one thing you didn't touch on for the Send/Return, you could just use it as a Send and send it into a recording app on your iPad for simple recording of your DJ set direct from the mixer
its gain, trim is just another fancy word for it, to trim something is to cut away and gain is to amplify. Speaking as a fully qualified sound engineer and musician djs do not have a clue, fancy features and 90 percent of them will use them the exact same way, scratching those are very basic scratches that boy ever does u wanna talk about scratch cross fader my 200 quid traktor z2 makes that mixer look strupid and my 90 quid software (traktor) makes this whole set up look like an overpriced gimmick
That effect parameter knob is brilliant. Sometimes I found on the 900 nexus that the colour effects are sometimes a tad loud and make you go woah when you use it :P
What about 2 usb and 2 laptop? How can u use 2 laptops with a 2 cdj nexus 2 players at the same time? Do u need some controllers for second laptop? How it works linking them all? I think this could be an anlther review video!
another awesome feature is that u can record your sets with your phone in that USB send/return slot, or even livestream your set with your phone and it will broadcast the output of the mixer rather than recording the shitty distorted club reverb sound and background noises XD
I bought one of these mixers and when you MAX the Parameter when using the high filter i can hear a big jump in sound volume/frequency when SLOWLY turning the pot to the right< what are your thoughs?

Pioneer magnetic faders r guff, innofader in that rubbish out. Omg I cannot tell what effects what channel cos DJs have had that problem for years, not. The whole screaming red line wow why are people djin in clubs if they know nothing about gain structure I will tell u this my friend is an ex DMC champion and he advised CX is pants on the djm series intact the traitor z2 is better sorry pio but this mixer ain't nothing new and still does not compare to traktor cdj djm combo get a pair of cdj 1000 djm 900 nxs 1 and traitor see do not believe this review cos let's face it they are basically saying the last mixer had this and that wrong with it even though they bigger that up guys vinyl brake is nothing, and I mean nothing new been around for years on many gear rmx 1000.
So what's new..... Nothing vs software software is still. Better and b4 ppl say software is unreliable why have pio jumped on that band wagon, why do DMC DJs use it and damn ain't macs totally reliable last time I bought a pio mixer djm t1 rrp 1500 it was a heap of junk it bled sound thru cross fader and the z2 breasted it in sales one day pio will be made to look bad vs another brand trust me the day is coming where someone else will take over eg demon

I'd rather use a two channel mixer, no effects, and vinyl than a crappy computer/software. There's a reason why pro DJ's choose this gear and have computers to play with as peripherals. Fun to have but not essential to play. Period! The only people who think Pioneer gear is expensive, is the ones who don't make money using it. The rest of us think it's worth every dime because it's gonna help us make more money over the years to come.

YES! Clip lights should be on EVERY piece of audio equipment! I've had to argue with DJ's before that THEY'RE CLIPPING and not my controller board!

Great review! Unfortunately the clubs/bars I play at run mono, so all panning type of effects would be a wash. Is there a mono setting for the mixer?

They sure are. You can do Midi through the USB connectivity. There is no dedicated Midi port anymore like there was on the DJM-900NXS Original
