  • The Goat Format world was stunned when this unusual Zombie Cyber-Stein deck took 1st place in a highly competitive tournament. Even in 2024, originality can still win in Goat Format.

    MrBigNoodle made a modern impact on this classic, and "solved" format.
    Popularizing Fiend Megacyber, and introducing an edison school of thought.
    I can't nerd out enough about this.

    I think its more of a case where if you build a deck out of decent cards, you can still win a tournament

    He had said in a previous interview that ryu-kokki was a brick but I truly think as a 1 of it's still worth as it allows you to crash pyramid on your turn to cash it in even if they never attack into a set turtle

    Reasoning Gate just won and topped this past week a few times too, which has a similar OTK strategy. I think more and more people will play these aggressive style decks from now on :)

      This is such an extremely cool deck. Anytime I see something not chaos turbo, win or top it restores a little faith ❤
      I know it’s not set in stone but I’d love to see this get more refined if you had any ideas on how to further optimize it

    Aside from cold wave monarch and stein gate decks, another deck that's featuring cyberstein is cat control

    Megacyber is a cool tech in this sort of build, really great way to kill tempo when you're playing passively.
    Honestly I feel like Turbo Chaos variants stand the most to gain from incorporating stein in the main.

      They're there just because Pyramid Turtles (and Book of Life) need SOME targets, and MrBigNoodle felt they were better than the other options in Goat Format. Great vs Duo, Card Destruction, etc.

    I think people forgot one deck type (like this deck). Yes there is Control, Combo, Aggro there is a 4th one called Beatdown which sounds simple but this deck is exactly that type it's none of the above but have multiple ways to beat to opponent.
    Oh yea and i'd like to forget but there is... burn...

      @@soleo2783 The midrange is not a concept for YGO. Beatdown is a little bit of everything usually decks which are not super specific and difficult to put in the category that's what people called beatdown.

    • @GoatDuels
      @GoatDuels  Před měsícem

      "Beatdown" is a term that refers to aggro decks, which was more commonly used in prior decades. It was popularized in the widely-read 1999 Mike Flores article, "Who's The Beatdown?" You can believe it means whatever you want; I'm just telling you that it's widely understood to be synonymous with "aggro" in TCG lexicon.
      "Who's The Beatdown?" also explains that aggro to control is a spectrum, and the decks in the middle of the spectrum are typically called "midrange." This spectrum absolutely exists in Goat Format, with "Warrior Midrange" being the best example of the middle. These Warrior decks with Spies/Dekoichis are more controlling than Warrior Aggro, but more aggressive than Chaos Turbo. Hopefully that clears things up.

    • @GoatDuels
      @GoatDuels  Před měsícem

      Thanks a lot bro. I don't think Skull Archfiend of Lightning has ever been considered competitively viable in Yugioh's history. Tribute summoning is a big investment in Goat Format, so the bar to qualify as a good tribute monster is quite high. The Archfiend archetype has seen a tiny amount of play in Goat Format though, utilizing cards like Infernalqueen Archfiend and Terrorking Archfiend.

      @MrBigNoodle Před měsícem +2

      @@GoatDuels It's simple. If 40% of tournament entrants are playing a deck, then that deck is automatically the good deck, and every other deck that wins is a fluke.
