My name is Joel, I work and manage Sunny Knoll Stables located in North Eastern Pennsylvania. There's always something happening as we do our best to take care of these beautiful animals. Between the weather and everyday shenanigan's, who knows what is going to happen next!

Hi Joel, there's always a lot to do, especially when Gavin Two Leg can't help with all of this. At first glance, Willy is a very quiet boy, but time will tell if he will remain so in the future. What a fun break, Andrew from the veggie’s was sneaking around found your camera and couldn't resist filming his intro, he's such a fun guy. Nice to see you guys fooling around together again. Consider all the cool stuff that happens when a camera isn’t around. Maybe think of putting a streaming camera or two outside, doubles as a security camera.

@@candyh9876 don't matter how calm or how many there are at a time...its an animal that weighs in excess of 1100 pounds and you don't go blindfolding yourself around someone elses horses period. Its an accident waiting to happen.

William is beautiful! He looks identical to my gelding down to the one white back hoof 😄 I also have a stallion and they can be quite the escape artists ☺ He'll settle in and be just fine.

William probably didn't jump because he's a stallion. He was most likely upset and stirred up and pacing because he didn't like being alone. Then he decided to jump and join the others. I like that you said he respects the hot wire. I bet he'll be just fine with your geldings. He's a nice stallion! I think I missed what breed he is!?💙
I have a scar going up the back of my leg from a stallion. He decided he didn't want to go around the barrels and threw me through the fence.

What was his stable situation prior to you?
Does it (number of herds, size of his herd, composition of the herd, daily routine) have an influence on how you are transitioning him?
I'm not surprised the stallion jumped the fence. a few friends of mine have had that issue with their draft horses
Wow! Sooo much to do for the fabulous equines. Don't worry about the manure Oops. You are so organized you came up with a Plan B. Love the addition of Mr. W. Definitely will keep the spring season interesting for all.

My question is...if William should become the leader of the herd he's in, will he become protective of the herd? If you must move slow around him, what about when he's with the herd and one of the owners goes into the same pasture as the herd?
Good Question! It depends on his personality which type of leader he will be. (If he becomes a leader). And chances are high that he won't be agressive when someone else is getting their gelding.
Does William get something that would reduce his Drive added to his feed?
You don't usually salt peter a stud, you keep em in a stud pen or in with geldings if they are well mannered and not pushy dinks.
What breed is William? Has he been used for breeding? What discipline is he trained in? Has he been or is he being shown?
Thats why hes still a stallion and not a gelding, they kept him intact to be used for breeding
My question is are there any mares there, and if so how many? If yes, what is the plan when the mare goes into heat?

What is the difference between a guilding and a stallion?
A gelding is a male that has been castrated. A stallion is an intact male. A mare is the female horse. Geldings are generally the more docile of the three.
@@chelinfusco6403 so if he lets the stallion loose in the heard he can potentially impregnate one of the mares? I would imagine this is something they factor in when picking what heard he will go into?
@@forlini4876 There are no mares in the stable. Although when you put a stallion into a mare/gelding herd, they usually end up at the top of the pecking order, including all the fights & scuffles to climb to the top. It will be interesting.
@@forlini4876 you don't turn a stud loose in a herd of other peoples mares that are being boarded at a boarding stable so it can breed them. Thats a great way to get sued out of business real quick

Training with food.
Why is that horse wearing a mask on his head?
That is a fly mask. It keeps the bugs from his eyes, ears and scratches on his head. The horse can see through it clearly.
Do the other horses act differently when there is a stallion around?
So far the geldings have not. But time will tell.
