- HUGE 10.6M 130KG 4 Engine WW1 Bomber ZEPPELIN STAAKEN R.VI | ProWing 2023
Powered by 4 DLA 116 inline twin cylinder engines with a total weight of 130KG. This model is 1:4 scale. The original Zeppelin Staaken had over 40 metre wingspan.
Pilot Helmut Müller and his flying pals Günther and Ludwig did a fantastic job in building this awesome machine. This model took 3 years to build.
Filmed by Dom Mitchell for the 'Essential RC' CZcams channel at the ProWing Show in Bad Sassendorf, Germany using the Panasonic HC-X2 4K camcorder.

That is one of the most impressive models I have ever seen! The sheer size of it is staggering. Thanks for finding and filming this one Dom. Awesome. Cheers!
As an A&P mech and aviation buff, WWI aviation history enthusiast and having built RC planes myself - what I see here: is - well: an airplane. Not an RC airplane. It's just simply an airplane, built of same procedures, materials and all. Seemingly period true. Only SLIGHTLY smaller! I also see a hint of love.
I absolutely love model aviation. I’ve built so many flying and static models over my 60 years. But at what point do you ask yourself, “with all this time, money and dedication, why don’t I just get my pilot license?” Which I did at 59. But still, I do admire the dedication of these model aviators.
Truly astonishing. The huge scale of this, coupled with the unusual and challenging choice of marque, with its 'pusher/puller' nacelles is brilliant. I have rarely been so impressed with a giant scale, well maybe you could say 'mega scale' model as this one. My heartfelt congratulations to all involved. Hugely atmospheric and impressive. 🌟👍
I'm sure, for the German aviators of the Great War, flying the full sized beast took some damn cool nerves. Come to think of it, flying a massive model like that today is only a little less hair raising! Smooth flying is the key.
Amazing! Thanks for posting. We would never see the real thing flying, so this is as good, or better, as it gets.😊
OMG - what a superb “model” - it looks like the wingspan is wider than the Civil Registered single seat Taylor Monoplane I built years ago. Awesome 👍🇦🇺
A brilliant example of modelling and flying; particularly liked the crew.
Wow! That's a work of art! I believe a youngster could lay on top of the fuselage and it'd probably still fly. Wunderbar!
Wow.. this is so huge 😮
Byłem na lotnisku Bad Sassendorf ale ten cudowny model widzialem tylko na ziemi. Dziękuję bardzo za ten film ! 👍👋👍🛩️✈️👍
WOW😳!!! What an unexpected treat. I never heard, of this WWl plane before, as it's German, and I really don't study WWl aircraft, too much. Impressed that the company 'Zeppelin', actually delved into airplanes, and not just dirigibles.
WWI tricycle gear, thats got to be VERY rare.
Wonderful!! I am mesmerised by this behemoths progress through the air. Even as a model.Thank you for posting
An amazing piece of Aero engineering. Thanks a lot.
Wow what an incredible machine, she looked a little bit pitchy at times though 🤔👍
Wow! What a aircraft. Well done and nicely flown. Yes, the pitching. Thinking it could be too much elevator throw or maybe needs some exponential.
Замечательная посадка! Отличный пилотаж, браво!
Beautiful landing at
