the size of the crabs which is known to be the biggest in the entire Caraga Region in terms of size and consistency of having the same sized in majority of the time. Other towns within Caraga Region might have large mud crabs, specifically the provinces of Surigao del Sur and Surigao del Norte but not the same in numbers and sizes to that found in the small town of DEL CARMEN, SIARGAO ISLAND.
