I saw the Kronos Quartet perform this piece live (awesome!) and it struck me as the perfect background for a vid I'd been thinking of doing on Capt. Jack's many deaths and resurrections. This is long (the piece is over 8 mins), but I've included all of the deaths/resurrections I could remember from both Doctor Who (seasons 1-4) and Torchwood (seasons 1 & 2), beginning with his "birth" as an immortal to his "ultimate" death. I know I missed a few, all of which have been kindly pointed out by this writing (March 2011). I had originally planned to re-do it after Children of Earth, but I just can't bear to re-watch CoE as many times as editing would require. Sorry.

I love how the tardis don't give a darn about jacks life as he clings on but does all it can to extend its field for Clara
clara was a perfectly normal human at that point so the tardis was trying to protect her as the doctor's friend but jack was an anomaly and the tardis was literally just trying to get rid of him

@@carenkoh that actually makes me think, the tardis (through rose) actually made Jack to be immoral. So it might think as Jack as an extension of itself as they share the same type of energy where as any one of Claras forms was just a normal human.
But again the tardis could've just been jealous of Jack and didn't want him to hookup with the doctor 😂
Jacks a fixed point in time should something the tardis dislikes. Like when it ran to the end of the universe to escape him after he jumped onto it.

The fact he died in the end, but still technically never died was a mindfuck. He died after over 3000 years of living, but he lived on in different timelines and different multiverses. This is a kid fucked with my head, and it still does.

Because they don't know that. In most case those around him when he died never saw him come back before. The scene were he got shot by Owen I think Gwen was the only one who knew and the scene were he got killed in from of Rose or Martha they didn't know either. His second death (in this video) was the pilot episode of Torchwood and only him knew at that point he would come back.

Technically the face of boe has still not officially been confirmed as being jack, and I find it difficult to believe that he could be anyway, especially since it is supposed to be impossible for jack to die

Wrong, it's not impossible for him to die but to stay dead.. Since captain Jack was ageing maybe he truly was the face of Boe and he died by age. What it wouldn't make sense is to stay dead. Jack was a fix point in time , this is why the time vortex kept bringing him back again n again so by this aspect he can't stay dead no matter what..

Its taken Jack days to come back from really bad deaths like being blown apart or the end of season 1. So given that boe did a similar thing to season 1 finale in gridlock it could be the face of boe just came back after the doctor left

Also, considering he heals back everytime, I doubt he'd do things like scaring or losing his freaking body.

I think the real answer is just plot. John Barrowman either wasn't asked to play Jack or didn't want to, which I don't think is the case since John has always said that he would reprise the role.

It's a spinoff, like MingJian said, set in the same world as Doctor Who, but dealing more with the street level stuff. Like if The Doctor is The Avengers, defending the Earth from alien invasions, Torchwood are The Defenders, more grounded in reality, more like the FBI or Cops dealing with Aliens causing smaller problems on earth (that giant monster was a one off and more like a mini movie than an episode)

He was exploded from the inside. One part of him regenerated slowly and painfully.
And yet despite his exploding and coming back he supposedly ends up as some kind of weird head thing

Miracle day actually messed up the show. His blood is not the key to his immortal otherwise his daughter would have inherited his immortality. It was explained by the Doctor in Utopia that Jack is a fixed point in time like a picture and thus cannot change.

Not really he still human, immortal but still human. When he has a bruise such as from a punch they take their time to heal unless he just come back from death but they do go back to how he looked when Rose brought him back.
This music matched -perfectly- to the video and its theme, nothing could outdo it.
