Kipling's Mowgli is a dark story of wisdom and upbringing. It was never meant to be funny circus of dancing animals. Stunning work!
Of all the film adaptations of Rudyard Kipling's "The Jungle Book" that I've watched, MOWGLI is the one I like best. I especially love their bringing the animals to life with motion capture. Apart from that, I admire the realistic elements of the story, such as a feral boy struggling to integrate into human society.
This movie was absolutely EPIC, its a must watch and without a doubt one of the best films of the year
Definitely the greatest depiction of the actual book! I loved this movie.
Serkis and nolan are gods among cinema
Much prefer this one to the Disney version. It's more authentic, genuine and has the heart of the jungle at its core. Amazing work by the cast and of course the legend that is Andy Serkis

Poor Boot, yeah I wasn't expecting that. Shows the dark side of human behaviour though I do wonder what happens regarding human encroachment on the jungle which doesn't appear to be changing? We tend to gradually raze natural places like a virus :(

Watching the film I was thinking 'I'm sure I know that voice from somewhere'. I like the way when he speaks it's a sort of mix of animal growls and voice acting and the way certain parts are SHOUTED reminiscent of a tiger roar.
I love how they blended the features of the animals based on wildlife in India as well as the counterpart voice actors. Wolves and bears in India are more “mangy” in appearance...

I liked Benedict as Shere Khan but the way he says "man" like in 1:08 start becoming funny over time. It's like he randomly turned into Christopher Walken for that single word.
Andy Serkis you were the voice of Smeagol and gollum from Lord of the Rings to The Hobbit
And Benedict Cumberbatch is the voice of Smaug in The Hobbit.

It's not perfect, and I do think some of the mo-cap faces are a little off at times (likely due to the budget cuts after it was sold to Netflix), but this is still by and far the best live-action adaptation of the Jungle Book. It has the core heart and themes of the original material, and the characters are all brought to life wonderfully.
Amazing film. Also, the second Jungle Book movie featuring Marvel actors.

WHY the hell didn't i hear about this movie
It’s a Damn Good Jungle Book Movie! Much Better than the 2016 Disney remake! You can watch it on Netflix as it’s now classed as a Netflix Original because Warner Bros (who originally made this movie) sold the movie to Netflix! This version is much more Faithful to Rudyard Kipling’s Original Book (1894) which the Disney films had very little in common with.

I read the original book, think I found it in a charity shop. It's certainly not the singing and dancing happy version of the Disney version and there's one point where Bhageera has to remind Baloo not to 'knock Mogli about so much' as in physically bashing him. Rather a lot of racism/imperial themes too.

Matt Lo yes how ever the one before is more of a Disney take to it and a little similar to the cartoon version, how ever Andy Serkis is going base off the book, which is much darker, take a read.
