I’m an Aussie and I’m naturally hoping Voyager will win…besides the car is a classic and love the keytar Danny plays. The contact for Australia expires this season and it would be good if we win….I’ve watched Eurovision evolve since black and white tv came in and I’ve seen the weird, wonderful and OTT and real stars find fame and fortune…but Mae’s song is one that could be used to play at a nightclub when people won’t go home, it’s repetitive and lacks creativity….there I’ve said it but I understand why the people in the UK are behind her it the patriotic thing to do…. And I wish all the contestants the best of luck.

But everyone is saying what fantastic productions the shows have delivered, and a great balance has been found between honouring Ukraine's victory last year and staging a big fun party in Liverpool. Wherever Mae Muller finishes tonight, she has produced a better song, which has charted on its release, and it is better staged by far than other recent UK entries. So the effort and the investment has certainly gone up. If the UK wants to do well at Eurovision , then it has to take it seriously. If record labels were lobbying for their up and coming acts to take a shot at representing the UK, it would do very well, because the quality of our best pop music is world class. Mae Muller has a platinum selling song in the US Billboard charts. This is a big event and a big stage, so maybe she's had a learning curve, as well as some health issues. Maybe just wait until tonight before writing her off as a failure. If writing a hit record or a Eurovision winner was easy, we'd all be doing it. Very often you try, and it doesn't work - but the effort was made, there is something to learn, and there is always next year.

It’s always sad when old people are that hateful… as Norton proved to be when it comes to Germany. He openly hated the German ESC entry and this was really bad style. Guess he‘s very happy about the result…
