- Dave Cross shows an example of the kind of tutorial found each week on the NAPP member's home page (www.photoshopuser.com). In this example, how to make your life easier when you need to prepare a file for printing in CMYK
Short and precise. Thank you so much!
Your tutorial was very helpful, thanks for taking the time to explain CMKY.
Just what I needed. Thanks!
@solutions51com: CMYK is not available in Photoshop Elements. You either have to find someone with Photoshop or let the printer convert the format (and hope that your colors don;t shift)
Very well explained tutorial. Thank you so much!
Hi good tutorial. Once I have converted to CMYK what format should I save the file in to give to the printers and are there different CMYK standards to consider?
Hi, thnx for the info, but Im wondering why you didnt show the edit>convert profile function and its options, and it would have been more usefull if you showed us what to do about the inevitable color shift that take places when converting bright RGB colors. Oh well, I guess this was more usefull for some people who werent even aware of the issues.
The best explanation...thanks
Do you knew if this will work the same method with photoshop essentials?
What greekhop said.

Then why do magazines have such vibrant colored pictures? They have to convert to cmyk for print, don't they?
what i was missing...for you to tell us..how to convert RGB to CMYK before i take my photo to a printing place...
Could you do a tutorial abot that please? thanx
Thank for sharing
Why did they even implement CMYK ? What are the benefits ? Everytime iam asked to use CMYK I only see disadvantages.
The problem I have... any picture i created in RGB, Iam unable to convert to CMYK... Be it in photoshop, gimp or any online conversion tools... i cant save my pictures in CMYK.
Is there any kind of math formula to turn RGB red (hex FF0000) to CMYK red (hex E60012)?
thx man
Hi, not understand, how can reach same blue in CMYK?
You can't because your looking LIGHT... The only you get is a approximately to the screen color whit the inks...
man you have a voice over
Does this work in CS2? lol
Okey... i found a solution how to convert from RGB to CMYK and save your file with CMYK aswell. The best way is within photoshop --> edit --> convert profile --> choose profile cmyk --> confirm everything.
After that "save as" .tif/.tiff file and you should be fine.
This is fucking useful! Where can I sign? Seriously! This is exactly what I was looking for! Great! Ill registrate!
This is where normal people get screwed when they purchase a consumer product. It doesn't do what the pros can do. You pay either way. Buy the $600 program or pay someone to use theirs. Really Sucks. Photo shop Elements 8.0 doesn't convert color either.... Crap.
Thanks for the tutorial
thank you very much
