One of the most functional studio for a keyboard player/ producer I have seen. Great interview. It would be awesome to show us more other keyboard players studio set up. Btw also the interview with Jeff lorber interview was great.

Cool, I use the 6176, Bae 1073Mp and At5040 for vocals as my main go to all the time! Well done on another great interview and tour Warren! :) Cheers from New Zealand!
One of my favourite things is to record my voice going AT5040 - 6176 in join mode - eqpwa. Then send it back for another pass going through the 1073mp! I love the 3d feel of tracking through the tube pre (610) but on the way back in getting the transformer saturation of the BAE. Heaps of fun! :) And because the At5040 is such a detailed mic I don't lose much definition when coming back through the second conversion pass on the Orion Studio.
I've fell in love with CJ Vanston's song at the end of Best In Show at the end credits. I've Shazamed it, Google searched it, and tried to find it on CZcams. What gives???? It's nowhere to be found! Please drop this jam on CZcams for the love of Vanston????
Please let us know when the album is released and maybe we can get a 24/48 download just asking. I was wondering just how he got that arie back ground vocal on the Toto XV album. I really enjoy your Videos Warren! I was amazed to see an Opcode Studio 4 MIDI interface in the rack. I've been trying to figure out how to interface mine with the newer computer. After all my research and talking with MOTU and other companies, it appears it's no longer usable. How does CJ use it with his system? I'm guessing he's using an older Mac. However, it would be great if I could put mine to use. Please advise! Thanks
Funny, that Opcode is just filling rack space...I coulda put any of dozens of one-space gear I have lying around, but I have a fond place in my heart for Opcode, they were a great company...so anyway it's there to remind me of where I came from I guess. Been using the Emagic Unitor 8s for 15 years now. Take care
Hey Warren ..I have a question regarding monitor placement. Does the back wall of the mixing room have to be a certain distance form the monitors? I know that for a low frequency to complete a cycle it needs a a certain distance. is this an issue in your opinion ? The back wall of the room I'm building is about 3 meters away form my monitors ... It would be great if you made a video about this subject.. Thank you very much ma man :)

CJ, Thanks for answering my Opcode Studio 4 question. I don't have the heart to remove it from my rack either. I still have all my old Pro Tools 3 rig purchased in 1995 and it all still works. I've been trying to incorporate it with my current Pro Tools 12.6 system. Some examples: Digi 888 16 bit audio interface, Alesis Adat with lightpipe as an audio interface 16 bit, Lexicon Nuverb reverb card, Samplecell, etc. So is all this old gear just something to remind me where I've come from and move on, or is it still usable? Advice greatly appreciated!
for the most part I find that old stuff more trouble than it's worth, ESPECIALLY the Samplecell cards! I just open the instruments in my EXS24 in Logic.

I was an engineer on the Snarky Puppy 2014 "We Like It Here" production. They did not 'make' us use it but we ended up using it almost exclusively.
