Lyrics:
Don't look at me, you got a girl at home
And everybody knows that, everybody knows that, ah ah
Don't look at me, you got a girl at home
And everybody knows that
I don't even know her
But I feel a responsibility to do what's upstanding and right
It's kinda like a code, yeah
And you've been getting closer and closer
And crossing so many lines
And it would be a fine proposition
If I was a stupid girl
But, honey, I am no one's exception
This, I have previously learned
CHORUS
So don't look at me, you got a girl at home
And everybody knows that, everybody knows that, ah ah
Don't look at me, you got a girl at home
And everybody knows that, everybody knows that
I see you turn off your phone
And now you've got me alone, and I say
“Don't look at me, you got a girl at home”
And everybody knows that, everybody knows that
I just want to make sure
You understand perfectly
You're the kind of man who makes me sad
While she waits up, you chase down the newest thing
And take for granted what you have
And it would be a fine proposition
If I was a stupid girl
And yeah, I might go with it
If I hadn't once been just like her
REPEAT CHORUS
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Call a cab, lose my number
You're about to lose your girl
Call a cab, lose my number
Let's consider this lesson learned
Don't look at me, you got a girl at home
And everybody knows that, everybody knows that, ah ah
Don't look at me, you got a girl at home
And everybody knows that, everybody knows that
I wanna see you pick up your phone
And tell her you’re coming home
Don't look at me, you got a girl at home
And everybody knows that, everybody knows that
It would be a fine proposition
If I hadn't once been just like her

woahh I did not expect this version to be a lot more... smoky and electro
It's so much better
I LOVE IT
Same! When I heard it I was like “Wait is Spotify glitching…?”
SAME!!!!
it tells the story better, im actually picturing a busy bar or club
Suddenly, the song got adopted by how you get a girl and new romantics. Now it is the lost track of 1989
‼️‼️‼️
YESSSS!!!!!! EXCATLY WHAT I THOUGHT
i support this
Us swifties could very well adopt this song into a 1989 from the vault song
IS THIS A SIGN
0:40 "I am no one's exception, this I have previously learned." This is what she's talking about in "Foolish One"! The connections 😍
.
She finally learned her lesson😍
I hate the fact Swifties made Taylor think Girl at Home is a bad song. Now that she made it pop, hope y'all give Girl at Home the love she deserved for years existing.
This song has been one of my favorites of the album since the begging
A lot of things change after this whole re-record: Girl at home get so much power specially after the whole topic that is spoken in "The Moment I Knew", the looking back into that relationship in "Better man" and the affair that's revealed in the Babe's bridge song. Being involved with another guy that has a Girl at home is the proof of how Taylor learned things that couldn't be that known if it wasn't for this rerecord. Not to mention the 10 minutes version of All too well that basically change the whole focus of the album
girl at home stolen version is probably her worst song tho 💀
I've talked to a few people who are Swifties too and the thing is that it makes us uncomfortable when she says "I might go with it if I hadn't once been just like her" because you don't need to be cheated on to know that. That's just my opinion and the reason why I've never actually liked the song. I prefer this version though.
The original is just a demo tho. And it sounds like one too.
This is basically what it means by Queens fixing each other's crown.
Exactly
I am sorry, I don't get it. Would you be so kind as to explain it to me, please?
♥️☀️🌛
@@GabrielaCenturionNeumann i think its what the song's about. About the other girl he had at home
@@GabrielaCenturionNeumann The song is about Taylor (a queen) not agreeing to go with a guy because she cares about the guy's girlfriend (another queen). So that's why its a queen fixing another queen's crown.
I love that this song isn’t just Taylor rejecting someone who’s looking to cheat. She’s also looking out for the girl he’s dating because she’s been in her position before.
How You Get the Girl Taylor's version is perfect for the movie Promising Young Woman. I need someone to make a mv on this!
Same.
I just loving her more and more because of the kind of person she is💖🛐
At the same time though she’s tempted by them, but only declines them for that reason. Because she’s been burnt before. If she hadn’t she would’ve cheated.
The line "Yeah, I might go with it if I hadn't once been just like her" though.
the "illicit affairs" girl singing this 🤔💭
And now it's Taylor herself that decides how her songs will sound and no record label or manager will ever again tell her what to do. I love that for her. Elvira did an amazing job with this song ❤️
Did NOT expect this energy in this... She just blew mi mind Taylor is a goddess genius. Love this song more than the "original" version
"stolen version" 💅💅
it gives me 1989 vibes and i'm HERE FOR IT
Wasn't expecting the electro but honestly, it's fantastic
🤩🤩🤩 YAS
Taylor's son one day:
"Mom can I get a girl?"
Taylor: "No, we have a girl at home".

