- Doug Mills who works for the New York Times caught the attempted assassination of Donald Trump on camera on Saturday.
"When he gestured and then looked... and then grabbed his ear and looked at his hand, I immediately knew that something was bad," he said.
Trump's ear was grazed by a bullet after a gunman shot at him from a nearby rooftop during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
Mills was at the event just a few feet from the former president when the shots rang out.

I believe this image is of a fragment of some sort, I would guess, not a bullet. But it does line up with the top of the ear. The photographer is clearly at the same level Trump's head is but is aiming the camera at an angle. The head is about 6 inches wide. The path appears to be about 2 inches too low. Assuming the path does line up with the top of the right ear, the angle needed to make it appear 2 inches below the left ear is arctan ( 2 / 6 ) or about 18 degrees. This looks about right. The camera is looking up at an angle of about 18 degrees.

The angle. The photographer was a few feet lower than Trump. That bullet is higher than you thought.

Similar to standing under a telephone pole where the wires are parallel since you are lower than the wires (Like the view at trump) the wires will appear so that the furtest wire (trumps right ear) will appear lower than the closer wire. The higher you go the closer the two wires will look until they perfectly over lap when you are at their level.
But.. The closer the wires are together this effect goes away. if they are 10 feet apart its more dramatic if they are 1 mm apart no matter what you do you won't be able to one above the other. His ears are probably 8inches. The angle below him does not look sufficient to cause the amount of disparity seen in the photo. I've taken the photo in paint with parallel lines for each ear. Unless he has more head tilt to his right ear it still looks to be too much. Without knowing the the distance to trump and the height of the camera in relation to trumps head I can't be certain.
The closer and lower they are the better it is for the illusion to be true. The further they are (telephoto lens) its more likely the picture was photo shopped.
Get me that info and I will give the answer.

A bullet does not draw a vapor trail, this is a plane in the far distance. The bullet speed from an AR15 is 2250 mph. No way 20 frames per sec will do to make this shot. You need 20.000 - 40.000 frames per second

Actually, they can. Especially high velocity rounds in a humid atmosphere (and I have no idea whether it was humid there or not). Look it up. And you don't need a fast frame rate to catch the vapour trail, only the actual bullet, which this is NOT, obviously...
Undoubtedly, a bullet CAN leave a vapour trail. Sudden decompression of air that has high humidity will leave a vapour trail. Though of short duration, such a vapour trail will last more than long enough to be captured at 20fps.
Ever heard of a Wilson cloud chamber? By momentarily supersaturating the air in a chamber you can produce vapour trails from particles as small as protons, neutrons or electrons. They are clear enough to be seen by the naked eye and could be recorded on a box brownie with care.
It’s also clear that the bullet did not hit the top of his ear. Possibly, a bit of plastic wadding from the cartridge. At that sort of velocity even a graze by a bullet would cause extensive damage that would not miraculously heal in three days.

2:) What was the perspective of the person taking the Image?
3:) Did anyone check the Edges / Outlines?
4:) Did anyone Know what was the rate of speed of the bullet to justify the trailing length in this picture?
5:) without knowing the answer for #2 it seems that Trajectory / path of bullet is wrong?

Where did Trump's bullet end up?
The only thing that we can tell by this picture is Rate of speed of bullet and Camera frame rate, which can give us starting point to End point per Frame if it is true. At this time it dose not seem to add up?
The FBI investigation should have a 75% chance of accuracy and it will take at least 3 to 4 months for a reasonable time.
Based on the photographers own statements there should be more frames that should help in analyzing the validity of this photo. That dose not include the Meta Date per Frame should be intact.
You should be asking why did they cremated the shooter.

That bullet was not the bullet that scratched his ear. It is farther away and lower than the top of his ear by a few inches.

