    Just bought mine today, newest version has a SOS signal, a strobe lite, a battery saver and a regular bright led light . Great to use in small dark corners

    Found one yesterday at my local supermarket's recycling bin for waste electronics somebody threw away. 😇🤗
    It had that miniature (working !) traditional glass krypton bulb. So not an LED. I'm going to get that upgrade for it in the future. 🤔😎
    Anyways... a wedged leaked Duracell AA batery was stuck inside. But I was able to get the battery out from the other side by gently hitting that plastic piece to push it out. 😊👍
    Luckily the leak wasn't big & the corrosion on the inner metal tube part wasn't significant. So I just used some sanding paper & a metal file to remove the jagged surface left by the alkaline liquid from the battery. 🙄😏
    I put some minerail oil on the inside of the walls of the metal tube part of the flashlight to ensure easy sliding of AA batteries out. 😆

    An absolutely fantastic indoor torch. And!, they sell it locally overseas too, a MAJOR advantage over any other brand like Foursevens, Fenix, Streamlight and others.

    Best light I've used for it's size. I wish it had a tail cap button though.

    One of the features I like about my new Mini Maglite LED are the three light modes that come standard.
    1 - Turn the bezel to on steady on
    2 - Turn the bezel to on-off-on and it will strobe
    3 - Turn the bezel on-off-on-off-on and it will strobe SOS ...- - -...

    like in the old maglite models, the metal will facilitate oxidation of the batteries. vaseline can solve the problem, if you do it on time.

      Never seen this personally. I have changed the batteries in my 4D twice in the past 12 years haha the current set have been in for about 7 years as the LED conversion has apparently made them immortal despite frequent use 😂

  • @HotStuff56045
    @HotStuff56045 Před 11 lety +3

    Then you do that again quickly for the strobe and do it another time for the SOS.

    returned one recently. i'd rather have a simple on/off switch. you need 2 hands to turn this on and off

    Only complaint I had after using everyday for 2 years is the twist thing won’t always turn on light and if you bounce it while walking it flickers or won’t work , I dropped it 3-4 times to be honest but idk I think it should still be ok

  • @YanksandBritsProductions

    I was thinking of getting one here in England for fitness walking at night Etc but I don’t think it’s powerful enough.
    When you had int on outside it did not look very powerful at all.
    It seems to me it would only be ok to use around the house and obviously for the candle use
    👍

      Well, from my first salary sometime in the late 90s I got myself a mini Mag lite with the incandescent light bulb and that was plenty light to walk our dog at night in a pretty dark area. The LED version is so much better and should be plenty for almost all us cases. Are there brighter lights out there for roughly the same money? Sure.
      They also drain quickly, get hot even quicker and the ones I had were often of dubious construction.
      My Maglites took all kinds of punishment and kept going. I never had a Maglite quit on me. I only had to replace lost or "borrowed" ones... I swear by them and also want to support a company that is stalwart in NOT moving their production to China.

      @19jacobob93 Před 11 měsíci +1

      The intended purpose of the Mini is mainly for up close use, such as mechanical inspections etc.
      I have a 3D Krypton, 6D Xenon and a 4D with an LED conversion which are all more than adequate for outdoor night time use, and all double up as weapons 😅

    Where can I get new batters and a new light bulb

  • @janajustman
    @janajustman Před 12 lety

    Fenix LD20 is a way better option. It gives a similar build but with tons more capabilities...low lumens to high, strobe & SOS. Also the LD20 has cones to use which can serve as a lantern (candle) or red traffic wand. Little bit higher price tag but worth it! The only reason a cop should use anything mag lite is if he's using the club sized one to double as a blackjack.

    do these come with a spare bulb in the spring for the battery like the originals?

    • @dutchbachelor
      @dutchbachelor Před 2 lety

      Eleven years later: no they don't. LED don't need to replaced that often as they last MUCH longer than bulbs. so that's not an issue.

  • @iat814
    @iat814 Před 13 lety

    You did not mention that this particular Maglite has 4 modes. Took me awhile to figure out myself, but if you twist top you can switch to 25%, blink and SOS mode. Just want to mention that.

      Don't keep batteries long which can leak always use rechargeable batteries and other reason is apply vaseline petroleum jelly at the screw part easily open and close otherwise it will stuck

    This led Mini mag light is very bright. My only issue is the battery life. when the batteries are low the led becomes intermittent. Very annoying. Call waranty dept And was told to put new batteries in. The flashlight then worked fine. The rep told me the burn time for new batteries is about 2 and 1/2 hours.
