    I purchased this headphone one month ago. Really satisfied, great sound quality and the passive isolation is really good indeed. I have the Sennheiser pxc 550 also. The Dali cannot be compared with the Sennheiser in terms of sound. More clarity, better bass response, better soundstage. The Sennheiser are more comfortable though (by a small margin) and are significantly better in phonecalls.

      Hi! I also have the PXC 550's and find them fine but not amazing. Am thinking of moving to the IO4's - are they louder than the PXC's? I don't find the PXC quite as loud as I'd like and am hoping the IO4's will be able to pump a bit more

    Gavin, thanks for making us aware of these new headphones. One issue, I don't think Samsung support Aptx HD. I can't test this week as not at home. And totally agree about what hifi is about - it is an active experience not music for background playing. Therefore, I'm very interested in these Dali headphones and would be interested in hearing (!) about Tidal MQA reproduction with APtx HD.

      Personally the Dali’s win for me. Just an amazing mid range. I can never forget the moment when I thought I’d take them out of the box and give them a quick 10 min listen. I literally kept them on all night until the early hours.

    Just bought these and have been screwing around with both FLAC files and 320kb/s streams. Really good and surprising speed and soundstage for BT and at this price. They do lack some authority in the lows to low mids, which surprisingly can be compensated for reasonably well with the band equalizer and Poweramp EQ apps. If you wanted to listen to rap or electro etc. Great buy for the price.

I'm thinking of changing from my PXC550's to these and my only real concern at this point is max volume. The PXC550's aren't quite loud enough for me, I'm hoping for another 15-20% out of these

    I’m very interested in these, but comfort is very important to me. You said they were very comfortable, which sounds great, but if there’s one thing I rarely see mentioned in headphone reviews, it’s how they fit around the ears. I very much prefer a large diameter earpad, so they don’t touch my ear. Even the softest earpads will start to annoy me very quickly, if they’re rubbing up against my ears.

      @@GavinsGadgets Hmmm, but if I had to guess it's the lower-tiered Sony ANC that's in headphones like the WH-C700N (and their even older predecessors, the MDR-ZX770BN), which is drastically less effective than what Sony put even in the oldest of the 1000X line which first came out in Fall 2016, much less the latest variant WH-1000XM3 from 2018.

      @GavinsGadgets  Před 4 lety +2

      Yes they work well for movies, but the Px or PX7 will have more of a V shape sound, so for stuff like explosions in a movie, if you like that type of thing with more bass, than the B&W's may work better.

      @brainrust Před 4 lety

      I think the Dali's are more suited for music than things like movies and series. Not really because of the sound, but more due to the lack of Aptx-ll support. Which means these headphones will have too much latency when watching something. This is the reason why I went with the Sennheiser Momentum 3s instead. 3 month update and a bit of a comparison with my (old) Grado Sr125s and new Grado SR325Xs (apples to oranges, I know):
    Short version: buy IO4s if you want any level of versatility. Buy SR325X if you're only listening at home.
    First of all I'm still very impressed with these headphone's presentation and dynamics. Especially for a sealed can at this price. I do still prefer them sound-wise to their big brother IO6s (6s are damn near the same wired in passive mode with no ANC), and the much vaunted Sony WH-1000XM4 (the Sony might still win in my books for BT with ANC if you need it however no APTX etc support isn't great).
    All that out of the way, I've been using the IO4s on the go a lot more wired to my phone with an audioquest dragonfly red. In this set-up my previous gripes about authority in the mids disappeared. Might as well compare to the Grados if we're using wires and DAC/amps. Comparing to the SR80 is a bit of a wash sound wise. Either you like the Grado curve or you don't. If you like it, the 4s are close-ish but a little more laid back, a little more closed in and have none of the listening fatigue that is characteristic of the older Sr80s. Comparing the 4s to the 325s, it's not all that close. Grados hands down... Unless, that is, your in an environment with any real level of background noise or any level of bystanders that don't need to hear your music. Basically the 325s easily win unless you want to leave your house with them, in which case they lose on sound and versatility.