genius
and that’s how you get the girl
😂❤️
In my opinion, Taylor is amazing at a lot of things. However I think she does electro pop best. This is great! 1989 Taylor’s version is going to SLAP so hard.
Agreed
nah. folklore/evermore style is her niche. This is nice, but you can't compare.
@Unfortunately Toxic not really lol I know all of her albums. By niche i don't mean that it is what she was doing before, I mean that it is what she is doing best. And she has never sounded better than she does on folklore/evermore
@Goddess I'm not a big Folklore fan either Red 1989 Reputation r her best... I can't wait for Speak now Taylor's version and Debut
@@user-rv7ge1tc4l For me, evermore and electro-pop style she does *AMAZING.💜*
She really said "Imma yassify this song by making it into an electronic club remix💅" I actually like it lol. It was so unexpected. Maybe she wanted the original to be like this but wasn’t allowed to it at the time? If that’s the thing, I’m happy she gets to do it now!
This might be true. Afterall, this is Taylor's version.
@@choyborg6718 ik, I feel like we often forget what Taylor’s Version really means. It doesn’t just mean “remastered song”, she can literally do whatever she wants now and I’m so happy for that.
@@random-zz8ut yes like when she turned Don't You into an Evermore sounding track and made it a masterpiece
I don't think so. She knew fans hated this song so she changed the production to make it better.
Something confirmed Taylor said the stolen version was a demo
She really said "This song doesn't deserve be the least liked song of the album" so she changed the production. I'm so proudddddd.
She said that!?
@@libertymartin5167 I think "she really said" is just an expression people use nowadays haha
@@Rebeccaa54687 It might be, and that's why I just didn't understand it lol 😃
but 'stay stay stay' was the least liked
@@youreacowboylikeme9022 but it became trending on Twitter
This song is proof of how production can elevate a song. 1000% better than the original wow
I don’t think this is the compliment you think it is. The song is still shit. It’s just now the producer is doing all the heavy lifting.
@@juka421 nice try, Kim K.

This whole album is a masterpiece. Her writing skills are beyond this world. Now, if you excuse me, I'm going to listen to it to purify my soul.
Maybe this is the way she originally envisioned the song sounding, she probably didnt feel comfortable releasing it with this vibe though
Or Scott's suggestion of having a certain number of "country-sounding" songs on the original Red album.
It’s because Nathan Chapman didn’t come back to produce the track again
I said this to my friend. It always sounded like she was in a club getting hit on. And now we're in the club with her in the bathroom hearing the story about the dbag that is trying to take her home
Trueee
@@amberspence5092 OMG that makes so much sense
This version slapped me in the face and then kissed it better, holy shit, amazing

Oml I see what you did there haha
YO! I actually got that reference!
🎶I knew you... hand under my sweatshirt baby kiss it better ahhh🎶
She literally changed the most so-so song on the album to one of the funnest ones. Absolutely incredible. Taylor thinks of everything. Artist of the century. There will never be a replacement
Agreed. I seriously can't see anyone being better than Taylor Swift in the next century or even beyond, artist of the millenia.
@@bruxploring this is big facts. I feel so lucky to be born in the same era as her and we get to figure out all these fun easter eggs along the way. Taylor Swift forever❤❤❤
Bono compared her to the Beatles...
@@toridark325 The Beatles were the artist of their century (The 20th Century seeing as they were active for 10 years between 1960 and 1970) and Taylor is the artist of this century (The 21st Century as she has been active since 2006).
The original felt like a demo. This feels like the complete song
The original one is actually a demo lol.
This also feels like a demo but a pop one.
All Stolen is a DEMO now HAHAHA

