    Azithromycin can be used in typhoid fever?

    • @MediInsights
      @MediInsights  Před rokem +1

      Typhoid fever is usually caused by the bacterium Salmonella Typhi. Traditionally, fluoroquinolones (such as ciprofloxacin) or third-generation cephalosporins (such as ceftriaxone) have been the antibiotics of choice for treating typhoid fever, as they have been effective against most strains of the bacteria. Azithromycin can also be used to treat typhoid fever, especially in cases where the bacteria are resistant to other antibiotics.
      It's important to note that the choice of antibiotic and the treatment plan should be determined by a medical professional who has evaluated your specific condition, taken into account any potential drug resistance patterns in your region, and considered your medical history and any allergies you might have.

    Is azithromycin.... Act for diarrhea in small children?

    • @MediInsights
      @MediInsights  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Azithromycin is an antibiotic that is sometimes prescribed for certain types of bacterial infections, including some gastrointestinal infections that can cause diarrhea. However, its use for diarrhea in small children is not typically the first-line treatment.
      In children, diarrhea can have various causes, including viral infections (such as rotavirus), bacterial infections, or even non-infectious causes like dietary factors. Treatment for diarrhea in small children often focuses on preventing dehydration by ensuring they stay well-hydrated with oral rehydration solutions (ORS) and continuing to feed them a regular diet if possible. The use of antibiotics, including azithromycin, is usually reserved for specific cases where there is a confirmed bacterial infection that requires antibiotic therapy.
      It's essential to consult a healthcare professional, such as a pediatrician, before giving any medication, including antibiotics, to small children. They will assess the specific condition, perform any necessary tests, and recommend the appropriate treatment based on the underlying cause of the diarrhea. Misusing antibiotics can lead to antibiotic resistance and should be avoided unless prescribed by a healthcare provider for a confirmed bacterial infection.

      Azithromycin is safe to use during breastfeeding. As the drug doesn't pass through milk in significant amounts. But there may be possibility of diarrhea and rashes in baby (in rare case). If you found these symptoms in baby then you can stop taking Azithromycin.
