    Toyota make RWD cars again You know people like them why not make them again. I like this car but I don't like that it was originally fwd, this car isn't anything like the original. If Your gonna make a performance variant of the original at least keep it it's original setup there can be good performance fwd cars, if You would've told it's awd then fine, but what You make and are showing us that it can be done why not make it for people that enjoy these types of cars, the production model of this car can't do what the one in the video can.

    • @paulodepablo3649
      @paulodepablo3649 Před 5 lety +4

      Simply put it. Toyota is a big car company and they woukd prefer to keep the market down. A FWD is not only cost effective since you don't need to get another compamy to build you a rear diff and all the parts associating with the part. Just like the new Toyota Supra, toyota wouldn't want to spend much designing the car cause they had a lot of fun RWD cars back then that are good but slowly faded away due to the years of its innovation fading away in time. From the gt86 being a joint venture of toyota and subaru to the new Toyota supra being exclusively made out of BMW parts and assembled with in a toyota factory. Toyota will not make anything original anymore cause they had made a lot of those but the market simply doesn't want them till 6 years later. The market died for toyota sports cars years ago when people started to become wiser when buying cars. Hyundai lost their genesis coupe due to the markets so little demands for them as well.
      The good news is that instead of just letting the other companies make their sports car, they went the extra mile and created a toyota corolla by their own just to see if there is a demand for toyota brand sports cars (plus i think that they are trying to cut into the hatchback market cause of the surge of people wanting hatchback due to honda's new civic line up.).
      But if the market demand for the supra or the gt86 where to simply rised even greater than expected. We may be able to see a comeback of the MR2 or other toyota RWD cars.

      That car is nothing like the Corolla that you can buy. Different engine, seats, drivetrain, etc. They built this cat custom to have more power, converted from front wheel drive to rear wheel drive, stopped the interior, mounted a roll cage and widened the stance. They probably spent at least 2x-4x the value of the original car to get it in the condition it is today. The only part they kept was the frame.
      In short: That's not a Corolla.

    Cheaper to make FWD cars. Not everyone in the world is a petrolhead and if they priced a RWD Hatch accordingly noone would buy it and seek the german manufacturers instead for the same money. I remember when the Supra RZ 2JZ came out. Noone could afford it so hardly saw any on the road. It wasnt til they were old that people started buying them cause most people are cheapskates and wait til the car depreciates before they buy.
