Tom Snyder, God rest his soul, was pure class and pure greatness in everything that he did, whether it was a talk show, news anchoring, whatever, Tom was awesome! RIP Tom Snyder. Let's all fire up some Colortinis and keep Tom in our hearts always.

Tom Snyder was replaced by David Letterman. In the 1990's, Snyder returned to the 12:30 A.M. (ET/PT) timeslot in a show produced by a company owned by....David Letterman!
There was a Larry Sanders Show where Larry tries to get Bobcat Goldthwaite the spot following his show, but he tells Letterman he is going with Snyder. the next year Snyder is following Letterman. Great meta comedy!
I totally miss Tom Snyder. Also enjoyed his radio show. Late night shows these days suck, always reaching for cheap laughs with dumb fly-by-night guests.
The only time I've ever disagreed with you Mr. Snyder is over Nixon. IF I have to 'judge not lest yee be judged' except for Nixon then you have missed the meaning of the phrase you quote but your still one of a kind and greatly missed.

And 18 years later, Tom gave the same final sign-off, verbatim, when he withdrew for the final time from 'The Late Late Show', on Mar. 26, 1999. o.o
Miss that show. They used “Pippin” as bumper music for a time and I can still just picture him sitting there every time I hear that song.
