  • Trying to fix this Yamaha natural sound AV receiver RX-V620RDS I pick up from auction for £5. No one was bidding on this amplifier so I just click the Bid button and won this for £5. When I tested it there was no sound but you could just about here it when the volume was fully turned up.
Let's get this apart and see if we can see what's wrong with it and repair this amplifier.

Great video on a small workbench.
Couldn't you glue the board and restore it's shape with some epoxy like material? What glue can one use for printed circuits?
Your solution was spot on by anyhow.

You could probably use some epoxy resin but it would probably just break off again.

Sorry, impossible to tell you what is wrong. Possibly a blown output transistor on that channel

I have one similar to this, a 520 rds, I suspect the model down and I wonder if that front panel has been off before not because of that damage but due to another fault and that was caused while fixing the other issue?
So on these they use a capacitor on the display panel to help them remember all the settings like rear delay, rear volume levels etc (You need a remote for these) and that capacitor dries out and leaks. I swapped mine out which means rmoving all those cables and the large board in the front panel.
I wonder if somebody hamfisted has tried and failed?
    Anyway, I hope that helps
