08:10 I had one of these, but it got Bad Sectors and S.M.A.R.T failure during start up. It was really slow because of that.
You can still buy these drives, but you have to look for it for a very long time.

Wow, those newer hard disks are so much quieter than the older ones, particularly that Samsung hard drive, I could barely hear it whyen it started up.

Ah......I still remember the day when I built a Athlon XP PC....using these:
    CPU:Athlon XP 1700+
    HDD:Seagate Medalist,1.7GB (most likely came from a 486/Pentium 1 PC)
    RAM:128MB
    ODD:Samsung CD-ROM
    Video card:1MB S3 Trio 64
    Network:Realtek 8139A PCI
    PSU:Delux 400W
    Case:Delux MT375
    I used that HDD with Windows XP SP1 until I got a 40GB Maxtor.Now both are dead,and I'm using a 10GB Seagate ST310211A 10GB,extracted from a Xbox.

I’m surprised that you don’t have the ST 277R-1 by SEAGATE it basically a RLL version of ST 251N witch is faster than the ST 251N and is 60MB. By the way I had a SEAGATE U8 80 GB in my COMPAQ PRESARIO 5030T internet PC witch was the first one of the 5000T class series of internet and multimedia computers the original Bigfoot HARD Drive failed so I upgraded the computer to the 80 GB 7200RPM SEAGATE HDD IN 2000 and I scraped the computer because it was obsolete but I did keep it’s INTEL PENTIUM II MMX processor that was INTEL’S best processor back in the day. It made a unique startup sound.

@@evandernilsen2579 What I did was I brought a SATA/IDE to USB adapter for about $20. You can also use a power supply but some of them like the Hitachi might require you to plug it in to something like the IDE cable into it in order for it to spin up. You can also just take a spare computer you have and take the side panel off and hope the power cable is long enough to reach the hard drives. I find it much easier to just use a IDE/SATA to USB adapter as it is very easy to use. For example in my CZcams video "Seagate 2TB Click Of Death" that was before I had a IDE/SATA to USB adapter and you can see that I just plugged the power supply into the hard drive along with the SATA cable into the motherboard if you look closely at the top of the screen. You can also hear in that video that I used a PC to power it on because of the beep from the BIOS and the fans. Any video I did after that I used a IDE/SATA adapter to power on the hard drives.
