- Here is is also the fastest known time recorded on the arcade version of Time Crisis 1 / タイムクライシス beating the Gamest/Arcadia world record time of 09'35"05. I'm playing on the actual arcade with the arcade controls.
The arcade version of Time Crisis 1 is known for having issues with the graphics, and on this board, it's giving out black lines on some of the backgrounds, especially during the Stage 2 boss, thankfully it doesn't affect gameplay and I've seen other boards look much worse than this.
Sadly it is quite an expensive fix, and people usually aim to buy another PCB instead, I haven't been able to get hold of another one.
The arcade version is much superior compared to the Playstation 1 version, with this running at 640x480 interlaced and 60fps, compared to 320x240 and 30/25fps of the PS1 version.
This whole setup costs quite a lot of money to get all sorted, though I'm glad I went with it as I've been able to play the arcade version of the game at home for many hours.

You know why this game was great? You didn't have to shoot outside the screen to reload, just simply duck back into cover, also you didn't have to be burdened with shooting any stupid innocent people or hostages unlike basically every single other arcade shooting game.

You're my new favourite person. I used to be pretty good at Time Crisis, even managed to beat it with no lives lost in the arcade many years ago to a small degree of fanfare (and with a time nowhere near as good as this). I haven't played it for maybe ten years but I still have my PS1 and G-Con, and after watching this apparently I still remember almost every enemy location. One of these days........

It's the normal kind of gig that every villain uses, such as taunts. It's a feeling when the villain can't stand with whoever the favorite adversary is that keeps getting in the way from achieving his/her ambition, as well as their desire. Even, when there's a damsel involve that needed to be rescued.

I think you are deserved being awarded as "Time Crisis Master" title.
There are two reasons why you deserved that title. One is you are pretty much able to 1cc any installments (including other arcade games as well). The second is that you are savvy enough to exploit any secrets in each Time Crisis games.
Only time will tell if you are managed to master Time Crisis 5, especially the Mastermind Edition.
Speaking of 1cc gameplay, do you have any planning to play Touhou project games?

You really nailed Time Crisis, Smraedis! I have always loved Time Crisis since I was a kid, and I've been watching your playthroughs of Time Crisis games since 2007 when I was 10 years old. Most people often compare the Time Crisis games to the John Wick movies, but I played Time Crisis as a way of being James Bond from the 007 movies and Ethan Hunt from the Mission: Impossible movies!

Congrats for this awesome speedrun. You even shoot at the bombs in the final boss stage to be faster. I didn't know that trick, it's godlike.
I really love Time Crisis series, my favourite is that one. I got it for my PSX and it seems exactly the same game with worse graphics. I trained a lot the game to do a 1CC but man, it seems you've been playing it your whole life :)

Which supports in 4:3, 3:2 or, and 1.66:1 aspect ratio, for Time Crisis 1, supports 2 guns as well as the remake arcade machine.

Time Crisis 1 is really underrated but you can see why TC2 was a collosal towards TC1 as one of the best rail shooter.

Wow, that was amazing! I would love to see you play an arcade TCII. I prefer the graphics of the arcade TCII to the PS2 version. I'll bet that TCII machines are pretty expensive, though.
Also, what do you think about TC5? I personally think its rubbish. I work at a game arcade and I'm the only person who has ever bothered to beat the game. Its not very popular and doesn't make much money.

I think my opinion of TC5 is similar to other people, it's just not as good as the previous games, and I went back to playing TC1 and then made this video.

I used to have access to a free cabinet at college and got pretty good at this game. Wish I could remember what my actual best time was but I don't think it was better than 11 min. Great shooting.
11 minutes is still a great time, it really gets hard to reduce the time once you get that quick

This is cool. I don't play the game but realise it must be a good game for setting times.
Just a couple of things: I've seen that not shooting the JCB in Stage 1 is faster because you don't have to wait for it to fall over. Do you shoot it because it's more reliable?
Where is the best place to find arcade high scores other than Twin Galaxies or stormoid's Gamest page?
From experimenting, I can say that it's quicker to shoot the forklift truck on the arcade board, but it is quicker to shoot the enemies on the PS1 version.
If you've seen my PS1 videos of this game, I shoot the enemies, and there are so many comments telling me to shoot the truck...
For records, there doesn't seem to be a single site which puts everything together really.

How do you take damage or hits in the first Time Crisis as compared to later TC series where they are shown as red bullets shot directly towards you?
It is complicated, the best thing to do is see if the screen flashes red, if you don't reload, the next shot will most likely take damage

I'm confused about the + sec. indications. It neither added to the timer nor shave your time. So, what's the purpose of it?
The bonus enemies? The time gets added onto your timer on the next time extension

Do you have any plans to do playtroughs of the arcade versions of Crisis Zone, TCII, TC3, and TC4 anytime in the future?
I can't seem to find any other arcade capture videos too, the fact that the game uses its own standard makes it harder too.
I hope to do the other arcade games eventually, though TC3 arcade is the same as the console version.

Well, i noticed not all jp players bother to submit their score to Gamest/Arcadia, and it was achieved during Gamest era. But yeah, it'd be nice to have more details.

Is it just me, or does your gun sound different between 1-1 and the rest of the game?
I recall that the gun sounds different when you're indoors vs. outdoors. Not sure if it varies beyond that.

I think my personal theory time for this game is 9:32.xx sec or faster if done correctly but still very good job on setting a WR for the game.
Yeah, I know I can do better, but it's real hard to play near perfectly throughout the whole game.

Sorry for my english but on the sherudo scene there were many graph glitches and lines, it can't be the real arcade cabinet, this is emulated. Still very good on this i admit, but you are not playing it on a real arcade machine (there's also no way to record it directly, unless you were filming the screen with a phone or a camera but it clearly does not)... also i can't figure out how you can target that fast with the guncon, i think is impossible for a human being, and if this is a spedrun your haven't skip the scenes once (probably not allowed with the emulator) Sorry about my critics
You should read my guide on how I am capturing this from the arcade machine, link is in the description, I also explain why the lines happen (which don't happen on emulation)

480i 60hz is really 30fps as you have 60 half frames per second. It's definitely not equivalent to 640 x 480 60fps although the arcade version does look better than the PS1 version. Neither look great though. Still, it's fun, like all Time Crisis games!.

Hmmm....just find this, cause I always wanted to know. Back in a day in my country I was one the best in arcade-rooms with this game. My best record was 9:48 or something which I was like, it is sure really fuckin' hard to beat it. I don't know. I saw Stage 2 something interesting which you did "not so fast" as it possible or at least as I remember for it ( I was 15 year old then, now I am 35 sooo :D). Also the ending accuracy. Cause I don't remember that back in the day (shady memories ofc). So if I understand well (as accuracy should be) if you don't miss shot, then should be 100 % right? :D Cause when I played with this game, was no miss shot but NON A SINGLE ONE, yep-yep. Just hit them or the "destroyable" environment stuffs. If those are counted as accuracy rating, then okay. Otherwise...:D Maybe the best time ever but not the most precise best time for sure. Also this is the arcade machine itself, right with the pedal. What about the gun, it is the "original one"? :D Anyway, would GREAT to speak with you about these things, just even for fun, no offense. Ohh, and this was the only game in my entire life I felt I am very close to a world record or something, but I did not care about so much that time and ofc you could not check on those things end of 90's. Forget about "accuracy", I realized I did the same at tons of places fore-shooting the places the enemy will pop-up. Huhhh, man, you made me sooo nostalgic, one day I wish I could show my "skills" somehow, even if I did not play the game 20 years ago :D
