    Hey great video, I would just suggest that when airing down, yes you get sidewall flex, but your traction come from the surface area that you get under the tire. What I mean is that as the tire is aired down, the tire gets longer (front to Back) this is what increases your surface area. Some tires depending on whether they are a C, D, or E rated tire will have stiffer sidewalls and you wont get much flex depending on what tire and rating you go with. Great video keep it up.

    • @svsleipnir
      @svsleipnir Před rokem +1

      That is correct. The added width is literally irrelevant in comparison to the added length of the contact patch.

    Yes but do this to often your tires will wear a lot quicker because the lower the psi the lower your tire weight rating thus increasing wear

    Alex. Aired down for the first time on my '22 Rebel...Made a huge difference! I was on some Appalachian mountain trails though and not sand. Just mud, rocks and dirt. Great video as always! Bill from Linglestown, Pennsylvania

    Great video Alex.
    I recently put on 315 Baja Boss ATs on my 22 Power Wagon and so far night and day compared to the stock Duratracs. Quieter, more comfortable on road, better traction off road. Equivalent size to 35s with higher payload rating. Haven't tried snow yet but we'll get some shortly in Calgary and can't wait to try. Keep up the videos!

    • @chadfinlay4086
      @chadfinlay4086 Před 2 lety

      Curious to how you find them in the snow. I put on a set of 35x12.5x17 Geolander MT's and same thing, way better ride than the duratracs and the traction all around is amazing so far. I actually am quite surprised how much better the ride is now. Not the reason I bought them but definitely a very nice additional benefit!

    • @TheGettyAdventures
      @TheGettyAdventures  Před 2 lety

      very Interesting about the ride quality. I would of thought the D rated duratracs would of provided a nice soft ride to begin with. I am probably going to go the same direction as you. 305 or 315 wide 35inch tires. not sure what brand or tire. I like the duratracs because they are good in the snow compared to most all-terrain. I probably won't run a dedicated mud tire, just don't see the point have winter for 5 months of year in Fredericton (not as cold as Calgary but we do get TONS of snow). I'll have to do some searching to see what I can find!

    • @stuart7414
      @stuart7414 Před rokem

      @@TheGettyAdventures I probably should have mentioned I'm running the new Baja Boss AT's (not the full mud tire). As I mentioned quieter, smoother and I was off road this weekend and grip/ride was better than Duratracs (or at least seemed to be). Not sure on how they'll do in snow, but I'll know soon enough.

    Great video Alex! Suggest you save up and get the new Milwaukee M18 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Inflator. It airs up the tires in my PW in about 5-6 minutes each. Also, for slow driving without sharp turns, I'd feel comfortable going down to 15 psi, but you need to have portable way to air up. Thanks.

    You need Carli Dominator suspension!! With this suspension there is no axle hop, even when your tires are fully aired up. You need some engine mods too. I've said it before man!! I'm gonna buy a PW and do the mods and make videos!! I'm coming for ya Alex!! 🤣👊👍

I mean the channel is growing but I still don't have that kind of money to throw around lol but I also don't want some cheap set up either. what kind of engine mods would you want to do? like you would be probably an extra 200 horse to make this thing actually kind of fast.

    Hey man. Alway appreciate the vids! Got a question not really related to this vid. Hope you don't mind. I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Warlock w 37s and 392 gears, an exhause and an Edge Pulsar. I haven't drove a stock 1500, so i don't know the difference from stock, but its pretty nice. Looking to get a Power Wagon. I've test drove a few stock Power Wagons now and they don't get up and go like my 1500. Is that because of the 410 gears, or because of the upgrades on my truck? Im looking to put 35s or 37s on the Power Wagon i purchase. Thanks in advance!

    Air down does work. Add friction meaning more area for the tire to bite. Aired-up tires are less area on the road, which is bad. Great gas MPG with aired up tires. Bad MPG with deflated tires.

    i have a 2022 ram 1500 laramie 4x4 that my work pays for, i took it to pismo dunes towing my camper and then i took the truck out on the dunes. the 4 high doesnt turn traction control off and is FUCKING WORTHLESS on these new dodges. the traction control will prevent tire slip in the sand in 4 high. the default mode of 4 wheel drive LEAVES THE TRACTION CONTROL ON!!!!!! i aired down the truck and still wouldnt budge. had to get towed out and costed $300. then i google and saw on reddit someone mentioned the bullshit traction control that comes standard in 4wd in a new dodge. i disabled it entirely by pulling the traction control fuze , put it in 4 low and was crawling up every sand dune in pismo on stock tires aired down to 15psi. never in my life have i had a 4x4 that when you put it into 4 wheel drive, it literally limits tire slip and renders itself useless....................... id never buy a new dodge they are such pieces of shit lol, i get a brand new one for free every year and have for 10 years, i still wouldn't buy one.
