I used a product called zinsser BIN , had it tinted to almost post box red, for a customer's bi-fold doors which had turned salmon pink. She was going to fork out for a new pair so it saved quite a few pounds. The finish couldn't be any better. highly recommended, they also do a water based called allcoat, I use that regularly the black is the best I have ever used.
i've just bought Allcoat in gray for uPVC, 2018 door and windows, so i hope the weather has taken off some of the plastic anti-paint quality. I wish a follow up was put on all these youtubers painting plastic, see how it really fares after a year or so.

I used to have to paint meter boxes for one of the companies I worked for . if I ever have to do this I will now know it is possible and the only difference is I would whip the letter box and door handle off only cause over time the letter box can move slightly or if ever needs replacing can end up being a little difference size . fantastic to watch you do this
How to paint a COMPOSITE front door .That is a fiberglass door old bean hence the fact you could paint it ,and did not try to paint the upvc outer frame.
Yes a composite it is and at the time of this being posted painting upvc was rare however now everybody is painting their brown upvc windows Anthracite grey due to advances in paint he still thought he was painting one with normal paint at the time 👍🏼

Except the door he painted in the video is a fibreglass door and not a uPVC door. A plastic (uPVC) door has no grain. He is advising us to follow the grain while calling it a plastic door. Very misleading.
Great video. I have a door like that when the paint has flaked off in bits, sanded it down but there are areas which feel pitted - do I need to use a filler to flatten the surface or just paint straight over and let the paint even the surface put? Thank you.
So we should paint over the hinges? I was thinking of masking taping them? Also can it be easier to take the door off to paint? if you have someone who can hang doors ok. Also should I make sure the brush is new?
Wash PVC why most plastic have a processing finish. Sanding will or may not remove the stuff. Detergent wash and water rinse Trim Dry then solvent wash. Water will remove any water base contaminates Solvent wipe removes any oil based. You can then lightly buff surface with scotch brite or sand clean prime with latex dry paint with latex.
Nice job Wallington. I've noticed New Companies "spraying" Upvc doors /windows. . Does anyone think it will "peel off due to UvA sun , and some upvc doors tend to go very hot or cold.

Sorry mate but you dont paint a door like this, you do all the mouldings first, you also went all the way across on the cross sections causing an overlap on the straights, the door is going to be full of ladders and overlaps.
Edges drying all over the place.. .will show through ...should have done round beading with fitch not touching main door then paint rest of door keepung edges wet...this is how not to paint a door
There is paint on the carpet, should use a dust sheet, and the brush it is a cheap rubbish one. Not to add that you should spray it if you were professional.
You should of taken the door off no hinge on a double glazed door are painted and I hold of taken the handle and letter box off as well that’s a cowboy job

Why not just use allcoat gloss tinted to whatever colour you want? No need to pre prime then....

Dulux Trade A100 Etch Primer, I also added a little bit of Hurry up just to keep that wet edge going. TheLondonForever00
