He has a basic offensive scheme, with a 3rd string mentor that he was already better than. He's not good enough to fix his issues on his own. He obviously needs molding. With that he has the ability to be elite. Right now, his confidence is shot, he doesn't trust himself, he's trying to do too much to shut everyone up and protect his position.

Im sorry. Romo put up high scoring games consistently with much less talent for most years and kept us relevant and competitive. Imo, Dak is the biggest problem and then comes coaching. We are currently living with the consequences of not letting Romo compete for the srarting job last year (which he would've won with his eyes closed) and getting baited by Dak's rookie year. That man has no business being a quarterback in the NFL
LOL this is funny. I've been giving examples of this type of thinking for weeks now. Where to start... Romo had Dez AND Witten, O-line was in better shape. He did have an overall better football IQ. Romo spent 3 seasons as a back-up. He didn't get a start until 2006. Hebhad plenty of time to improve and grow witb a knowledgeable mentore. Daks first year was amazing because he had a mentor. Even if Romo came back his injuries were too much. He would've just got hurt again and probably worse. Dallas messed up by not making him a coach. Hell he's getting paid anyways. They left Dak with a 3rd string mentor. You're doing the same thing all the other fans did in previous years with other quaterbacks. Yet you all skip the single consistent thing with the team throughout the seasons. The coaching and the owner... I can't scream for his head without seeing him with a better coaching staff and QB coach...

Thank you Will your comments are accurate and true I’m sick of a Dallas cowboys team that is inconsistent and lacking confidence. People don’t understand realism. And what this is, is the realization of what the Dallas cowboys will be if we continue to do things the way the way we have been for the past couple of years. This franchise has done nothing but went downhill since Romo’s retirement. Granted we were never a Super Bowl team during the Romo era but we were a winning team. We had winning seasons and best of all we had a confident quarterback. I would really like to see Dak under a different “light” (under a different coaching staff), but right now I’m not entirely sold on Dak. This season is done for the Cowboys. The only thing a Cowboys fan can do at this point is hope that next season will be better, but if revisions aren’t being done to the coaching staff we will face another failing season.

I really don't get how Dallas fans expected anything less than this. I mean...seriously, what did Dallas (and New York for that matter) fans really expect? New York and Dallas had NOTHING! It was so clearly the Eagles' division from the start; once Wentz was healthy, that was a wrap on that. Washington got off to a good start, but they'll be back in 2nd or 3rd very shortly, so no one cares.
