a FYI note :
the bankers are usually in twos or in threes.
twos are used for passengers trains while threes are used for freight trains.
for passenger trains, even one banker is enough to push it up the grade , mum delhi CR rajdhani climbs up the ghats using just 2 locos in push pull mode.
but for safety reasons , there are atleast two banker locomotives in each set.
sometimes, twos are not available so a threes are sent with passenger trains,
in this case, one loco out of the three , mostly the leading one of the three is kept off , its pantograph will be down .
this is done to save power usage as two are more than enough to push the passenger train.

i also wish that the railways attached 1 or 2 coaches permanently to those banker locos and then sell the tickets so that people can have a pleasant journey from karjat to lonavala and back as well as from kasara to igatpuri and back.
now a lot of people come to karjat by locals, then either go by cabs or buses or enter other long distance trains to go to lonavala and then there they get into lonavala Pune locals for the forward journey.|
if railways had a few coaches attached to bankers, a lot of these people would prefer this pleasant journey over cabs and buses, which will also ease the traffic conditions of the roads in the ghat section.

But I think the railways could not do this as the increase in length and weight of the bogies/locomotives would lead to breakdown/serious damage or risk of wheel slip.

@@RailEntertainment777 I don’t think one or more coaches will make a difference to the train . Remember, weight of the freight train is way more than that of passenger train and yet they go up without any issue. So a passenger train plus a set of banker locos + one or two coaches should not have any issues
