  • Finally the first snow plowing of the season! It was a very quick and small storm, only about 3". Played around with some editing. Enjoy!

      Thanks Dan, I appreciate that. Can't wait for the next one, should be even better. Just need more snow, we're starving here, very slow season.

      @@SnowBoss i thought snow was bid per season, not per push? the more it snows the less you make?

    • @SnowBoss
      @SnowBoss  Před 2 lety

      @@dankruger2890 some of my contracts are seasonal some are per push about half and half. I make way more revenue when it snows a lot. The seasonals just cover some expenses. We make way more if it snows.

      @@SnowBoss same here only 12.2 or so here for the year so far.
      80 more day on the season.
      need a 2-3 more 4-8 inch per push's would be nice . don't want 12+ at a time any more they are no fun ... 4-8 8-12 not that big of a deal but when you get 12-18 that's a war and don't need to fight any more ...lol

      @@jhillsgrows Definitely here ya on that. We only have 8" on the season, it's bad. Normal is 36" here.

    What do you have under the Polycaster box, covering the bumper? How do you attach / hold it in place?

    • @SnowBoss
      @SnowBoss  Před 2 lety

      It is just a piece of thin rubber to protect the back end from salt damage. It sits just under the backend of the spreader and because the spreader is bolted down to the truck it is bolted too.

    Ware you from? I'm in southern Maine. We uave had 4 real plow events so far this winter and a few that just needed salt. We've gotten 13 inches so far and we're half way through season. We average about 20 or so events 40 to 60 inches. Either it's gonna he a shit winter or were going to get slammed with more then we can handle all at once In a very short time. Wish you luck. 25 years exp plowing for someone else this is my 2nd winter solo doing my own thing. Just me a pick up sander plow and a shit box back up truck just in case. I only have 2 commercial accounts and 15 residentials. I want to get in just commercial u hate plowing residential. At least right now. Becouse I'm new and just starting my account are farther then I'd like them to be. Nothing is more then 10 20 Minutes away depending on traffic. So I might have 2 3 houses then drive 10 mins then another 10 Minutes and hit another cpl. My commercial are 5 Mins from each other so that's not an issue but ot take me more time then i want it To. Way to spread out. It's all in same town except 1 and looking at a map and doing the mileage it doesn't seem bad untill you go do it. I'm very efficient in how I plow so not loosing time there. I have a very tight system but I need to get stuff closer so I can do more in less or same amount of time.

      Hey Jesse. Thanks for watching. I am in Eastern PA. We have only had 2 small pushes and a bunch of salt runs. We are at 8" on the season, normal season is 36" so we are way behind. I think its going to be a crap season, not seeing much in long range, in fact it gets worse. So we will take what comes and that's all we can do. Residentials can be good and bad. It's really hard to do both though unless you dedicate a truck to a residential route. We only do commercial, don't like residential. Stay safe!

    It looks like the sewer covers must be up hope you don’t get paid by the ton for salt it won’t take much with that scrape thanks the equipment looks great

      On that property, it's still under construction. They have not done final paving yet so yes all the valves and manhole covers are up, but mounded with asphalt. We get paid by the app not by the ton 😉. Thanks for watching Michael.
