Usually the slower the cars the better the racing
Literally more fun to watch. One limitation for me with F1 is that it's harder to get a sense of the forces, speeds and physics involved on camera; it's all a bit beyond comprehension and imagination. With karts I can look at it and know exactly what's going on.

@@j.o.e2683 the good old saying is "choose what you think would be a good budget to start with, then double it". Buying gear, getting a liscense, and maintenence of your own vehicle can be pricey. I don't know the exact numbers for the VLN 4 category, but I'm sure Google can give you better answers than I can. I've heard 3 stories of karters who became VLN drivers and it does seem fun. Not as intense as GT categories, but still small enough to have that charm.

They put there head down because it helps with airflow on the straight

Why do drivers keep looking down on the same place?
A lot of the time they do that sort of thing to make the aerodynamics better and to "push" the Kart forwards. It doesn't normally do much but it's more the drivers just willing the karts on as a habit lmao. You see racers do it a lot down the straights or out of slow corners
additional to the aero part, there are people that say leaning forwards takes weight off the rear tires and allows the engine to spool up faster. thats why drivers bouncing in their seats was popular for a while until it was banned.
Looks like they’re checking a timer or some instrument to me. For an aero effect, their heads would be down all the time.
@@cbrunnem6102 Never knew the bouncing on seat was prohibitted, at least in my country it is still widely accepted. Why was it banned?

Am truly addicted to these vids. Great camera, great commentary. Love the humility and yet the recognition when it was done well or not so well. I literally grip me chair arm when the action is getting tight.

Love your videos! Your a great racer with a humble attitude. IV learned a lot from your videos. I race in the USA at a small time track (indoor). I'm in my 3rd season in The lightweight division. I finished 6th my first season, 3rd my 2nd season and this season I'm in 3rd with 5 races to go.

You're wrong when you say it may seem a bit boring going around and around with no action. We see the lines, the angles, the little quirks in driving style, the gap closing. This is amazing stuff, keep it up!

That second race, wow! There are a few racers trickling through and then just a massive group of racers. Like they completely demolished the barrier
I love how friendly you all are with each other! Seeing 1st and 2nd shaking hands moments after barging each other off the track is heartwarming. Definitely more of gentleman culture in this than in high-end motorsport, where half of them act like spoiled children.
I have a question, too - what's the policy on contact in karting? Obviously a lot more contact happens and is tolerated, but where do they draw the line?

hi, I´d like to race those karts now in 2021, what do I need to start? I've just drove the regular karts from teamsport around London, and I always get top 3 times. Are the races mostly on weekends or also during the week? I believe would need a suit, helmet, gloves and ballast? Any shoes will do? thans, great fun and educational videos. keep it up.
