    Man, did you hit the nail on the head with having your network of guys you can rely on. I took my 2018 Ram in to get a couple of recalls handled before I delete it. I had a tiny oil leak and the diesel tech confirmed my suspicion that it was the timing cover gasket.
    I contacted Ram and they covered it under warranty. We made arrangements for the local dealership to do the service. They said it would take “about a week”. One of my closest friends let me borrow his Ram for the week. It ended up taking 3 full weeks.
    He never batted an eye and let me keep it the entire time. I was able to set and pick cans for 3 weeks because he saved my ass!

    John and Mike, consider subbing some deliveries and pickups to a local professional tow company. We usually have 20 foot flat decks that’ll hold 5-6 tons. So you should have room for 4-5 tons plus the dumpster. Might be a slightly higher cost than someone else with a Hooklift, but if you’re in a pinch, it could help.

    • @samedaydumpster
      @samedaydumpster  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Super valid point. I actually share part of my dumpster yard with a tow truck company and we have already discussed helping each other out when needed. I haven't had to use them yet, but he's in my phone and believe he would help out on a moments notice if called upon.
      Looking back I should have brought this up in the video. Great suggestion on your part, Thank You for sharing this with everyone on the channel.
      Very smart and very much appreciated.

    I work for a company that’s been in business since the 30s. I’m not sure how long the dumpster part of the business has been around here but it’s obvious that the flat fee we have has been working for them for decades, mainly because we’re the only landfill around. I’m in a market where there are so many dumpster companies out here and competition is ridiculous even though our competitors dump at our site. I get more and more customers by the day requesting smaller dumpsters than we offer (we do primarily 20 and 30yd). Or customers asking about cheaper pricing is available for only a day to 3 days instead of the 7. I want to approach my bosses and say everything I watched in your video because it makes sense.

    • @samedaydumpster
      @samedaydumpster  Před 3 měsíci

      In mind mind its pretty simple, the world of business changes daily and businesses that are struck doing business the same way for decades are rarely on the cutting edge anymore. I don't change because I like to, I change because our clients needs, wants and projects change that require a new approach to getting things done with the most effective tools and timing and pricing.
      Every time their landfill changes pricing to keep up with expense, it creates a new opportunity for other dumpster businesses in their area to get even more creative and offer more value that other businesses that refuse to adapt and no longer offer no incentives. The world changes and you can either change or get left behind.
      Hope this helps my friend. I appreciate you taking the time to watch a few videos and support the channel.
      Thanks You.

    I’ve come up against a dead end in my startup Hooklift business. the state I live in will not grant me the permit needed to be able to drop dumpsters. It’s regulatory crap through the public service commission. Long story short I’m going to have to sell my equipment. I’m wondering if you knew some outlets for selling a couple brand new dumpsters and a 26,000gvw truck with a brand new swaploader. I pray no one else has to experience the unbelievable disappointment of the state they live in creating a state promoted monopoly of a privately run company. Any advice would be greatly welcomed and appreciated

    I would love to do a ride along one day with you. I've been in the Trash business my entire life and 38 years old. I originally just pretty much went out on my own and have a truck that goes out every day and sometimes a part-time driver. My situation is a little unique though because I was born with the birth defect that I am legally blonde so therefore I cannot drive so obviously that makes my situation a little more difficult than others but nonetheless, I'm not the type I've worked my whole life just trying to grow, but would love to pick your brain for a day very interested in your operation.