The bullet in the photo appears much lower than Trumps ear.
Actually, it's even lower than you think because the photo was taken at an *upward* angle which makes the alleged projectile seem higher that it really was. Also, the trajectory appears virtually horizontal which would be impossible if fired from a rooftop.
there were 8 shots fired, I'm guessing this was not the bullet with tRumps name on it.
My best guess is that we are seeing an image of a bullet that missed Trump, not the one that hit his ear. If we could see all the frames a second before and a second after this frame it would be clear.
I believe the bullet on the photo is not the bullet that hit him. As you can see he's already grimacing so I think the bullet has already nicked his ear and this is a second bullet.

Less cropped versions of the photo have more of the podium visible, and if we assume that the podium is a rectangular box that is level with the ground it seems we are looking up at Trump more than I would have thought based on just looking at Trump in the photo. I think that is enough to make it plausible that this is the bullet that hit his ear.

I did the math. The bullet has double the length as it should have, according to physics. You can see it in my last video.
20 frames per second will not capture a bullet in flight. That round would still be doing about 2600 feet per second at that distance from leaving the barrel. The path of the bullet would not be flat and parallel to the ground. If you believe that photo shows the track of the round, then you most likely believe that Oswald fired it

Either way, if that particular bullet is the one (if there was one) that hit his ear, it likely would've changed course a couple mm and continued on in a slightly different path.
20 frames per second does not tell you anything about the SHUTTER SPEED. It tells you about the FRAME RATE. Now, let's assume the picture is real, and that the projectile was from an AR-15 and traveled at around 900 m/s. This picture shows the atmospheric disturbance from the bullet, not the bullet itself. The lenght of the disturbance is about 30 cm. This means the shutter speed of the camera was around 1/3000 of a second. It was a clear day, sunlight and hot, so with a shutter speed of 1/3000 second, an aperture of 2.8 and an ISO setting of 100, this gives EXACTLY the correct exposure for sunlight.

But also, anyone who's comfortable definitively asserting that the assassination attempt is a hoax based off of their qualitative analysis of a single photograph should, at a minimum, be understanding of people who believe that the 2020 election was rigged that January 6th was inside by the FBI, etc. It is just as belief-based as those things.

If there were bright blue sky behind the bullet, that would imply that the bullet was well above his ear, but it appears to be well below. That would require that the bullet be much farther behind his ear and impossible to have hit his ear. It would also require an impossible location for the photographer who does not appear in the video at all. That has nothing to do with any other events, unless God suspended the laws of physics for the day and temporarily implemented some science fiction model of physics, like the Einstein model.

The shooter was firing from an elevated position. But only about 20 feet. From 450 feet away, the downward angle is only arctan ( 20 / 450 ) or about 2.5 degrees, pretty flat.

Regardless of perspective, something that's parallel to the ground is always gonna look parallel to the ground, whether you're below it, above it, seeing it from the side, or from a helicopter, or from a bicycle.
If you're saying shooter was higher (roof) than trump's fat head, on a 4ft riser/standing at podium... well trump is 6'3" (finally! he's caught in a lie he cannot deny!!) + 4 ft platform... that's 10ft+. This is BS! I have a 20 yr old version of Photoshop, and I could replicate this photo with bullet in about 10 minutes! That's about 1 foot of travel for the bullet and since a bullet fired from an AR-15 with a 16″ barrel travels at about 3,250 feet per second, he would have to be filming with shutter rate of 270 frames per second. That is not reality!

Again, I could MANUFACTURE that image with my old Photoshop in about ten minutes. Take the photo of Trump, grab some grayish cloud fog, paste it & then squeeze it down to the exact line showing in the photograph. Fade the edges....easy peasy...coffee didn't even get cold...

I still find it hard to believe, the bullet in the picture was in that position shown in the photo 1/3 second before anyone could have heard it being shot. The bullet would be travelling at approx mach4 (3000feet per sec.) the trail shows a distance of around 1 foot long which means the photo was taken 1/3 sec before anyone heard anything and being in that position for 1/3000th of a second meaning that the exposure time had to be 1/3000th sec,which would require a video being shot at 3000 frames per second??

