I propose a 6-team playoff. Teams ranked #1 and #2 get a first round bye. The matchup should be #3 vs #6 and #4 vs #5. The lower ranked first round winner gets #1 in the semifinal while #2 gets the higher ranked winner from the first round. Winners then meet for the National Championship.
In this case, both Bama and Miami get a first round bye while matchups are OU vs Wisc and Clemson vs Auburn. If both OU and Clemson win their games, then OU gets Bama and Clemson gets Miami, but if both Auburn and Wisc are victorious, then Auburn gets Bama and Wisc gets Miami. As stated earlier, the lower ranked first round winner gets Bama and Miami will take on the higher ranked winner from the first round. The winners of the semifinals will then meet for the National Championship.

It's not over complicated. It's exactly how the NFL sets up their 6-team match-ups for each conference in the playoffs.

They dont have a big reputation or strength of record. Its the same reason an undefeated UCF cant break into the top 10 even.
UCF's in a Group of 5 conference. Teams in the Group of 5 (MAC, C-USA, AAC, Mountain West, Sunbelt) generally aren't in the Playoff conversation. The only Group of 5 team that's ever been close to a playoff spot was Houston who was ranked #6 at one point.

They didn't play anybody ranked until this past weekend and their schedule is not all that strong this year. They need to win this weekend and if they somehow manage to win the title game they will be Top 4.

I think the committee dropped TCU too far for losing to Oklahoma. They fell from 6 to 12 because of that loss. That’s too far. That was a good Oklahoma team that beat them. They should’ve stayed in the Top 10 at least.
Wisconsin is under ranked and Alabama is overranked
