  • Some of y'all need to SHUT THE H*LL UP about WNBA rookie, Caitlin Clark.
Now that the WNBA will transport teams via charters, some folks are losing their minds and making some outrageous arguments.
The league announced on Thursday, "The Women’s National Basketball Association will provide a full-time charter flight program for all its teams, starting this upcoming season,"
“We are thrilled to announce the launch of a full charter program as soon as practical for the 2024 and 2025 seasons, a testament to the continued growth of the WNBA,” league commissioner Cathy Engelbert said in a release. “We have been hard at work to transform the business and build a sustainable economic model to support charter flights for the long term."

Exactly. Plus it was not the norm to see a black or biracial man play professional golf. So his youth, race, along with his super talent played a HUGE part in getting folks (50 of age and under) to tune in to pro golf on a weekly basis. This is the same thing with Caitlin. Of course the media is going to hype up the white girl. The white viewers have heavily watched the games she's played in. So you know what we as Black people need to do? Watch the games featuring the great Black women players.
Support A'ja Wilson, Arike Ogunbowale, Alyssa Thomas, Skylar Diggins-Smith, Jewel Loyd, Jackie Young, Betnaija Laney, Napheesa Collier, Rhyne Howard. @@jacobevans8263 Devils are always trying to mix truth with a whole lot of lying. It was called TIGER-PROOFING by the whites. Changes to the course layout and expanding them are very expensive. There's your first lie because they aren't constantly evolving. They only changed the courses because Tiger was playing against alot of out-of-shape old white dudes that couldn't drive long. Blues Clue #2 is the fact they named the course changes after him. They weren't changing the courses because all or most of the other players were getting better.
Tiger forced the other golfers to take the sport more seriously. The correct response from the field should've been for the other golfers to step their game up to compete, not change layout so the best guy gets handicapped. You would've been that guy in the 1960s saying the Lew Alcindor rule wasn't racist because "dunking ruins the purity of the sport (wink wink nudge)." The difference is Tiger, Jordan, etc actually earned his recognition and respect by beating the best in his field. Clark hasn't even laced up her shoes yet but they're trying to hail her as the ice queen of the wnba. We see exactly what's going on. Everything else you said after that wasn't even worth debating. Well, if it really is because white people identify with a white player, just say it is. Don't tell us that it's not about race - because you are literally saying it is.
And don't tell us that no, it's just because of her talent, or no, it's just because we're haters. Just admit you like seeing a white person doing that well in that context, because you are white too, and it is actually about her race.
And I'll ease off because I can see how the conversation gets uncomfortable when it gets put in those terms. But this is what you are saying, isn't it?

You get paid when you sell tickets, merchandise and get people to tune in. Period.

Caitlin is so much different on and off the court than the rest. MJ and Tiger did the same thing to ratings and fandom. Happens maybe once in a generation. It's here, be happy!

Isnt it strange that all of a sudden they getting chartered flights, amazon setting up media deal. Where was this a few years ago when current players were complaining about flying comnercial and lack of money. Now all of a sudden the perks come.

Not strange at all. Caitlin Clark has impacted the WNBA in ways never seen...until now. The numbers do NOT lie. SO much so that other teams who are talking ish about HER...are moving games against HER...to much larger arenas. SHE is the difference-maker that will take the WNBA off welfare. Is there anything else I can clarify for you?

Glad I'm not the only one who remembers that from a few years ago. The players were complaining about travel and lodging.

The WNBA is trash 🗑️ Most women don’t even know the name of their local team. Most women don’t even know who the current champion is. Most women have never attended a game. Most women don’t even own any merchandise.
