People don’t realize that “generic” literally just means that the patent on the med has expired and multiple companies can produce it (just minus the fancy brand name). Generic meds are almost exactly the same as brand except significantly cheaper. Also the FDA would never allow an unsafe drug to be marketed or sold, so even though it’s a dollar store, all the meds are safe to consume. People are just snobby when it comes to name brand.
J M Archer it shouldnt be. Its generally made in the same factory. Motrin and any otc generic are made in the same factory. When it comes to advil well thats already harsh cause the gel takes forever to digest

J M Archer and Ryan- both of you are theoretically correct! The dosage form (aka tablet vs. capsule vs. gel cap) can have very very slight effects due to the inactive ingredients that hold them together, however there should NOT be a significant difference (Bc that’s not legal haha). Everyone’s body is different and can respond to meds differently but a general rule of thumb is that generic and brand are *almost* always exactly the same :)
I totally get this, but I feel like nothing gets rid of a headache like Advil. Is that just the placebo effect of knowing it’s name brand so it “should” get rid of the pain?
lainee grace yes! The placebo effect is actually medically proven so that could definitely be a factor.
The dollar tree videos are the best! The ambient noise is never too much there
Does anybody else find it super satisfying that she can pronounce all of the medications actual names perfectly? Like for the sleep aid at the beginning, the name of the actual drug just rolls off her tongue and she knows what it is and it’s very satisfying to me

I work as a merchandiser for a store and I do face up mainly medicine and pharmacy stuff. The tips and tricks I have learned from these videos make my life so much easier. Thank you!

Also, a few more things about these videos that I absolutely love?
1. The cleaning up. I HATE messy store shelves. One time while walking around our local Wal-Mart someone decided they didn't want their juice so they just sat it down in the middle of the aisle. Like, really?
2. The jokes! They crack me up, need I say more?
3. The accent! I'm a North Carolinian myself, so just hearing that little bit of a country accent reminds me of family members that talked with the same accent that I have since lost or just haven't spoken to in a long time.
These videos are my absolute favorite, but I think the ones in the Caldwell area could really use a good cleanup. I don't really look around, I just grab and go when I visit any Dollar Store in this area, but one that I basically grew up in? Please consult this timestamp for my comment: 23:40. XD The toy aisle was a nightmare, I would go in looking for teen coloring books and there would be a mix of adult coloring books with intricate designs and kitty cats and Disney princesses in the same pile as the word searches. On top of that mess cake was a sprinkle of some parent putting back the mascara and nail polish and maybe a box of cereal too. XD

Goodness, I just love these OTC organizational videos! I watched them almost almost every night there very relaxing. Also, chlorpheniramine maleate is available at Walmart over the counter for three dollars for a bottle of 100. It’s a pretty decent antihistamine. Anyway you probably know all that except for the part that you can get it at Walmart by itself:) keep up the wonderful work you do, and all the videos that you put out, they are very much appreciated!😊

Ohhhh...hate to burst your bubble sweetheart, but it's not that interesting. I worked in both retail and hospital pharmacy for years and learned a lot about all sorts of different types of medications. Sorry my life isn't more scandalous for your entertainment.

I was just at the dollar tree yesterday. I should have looked to see if they had children’s allergy medicine. My son uses Zyrtec and even the generic at Kroger is ridiculous. And he goes through it like crazy because he’s allergic to everything! Not to mention Flonase and two other nasal sprays.

I believe she has said in previous videos that she used to work at a "Shoppers Drug Mart" type of store where she stocked and organized shelves (almost exactly like she does in these types of videos) and that she learned a lot about the medical names of drugs while she was there
I think she was a pharmacy tech..couldn't tell you what video she mentioned it in though as it was ages ago that I watched it

chlorpheniramine maleate is available at Walmart and Walgreens by itself believe it comes in 4mg tablets!
