I am so proud that Polish band is so interesting for foreign people and musicians! 🥹 They often make their music based on all of the Slavic - south, east, west, they even have separate albums inspired by those!

Ah nice! I am glad you decided to check out some more! Fields of Ard Skellig, the style of the singing is traditional Gaelic and the language is Scots Gaelic i.e. the Gaelic spoken in Scotland. The lyrics are from/adapted from a traditional Scottish song, Fear a' Bhàta (The Boatman) from the Hebrides. Marcin Przybyłowicz and Mikolai Stroinski researched/referenced Polish, Northern English and Scottish folk music while working on the soundtrack for the Witcher 3. There's another piece in the soundtrack, Whispers of Oxenfurt, that uses a theme from a Northern English folk song Bonny at Morn which is also in the soundtrack under the same name.
Really interesting that you described Aen Seidhe as "spooky, mysterious and a bit ominous", the composers really hit it out of the park if that's what you got from it. Seidhe is derived from an Irish word that means fairy, and was borrowed by the Witcher books author as the name of a species of elves, and their cities are ancient subterranean wraith-infested ruins that you can explore several times in the game. This track plays while investigating some of them. The Aen Seidhe have a related faction who are the origin of the primary antagonists in the main part of the game, and thus the slightly ominous part relates to that and to their shared history.
Steel for Humans is the most Slavic (naturally there's Slavic influence in all of them, and Celtic influence in a lot of them) of these pieces, with lyrics in Polish, and then the infamous "banana tiger" bridge (it's just rara-ra-tara essentially, just vocalizations not actually real words), and this is a performance by the band Percival. It's a piece of music most players will hear hundreds of times in a playthrough.

Wow! Thanks for the great insight into the language used in the songs, that's super interesting! And thanks for explaining how the music is used in the game too, that helps give some great context for what the songs are used for.

Although the last song undoubtedly contains lyrics in the Slavic language, it is not Polish, but Bulgarian.

That was very great analysis and you behave very natural in front of camera. I respect that very much in contrary to other forced 'reactions' out there on YT. Thanks!

@@damo_gauci that'd be great. No rush of course, the game is 9 years old and still as popular as ever so I think you'd find there'd be plenty of interest whenever you get around to it. Thank you for your reply.
