As a Cold Steel fan, you could say that many of their folding knives could fit this category. I own the 4Max Scout and the SR1 Lite Tanto. I also own 3 XL models (Voyager Tanto, Voyager Drop Point, and Counter Point), their Large 4 inch blade "little brothers", and an Immortal. All 9 are great, but my XL's , 4Max Scout and SR1 Lite Tanto have that overbuilt "WOW" factor that can't be denied!
I love my stitch and scarab 2. The stitch feel like shooting a 9. The scarab feels like a 22. I’m truly in awe of Microtech.
I got the Scarab 2 at a gun show for about $550 about a month ago. I don't baby it- it's my EDC as a construction worker. It feels so cool when I need a knife and I pull that out. Not to mention the "wtf" chorus from anyone that sees it for the first time.
I gotta say that the Paragon Warlock by Ashville Steel once broken in, is by far the best fidget friendly knife I have had in many years. It is tough as it gets, and surprisingly, the blade still looks as good as it did new, even though the handle opens and closes like it does. It has brought me more joy than any other knife, since my first butterfly knife or the Cold Steel Triple Action! Of those the Warlock is actually a really stout knife! It is also cool looking, makes cool noises, and everyone I've shown it to, thinks it is cool too.
I have a completely different taste in bladed tools than you do MC, but you are easily in my top 5 overall favorite channels and my favorite bladed tool channel. Why? I love how happy and enthusiastic you are about your bladed tools. Very hard to find genuine enthusiasm.
He's the only channel going into deep conversations with himself about knives for over 30 minutes lol
Definitely agree with you. I dont think I would buy any of his favorite knives (even if I had the money), but I still love this channel.

Love my SR 1 Lite, & 4 Max Scout. The Bush Ranger Lite is also a beast as well.
I like Big Knives, and I can't deny.. when a Medford or Cold Steel comes by... with Thicck blade stock, they really Rock ! It makes Me drool like a real knife guy !
My love for overbuilt knives led me to looking into the overbuilt SMALL knives. The Kizer Flip Shank is a beast and has s35vn priced in the $80-100 range on Amazon.
I also love big chunkers. I have an XM24 IN M390 and a Grayman Satu TI in CPM 20CV that is an absolute monster. Sadly Grayman isn't make folders any more or I would have eventually got the smaller Dua
Zt 0562 kinda fits under the hinderer umbrella. Served as my entry point into knives and now I'm looking to upgrade to a hinderer xm-24 wharncliffe.... if i can ever find one lol.

Without a doubt, one for your list much be the Kershaw Lucha balisong! The build quality is something to behold.. This tool is literally built like a brick on steroids. I've personally bounced mine off concrete, tiles and even brick walls and you would never know! Obviously the handles being made of milled stainless is going to be tough but the blade itself also seems up to the task! It must come down to the actual geometry as I've never seen a blade get beaten so hard and want more! The ultimate EDC beast and then some.....

I’ve used a big thick smith and Wesson on toolbox duty (HD diesel tech).expected it to last a month for $25 but she still sits in the top drawer after 7 years, even if the blade has had about 1/4” taken off from sharpening. I have a leek or spyderco in my pocket normally. But the best part about a cheap knife is it never disappoints, occasionally your surprised!
Great video, and great timing. I've been looking at getting more 'overbuilt" knives, as most of my collection leans towards the practical carry. I did get the Auto Adamas, which is amazing. I'm surprised that you didn't include an Andre De Villiers folder. I'm on the lookout for a Pitboss 2, Harpoon, or Javelin.

My two favorite overbuilt folders are the custom Ray Rogers Chupacabra and the Miller Bros T1.
The SR1 can be got for around 120 if you are motivated to find it. Sick knife. The lite is good too.

I also have CRKT BATUM large Vox disign frame Lock, thicc blade stock (very close to the sr1) and 35$ it was my only work horse for looong time and the action on it Is wonderful

One of my favorite overbuilt blades that is terribly uncomfortable but I LIKE IT¡!¡ Is the TOPS⚡BUCK CSAR-T. I guess I like it mainly because I own it! It's very close in size to my 0550 which never gets packed either lol BUT THEY SURE ARE FUN TO LOOK AT AND HANDLE!

