In this case I removed this instrument top. It was in a very poor glued condition. it wasn't difficult if you know what you are doing. But I don't recommend anyone to do this by yourself if you don't have the proper training. You could damage your instrument even more than it was before you attempted to do the restoration.

MAKE IT EASY on yourself. Take the blunt side of an Exacto knife and scrape around the entire glue edge completely around the top. Scraping the glue edge weakens the seal so it is much easier to get a flat knife between the seam without splintering it.

Is the top glued down on top of the neck block? I think I saw you towards the end of the video separating the top from the neck block ... maybe?

Hello. Yes. They should always be glue together. Sometimes with the years the top change the shape because of aging and vibration and you may find out they are not glued together any more. Also if the luthier didn't adjust the contact between the top and the block , then it will be open as well. Thanks for your support and for watching this video