It takes a "special" kind of camera to film a bullet...a high speed camera or sorts and makes me wonder why a photographer would have a camera like that on this occasion.
Trump, feeling the impact, raises his hand to touch his ear. The sequence is as follows: first the impact, then he starts to raise his hand. But the hand is raised at the precise moment of the impact. Trump must necessarily have started to move his hand towards his ear before the impact.
Why is the bullet trail level. This guy was on a rooftop shooting down. Also if to extend the bullet trail back toward Trump it catches the bottom of his ear not the top.

He's not "independent," he's a photographer for the New York Times. News photographers normally have cameras that take dozens of shots per second. They take hundreds of pictures and sort through them to decide which ones they want to use

Exactly. I reckon it is too much of a horizontal angle that doesn't match up with an angle coming from the roof of a building. My other thought is that there are two other sheds that were to the right of the stage when looking front on to Trump. Those sheds were outside the Secret Service Security border, on Lakeside Road. Also seems to make more of an accurate take to clipping Trumps ear when he turns his head slightly to the right. There is no way that the person on the roof of the building who supposedly did that shot would have clipped Trumps ear. Trump would have had to have turned his head to his right more than 90 degrees. Look on google maps and it shows clearly.
Jet contrail trajectories can be at any angle.
the distance/zoom and angle the camera man is from the president lines up adjusting for those conditions.

At the supposed 1/8000 exposure time and bullet velocity of 2600 to 3000 ft per second there should only be about 4.5 inches or less of the trajectory captured. Plus, the background was mostly cloudy on the televised video, but the bullet was imaged in clear blue sky. A jet contrail not a bullet.

That means the bullet's angle would be about 0.41° downward, which to the naked eye looks essentially flat. Even if we assume the roof was 15 feet, that still less than 1°, which is very hard to see

He will get a Pulitzer Prize, like the one who took a picture of Oswald just after he was shot. He did not know in advanced. The odds of capturing an image of a bullet, or even a fragment, even with a shutter speed of 1/4,000 of second, are too small without a lot of luck, even with fore knowledge.

Ok here is my findings on the photo: It is most certainly possible that photo is real. The math/physics align.
Reports say ~150yards, shooter used AR-15 with 5.56 rounds.
At that distance the fps of that bullet can range from 2600-2800 fps.
So math-wise need the units to cancel out to determine movement of bullet during that time:
2800ft/sec * 1sec/8000 = 0.35ft which is 4.2".
Keep in mind the 5.56 bullet, so from my source that size fired is 2.260" long. Please correct if wrong
So the bullet in the photo should have a mean of length of 4.2+2.26=6.46"
So because there is no true clocked bullet speed I would suggest 6"-8" long.
And that is pretty dang close to the photo.

the shutter speed required to produce a foot long bullet blur required specialized high-speed equipment. the bullet is traveling at a minimum 550 m\s. he's not a good photographer he's full of it. can anyone provide the RAW photo link? i suspect not.

It is really weird, suddenly after wearing a maxi pad on his ear for over a week he takes it off and not even a scratch. And now the FBI states it was likely just fragments. All I know, if it was as Trump claims he would be missing an ear or at a minimum a large portion. BTW, my daughter got her ears pierced at age five and she did not need maxi pads on her ears. It's the third bullet what we see on the still pic and from nearer and lower angle.
Could be the odd angle Mills was shooting up from combined with the angles the bullet came from and was go towards. We of course can't see the exact location of Trump's injured ear in this photo. Or it could be one of the other two bullets fired off at Trump before he jumped to the ground. The bullet is heading in the direction of the two men who were badly injured but survived.
Because it was the second bullet. Two bad marksmen.

Just a reminder that this guy almost never goes to a rally and he happens to be at this one shooting at 1/8000 frames a second snapping multiple photos at the exact moment the bullets were fired. Cnn also never televise these rallys and this was the first one they did.....
He would have shown the pictures worldwide if this had been legit. Healed up in a few days, as a high-velocity bullet wound would..... NOT.
