    In the beginning: I love colombia, people say its dangerous but forget those people. In the end: Just don't use your phone, don't bring your cash, don't go out at night... in matter of fact don't do anything!

      This is how it is in Buenos Aires in terms of phone, jewelry, and money. As long as you don’t do certain things, you will be safe.
      The problem is that people in America live in a bubble and expect to every country to be like the USA, so they count money out in the open, use their phone without paying attention to their surroundings, cross streets like if they own them and cars will stop for them, etc.

    Great Video. Having been to Colombia many times your advice is spot on. However, I love Colombia as there is so much to see in do there. Also Colombians in general are very friendly and have great hospitality. I always feel like a rock star there.

    Colombia has a level 3 travel advisory (Ukraine has 4) . American and European tourists are being robbed left and right. If you go to the police, you get laughed at. Don't go there and spend your precious money until they have reforms to protect tourists.

      I really didn’t feel unsafe in Medellin when I was there. I kept my Witt’s about me and I had a good time. I knew plenty of people who had also been and loved it. Talked to many people who moved there from the US and Europe because they loved it. I can’t say about other parts of Colombia, but Medellin, I had no issues. To each their own. Cheers.

    Uber is illegal in colombia, cost more and less safe. If you get pulled over you and the driver will have to pay at least a 1-2 million dollar fine. Real yellow taxi drivers are registered with the govt.

    • @Itsbigdaddyquinn
      @Itsbigdaddyquinn  Před 7 měsíci +2

      I used Uber the whole time I was there with no problem at all! It did have a lawsuit due to tax issues which is why they enforced that, however, Uber is still alive and well , some taxis even use it. It’s also much cheaper from what I had experienced.

      @@Itsbigdaddyquinn That's like saying i bought drugs, used them, and never had a problem. You're just lucky you did not get stopped. The smart uber drivers ask you to sit up front with them to reduce the chances of getting caught. yellow taxis are everywhere, they are reliablle and cheap plus you don't have to have a pretend conversation to make sure your social score i mean uber rating is fine. Uber is still illegal here. I know people that have gotten fines within the last couple months and they are very expensive.

    99% of the people in Colombia aren't bad people just because someone looks dirty and is homeless doesn't mean there criminals. Always remember this if you haven't eaten in two days you would be out robbing also. It's pure desperation. Don't blame the citizens blame the governments for stealing all the money.