I don't know why this song is so overhated
This song is a masterpiece just like her other songs
Girl at home deserves love Appreciation!!
Perversion of the original. Great song, but not in the spirit of Taylor’s Version, which is what everything else has been.
I genuinely don't understand why a lot of people hate this song
Ive personally always loved this song 🤷🏻♀️
Nobody hates this song, please!!!!!
I sang this for someone with my friends 😂😂
In my dreams
THIS SONG IS SO UNDERRATED
"I JUST WANNA MAKE SURE, YOU UNDERSTAND IT PERFECTLY YOU'RE THE KIND OF MAN WHO MAKES ME SAD" I AM SPIRALING.
THE WAY THIS SONG WAS AMAZING AND U STILL MANAGED TO MAKE IT PERFECT
This version gives this song more life.. shows growth.
If 1989 and Rep Taylor recreated this song together, then this would be the outcome AND I LOVE IT
She turned it into something more pop-ish. It's magically beautiful ❤️
This sounds like 1989 LOL and honestly it's a HUGE improvement.
I like the original more!
I like this way more!!!
I prefer the original, but it's cool to hear a different version regardless.
@@LaurenKaminski ok???
I prefer this version tbh, there’s something so nostalgic about this kind of production
This is an interesting sound, definitely differs from the original but I like love it? Guilty pleasure
why guilty? 😭😭
Plsss the old one just sounded repetitive with those instrumentations
Listen back carefully to the stolen version. It was always there; just hidden behind a loud guitar in the background.
@@mklamklamkla oh I didn’t know that, I’ll definitely be listening to it illegally to hear it, ty!!!!💜
Its sounds more like "willow 90s trend"
I freaking love you Taylor Swift

Okay
Me too
Taylor really makes something beautiful even more beautiful. She’s a magician for sure
Girl at Home, Message in a Bottle, The Very First Night is the Red track of Taylor Swift that bridge her transition to full electro pop.
I like what she did here. The previous version sounds like a demo only
She supposedly said one time Girl At Home wasn't meant to be on the album the way it did. I don't think she ever expounded upon why though.
@@iandrewc RED TV was really worth the wait. Awwee 🥺😊😊❤️
@@iandrewc at another time, I think she also said that some songs in Red wasn't meant to be country, but her ex-label doesn't wanna let go of her country music audience
@@iandrewc She said that? :O Now it makes sense!!!
@@libertymartin5167 It would definitely make sense. If I recall correctly, RED is somewhat a transition between Fearless and 1989 (but of course, it has it's own distinct style and emotions!).
Why this sound so different from what i expected?
I like this version!!!!!!!
I love this production bc i feel like the more experimental and energetic production introduces that element of anger and resistance, wanting to in some way force one bad thing to not happen - like 'lose my number let's consider this lesson learned' as in 'i will not let one more bad thing happen'
wow can’t believe she turned this song into electro pop, it’s way better than the original one, i even thought it belongs to 1989 omg it’s just perfect 🤩 i really like it Taylor, you did it very well
didn't like the original version but I loved this version.
Yeah. I agree
This transcends Girl at Home (OG). This even transcends Taylor's Version. THIS IS MAGICALLY REIMAGINED and I am not complaining. Loved it!
Yeah 💙😊🤸🎶
honestly, i like this version soo much more idk the song was just never one of my favs but now i really like it. it feels like the production is exactly how it was supposed to be like the songs flow so much better with the little changes they did. she made an amazing album even better woah!
OMGGGGG WHATTTTT I wasnt a fan of this song but then she changed it to POP version and now this's one of my fav songs of Red
Music industry things
Low key one of my favorite track from the Red album. And I am happy that Taylor didn’t get afraid reimagining this version because I am certainly buying this one comparing to the stolen version. This give so much pop and alive vibes that seriously let’s you take it to the jam!
it's strange that whenever taylor releases a song, both new or re-launched like this taylor's version, it always aligns with my love story. it's been tens years and the word coincidence is just scary now lol
Omg, this sounds so much different from the previous one. But it matches her current mature voice. The previous one suited her sweet young voice. Both is still my fav aaaand this is a bop 🔥
I personally wasn't that excited for this one but i'm wordless now
I love it now 🤧😭
Can we all agrees that Taylor is just not a song writer, she’s also a story writer
Why is this song so underrated 😢?
this version is so 1989 and I'm living for it! it totally couldve been added to 1989
I'm clowning, I know... But what if she's hinting 1989 through THIS???
she said: NEXT ERA IS GONNA BE 1989 EITHER YOU WANT IT OR NOT
Was hoping speak now or debut before that tbh
@@Haxed.11 I think speak now will be next most of the 1989 chatter has been false and I doubt she'd completely change art to hint at something
YES !!!! THIS SONG GIVES ME MAJOR 1989 VIBES
She’s unpredictable, she may be gving hints for 1989 and Speak Now but what if she release Rep or her debut next or she can even take a break from re-recording and do a new era. I don’t trust her hints now to be honest.
😂😂😂
@@Haxed.11 the debut needs to be the last one, it's only fitting imo

Why don't people like this song, it's so catchy and meaningful lol
Not every song she writes is going to be a smashing hit that breaks records.
That is kinda impossible even for her.
Because this song is a diss track and people puts a hate of everything Taylor does for a diss track

Only queen Taylor can stay relevant after sooo long.
She comes on stronger than a 90s trend
This song and Message in a bottle feels like an outtakes from 1989. It sounds a bit like Welcome To New York.
i feel like the way she’s kind of made some of these songs more pop-ish makes the album WAY more cohesive and i really think it stands a chance at the grammys this time around
It's really difficult to keep a listener's attention for even the length of a full song and here goes Taylor making millions of people show up for her with every release. Even re-releases!! A real boss move.
Are u really just gonna post the same comment on all of her videos?