I love my U.S. made 4-MAX. I also own a thick folding pry bar of a knife with zero fidget factor and it was less than $200, the Buck/ TOPS C-SAR.

I also have to say that the mini Adamas is every bit as over built and tough as the larger one. It's just smaller form. The pivot is still beefy with lots of thread, full steel liners, large bronze washers, etc. Pound for pound best in class imo

Same, man. Love the design, blade shapes, grinds, jimping, can't do the clip.
Good news is that sometime this year (next couple months I believe), he is going to release some models with more regular clips! So good to hear. Keep an eye on his site for updates

I carry the Medford Praetorian Genesis and I feel it's a nice EDC. I own a Praetorian T as well but it steps over the line of practical for most situations. My first EDC that I actually spent any real money on and the knife that got me into the hobby was the ZT 350. I still love that knife even though I would definitely rather carry the ZT308 at this point. My knife palette as gotten alittle more refined over the years and my wallet has gotten fatter.
I have a Praetorian T and a Micro Praetorian Ti. My Micro Ti I went nuts on and got every bell and whistle I could get, it’s also the same thickness as the regular Ti (they had some Blade Stock Blanks cut out already for something… can’t remember what, friends and family knives I think.) It’s definitely EDCable since all the Titanium kept the weight down, if you didn’t mind carrying a Knife that expensive around.

i have a few of these in my collection and im all about overbuilt knives!.. working on trying to get midgards messers, PMP, and a few others but theyre not cheap
Man! I'm going to have to get into overbuilts. I really dig them. But they just have so much more material lends itself to over price.
I have not experienced the Pretorian yet. The beefiest Medfort I have is the 187 - that would be my nomination for my favorite over built knife.

The Artisan Cutlery Proponent in titanium is a frame lock (not liner lock).
However, the brass and copper versions are frame lock.

I daily carry my Medford usmc fighter flipper full custom. It’s a tank for sure weighing in at close to 10oz but I’m sure it’s nothing compared to the Medford t you had lol
i was looking for a slightly longer blade, bought Spyderco Resilience Black (probably Light too). its $100 here in Europe, with transport.
My only folder i was able to get (tight budget) is a Strider RW-1 and i dont plan to change it at all...

Dude, you need to check out the Sniper Bladeworks re issues they are doing. I grabbed an LPC but they are all incredibly overbuilt and awesome.
Dutch Bushcraft Knives tested the Adamas. They found out it isn't as "overbuilt" as you think. The Axis lock isn't bullet proof.
What lock is bulletproof? And why do you need a knife lockup that is bulletproof?
Check out the PMP alpha beast. It is one big fat beefy knife. The blade is nearly 1/2 inch thick. If it was available to purchase I certainly would get one. I do own a stitch and love it. 👍
Really dig The Strider and the Microtech. Too bad they are both out of my knife spending range, although the microtech is cool enough where I am considering the $200

Everything about these tanks is great. Foodprep? Go to the kitchen and prep your food, meanwhile I play with tanks. I Love my tiny TOPS Operator 7. I tried to fold it, but it's too thick.

Hey man if you like beefy tanky knives you should check out the new 2021 SOG Kiku XR LTE its tanky but light enough to edc weighs the same as a para 3 with titanium scales and extra fidgety too with that sweet XR Lock. Definitely going be one of my next few future purchases xD Would love to see a review and your thoughts on it!

Heavy = Quality within reason.. I love Over built Folders... CS AD 10 for example.. gettinng mine toomrrow and the Tanto Friday!! CANT Wait..... I have the Proponent AND the Mini its a tank.. A bit big for EDC.. HOWEVER the Mini is one of my best EDC's... check it out I have the Copper and Brass.. WOW Hinderer is sweet

I had an AD10 and didn't really like it ...the handle felt just a little small for my hand . Got the 4Max scout and man it's in a different league compared to the AD10 and even though it's less money it actually feels better quality.
My AD-10 with a stonewashed finish, is my go-to folder if I want to use the invariable ba ‘wolverine’ of folding knives. I’ve not used a more viable pound for pound alternative production knife to a fixed edge yet. Andrew Demko is a genius. God bless that man.
