24 Hours since failed Trump assassination attempt: Shooter ID'd, victims ID'd, & future RNC security

- United States Secret Service agents rushed to get Donald Trump off the stage as gunshots rang out during a rally Saturday in Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump was quickly escorted into his motorcade, bleeding from his ear, and the crowd ducked for cover. For the first time in decades, a shooting at a rally is being investigated as an attempted assassination of a former president, law enforcement officials say.
A Butler County District Attorney said at least one rally attendee died and two were critically injured, the Associated Press reported.
"I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear," said former President Donald Trump in a statement on Truth Social. "I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening."

The one guy interviewed said they would have men on every roof as a matter of normal procedure ... the closest building had nobody on that roof. That is beyond neglect at the best. There is zero reason even an amateur hour person setting up security would have that roof totally unsecure. I can't see that is even a neglect or oversight. Not sure what that was but that needs a near criminal level investigation for that. That level of stupid just does not exist. Trump may need to hire his own person in charge of security.