She's not a boss, she's the queen

the best musical glowup in the album istg
Literally my favorite song off of Red idk why ppl don’t adore it
I’m so proud of her, she’s such an inspiration
I'M SO HAPPY THAT SHE RELEASED RED. THIS IS THE BEST ALBUM EVER. I LOVE HER SO MUCH.
Every time I listen to this song I get prom vibes...💃💃💃
the new version is so catchy like when she sings “I see youuu turn off your phone and noww youuu”
"Let's consider this, lesson learned." - Taylor Swift
I love this new vibe it's giving it sounded something like the ones you hear in barbie movies. Taylor sounds like an IT girl here omgg!! ❤️❤️❤️
That one barbie film where the main character sings in a stage lmao
Barbie is too thin...
i wish i got the kind of glow up that this song got SJFSJDGF
The final instrumental 3:30 reminds me of chorus of the song SAY DONT GO 😍😍
Now I know why Taylor chose Pop over Country on Red (Taylor’s Version). Her old stolen songs from Red (Country) have more raw instruments in it while Taylor’s fresh tracks from Red (Pop) has electric instruments and new elements added.
This has always been one of my favorites and I really like the New Romantics vibes. Can't wait to gatekeep this from TikTok ♥️
LMAO the locals are gonna eat this one up
I don’t get New Romantic vibes at all!
been singing the chorus on repeat again
I think what is so Taylor about this song is she sings about ‘boring stuff’. I don’t think other artists who sang other songs in which they attempt to seduce someone else’s significant other at a club are actually bad in real life. They just sing something that would make them look cool and badass, hence might boost or add a shiny dime to their career. Telling off someone who’s trying to have fun, aka cheating, is upstanding and right, but not regarded as cool in our culture, sadly. Taylor always has been so brave about sharing what she feels or thinks regardless of what others might think.
She makes me realise that you can love someone so much without even personally knowing them(like I love Taylor), and it's also very much possible for someone(like Taylor) to make other people feel loved , heard and happy , even though they might not personally know I exist in particular.
Her existence matters to us, and our existence matters to her...This is what love is ❤
Whattt it feels so refreshing listening to this masterpiece. It’s like a brand new song 😭😭
the way Taylor yassified this song, I’ll be forever grateful
To me I picture this happening in a club hence techno influence. A guy makes a move on the dance floor and this is Taylor's response.
This version is really different than the old one and it's a BOP!
OMGGGGG WHATTTTT I wasnt a fan of this song but then she changed it to POP version and now this's one of my fav songs of Red
Such a bop hopefully now will get the love it deserves ✌️
This version really feels amazing, it feels like a new song
the beat to this song makes me want to dance!
I think she did with red ts version what she wanted to do with the actual red album. You can hear the pop element more prominently here. It just shows how much she's matured as an artist in terms of switching between genres
It's giving New Romantics vibes and i love it
I absolutely love both versions they're so different, so it's like two twins with different characters and that's why both of them are interesting
I think this is the original version of Girl At Home. I heard from the internet that her label is trying to not include too much pop songs on Red so maybe she changed the Girl At Home to a country song. That is also the reason why she has so many pop tracks from the vault.
I love how this song is so different from all her other red songs. So electric and just such a bop!!
I LOVEEEEE THIS VERSION SO MUCH ESPECIALLY WITH A HIGH QUALITY EARPHONE/HEADPHONE LIKEEEE😭😭😍😍😍

Everyone saying this song should've been put in 1989 tv instead, but isn't that the whole point for the whole Red Tv album? This album was supposedly to have different genres, an experiemental one. Taylor confirmed back in 2012 that Red isn't cohesive at all and she did that intentionally for the songs to have different sounds like one is pop and the other is alternative, that was the focus for her with this album. The different productions with every song is meant to be different to form a rollercoaster ride for her feelings with the guy she was in a relationship with or her feelings that she was feeling while she was on a relationship. It's quite brilliant of her to do this actually.
Yes!! And didn’t she say that she wanted to start transitioning into different genres and used Red to try and move to pop slowly
