    hi yes the good all days of plowing. Been in the snow removal business since I was 16 years old I’ve worked for many companies as well as had my own. I also worked for nine years with the state of Illinois plowing local roads here I’ve operated multiple pieces of equipment trucks, straight blades, expandable, plows, plows, skid steers as many as several loaders. Up here in Illinois I never got a chance to use a HLA wing plow. Some people do have them, but not many I have Ron operated a loader with an 18 foot sectional for multiple years, the brand was Arctic I’m not sure if your HLA wing is like the Arctic the mole. Board can be curled forward a little bit to apply down pressure to the blade to break up any ice. It does scrape really well. I understand what you’re going through. I’ve done everything from HOA to large corporations and about six different medical buildings. ZT lots.…zero tolerance nothing left on pavement. The pay was good for those medical facilities, but there was multiple times. I thought I was gonna have a heart attack scared to death. Something was gonna happen even though it didn’t I was good about taking care of what I needed. I no longer plows know I missed it a little bit, I got out after my business and went back and work for somebody got to be too costly with all the different types of insurance necessary. Not sure if you have the same if you have full coverage on your vehicle and it has a plow on it the truck is covered, but not the plow because it is extension on the truck, not when it was manufactured. so you have to have full coverage snow removal insurance GL work comp. I was breaking even on maybe making a little bit. I got tired of it not to mention the sleepless nights which I’m sure you get at all. Terrible phone call you get something happened something broke somethings not working, so I decided to leave and go out and work for somebody else which was a little more enjoyable. Don’t mind the snow a little bit getting a little older now the cold is not my favorite, but I still watch all the snow removal. Hope you have a good year, I did snow removal from 16 years old till about four years ago like a little kid in a candy store when I see the plows though ha ha😂😂😂 oh yeah, one more thing as far as loaders go I have operated Volvo cat case and my favorite Komatsu had a lot of balls. It would put the kitty cat to shame at least in the lot that I worked. I had approximately three-quarter mile entrance to a building I could take the Komatsu with the box clear out one side all the way to the other street turn around and come back and push it all back to where it had to go on both sides and one push lotta snow 18 foot cross 56 feet tall box is 4 foot tall 3 1/2 4 foot lotta snow that Katsu would have no problem the kitty cat as I call it when I operated it I had to break the pile down. I can go up one side and then come back, but I had to break the pile down and have to take it to the pile where everything was being pot stacked and then come back and get the balance of Volvo was a good machine too. Komatsu light because of visibility and it was comfortable Volvo we had was pretty comfy as well. Cat Wash OK case was.eh

      Thank you! Straight up, most of it comes from who you know and also if you're known for quality work. As I tell everyone else, networking, networking, networking and time in the industry.

    I plowed that site last year. We were a sub for BrightView. We took it over mid season, just like you. We did not pursue it this year for reasons you can imagine. We did not want to be a sub, and corporate obviously doesn’t understand snow and didn’t want to pay. In addition to that, it was reduced scope so we only plowed half the property. I by no means think we didn’t perform. We handled it for every storm we received. Grant it last year’s winter was weak, but nevertheless, we handled everything that came our way. I hope you are treated fairly by corporate and they realize they’re playing a dangerous game.

      They are an interesting bunch in CA that's for sure. And stop taking work from nationals, including stupid brightview. It hurts the industry.

    • @Rfavorito1
      @Rfavorito1 Před 6 měsíci

      Can’t stress that enough. Did business with Brightview(back than it was Brickman) when I was smaller in the snow business. They will find any reason not to pay for extras to keep their customers happy. Hustle to sign your own contracts. It will pay off. Now I take their sites

    • @dans2717
      @dans2717 Před 6 měsíci

      I’m happy to say we no longer sub for anyone. Sometimes when an opportunity presents itself at the time it seems best to take it. But yes being a sub for BrightView is no good because they do not care about you.

      @@dans2717 You ate way better off building your own base. These nationals are pos and thieves. Good.luck.
